Mother Talzin's clan referred to a particularly large clan of Nightsisters, led by Mother Talzin, on the planet Dathomir.[1] The clan was actually considered the entirety of the Nightsister order[4] and civilization[5] because Talzin had unified the previously independent Nightsister covens under her control. Multiple covens operated under the single clan.[6]
The clan was mostly wiped out by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, when General Grievous led a massacre of the clan.[4] Talzin's actions thus were seen as having brought about the destruction of the Nightsisters,[7] with the destruction brought on by Grievous being regarded as the end of the Nightsister civilization.[5] Still, other covens, such as the Nardithi Nightsisters, had taken on the name "Nightsister" by the time of the Galactic Empire.[8]
