Lost Steppe was a mountainous region of the moon Toshara which was located in the Outer Rim Territories. The region was located south of the town Jaunta's Hope in the Grazing Fields region of the moon. A large number of natural rock formations were located in the region. These included a mound known as Typhon's Rock, and the Gushiro Canyon along with a number of caves such as Hermit's Hollow, Amberine Cave and Desolate Cave.[1]
Sometime before 3 ABY, the smuggler Jet Kordo took over a forgotten Miyuki Trade League vault that was built into a rock formation south of Typhon's Rock. By 3 ABY[2] the western section of the region was controlled by the Pyke Syndicate where in they operated a Robuma poaching station. Around the edges of their territory the Pykes operated a guardhouse and a stockroom. In the north of the region the Hutt Clan, a rival syndicate operated storehouse however it had been abandoned by 3 ABY. During the 3 ABY, the Starfallers, a gang of shipjackers operated a workshop out of a cavern in the eastern rock formations of the region.[1]
