- "These High Republic cruisers were something special."
- ―Waka
The Castellan was a cruiser operational during the High Republic Era. After falling under attack by a fleet of Nihil starships, the Castellan made an emergency jump to hyperspace, crashing on the moon Toshara. In the many years following the crash, the wreckage was scavenged for parts by scavengers. During the Imperial Era, the scoundrel Kay Vess entered the wreckage of the cruiser in search of a nav computer for the EML-850 light freighter Trailblazer.[1]
Behind the scenes
Aurebesh text on the walls of the Castellan wreckage spell the name "S.S. Astrid", though it was named the Castellan in the final release of the game.
The distorted hologram that can be seen on the bridge provides a glimpse of the ship in its original form, but it's never clear enough to be certain what type of ship it is supposed to have been.
Concept artwork of the ship was created.[2]
