Jedi Knight Cal Kestis being presented to the checkpoint officer
In 9 BBY,[4] the human[1] patrol trooper acted as a checkpoint officer for the Galactic Empire on Level 2046 of the planet Coruscant's underworld. In that same year, Jedi Knight Cal Kestis planned to gain access to secret information stored on the Pau'an Senator Daho Sejan's T-2 Ramsidian-class yacht by pretending to be a prisoner escorted by his allies, disguised as officers from the Coruscant Security Force. The checkpoint officer had heard rumors about a Jedi being on the planet, but he did not believe them. A LAAT/le patrol gunship landed on the platform he was stationed at, carrying Cal Kestis—the Jedi Knight that the officer had heard rumors about, as well as his allies, the crew of the starship known as the Stinger Mantis disguised as Coruscant Security Force officers, just as the Jedi had planned. The checkpoint officer questioned Bode Akuna, who was disguised as the leader of the officers, about his business on the platform. Being told that they were escorting the Jedi to the senator Daho Sejan, the trooper permitted them to pass and returned to standing at his post.[2]
Personality and traits
- "You're clear to move along. Wouldn't want to keep the senator waiting."
- ―The checkpoint officer, to a disguised Bode Akuna
The checkpoint officer had an authoritative presence, proclaiming that the area was on lockdown and told the disguised security officers to state their business. He had a disdain for the Jedi Order, referring to Kestis as a traitor and wishing he had died with the rest of the Jedi and taking pleasure in the Jedi being punched in the stomach. The trooper also showed understanding of urgency, when he heard the senator was waiting for the Jedi, he cleared the security officers and noted he would not want to keep the senator waiting.[2]
Equipment
As a member of the scout trooper corps,[3] the checkpoint officer wore specialized scout trooper armor utilized by Imperial patrol troopers.[2]
Behind the scenes
The checkpoint officer appeared in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor developed by Respawn Entertainment.[2]
