A prince was a hereditary title of some leaders, such as Prince Lee-Char, the son of King Yos Kolina who succeeded his father as leader of Mon Cala following a brief civil war as part of the Clone Wars, re-uniting the Mon Calamari and Quarren people of his world with the help of the Jedi.[1] Colden was a prince of Firevale during the High Republic Era,[2] and Prince Xizor was a leader of the Black Sun criminal syndicate during the Galactic Civil War.[3] "Prince" was a typically masculine equivalent of "Princess."
If Alderaan was not destroyed, the son of Princess Leia Organa of the Alderaanian royal family would have been born as the Prince of Alderaan.[4] Nonetheless, Vaneé addressed Kylo Ren by the title of prince in recognition of his heritage as the grandson of Darth Vader, who Vaneé had once served.[5]
