"I just wanted a pirate-free day. Staying home at the temple. Reading a holobook."

Holobooks,[2] or holonovels,[3] were an ancient, self-contained data storage technology that required only small amounts of energy[2] and took the form of slim, crystalline boards emitting a blueish glow.[4] They were user-friendly and offered many modes of interaction.[2]

A few of the holobooks from the Great Jedi Library of Ossus were evacuated and held in the Jedi Archives on Coruscant.[5] The Jedi Archives contained many holobooks, alongside standard data-tapes and rare holocrons.[6] The archives in the Batuu Jedi temple had holobooks from across the Galactic Frontier.[7]
