- "You remember that zoochberry pie I made you?"
"Yeah?"
"Well that was her recipe! Lovingly recreated by yours truly. You liked it right?"
"Yeah, it was delicious!"
"Oh, she'd have loved to know that! Food was her thing – she taught me everything I know!" - ―Greez Dritus and Kata Akuna
Zoochberry pie was a type of pie made using zoochberries. The Latero Pyloon had a recipe for zoochberry pie that she taught to her great-grandson, Greez Dritus, as well as everything else that he knew about cooking.[1] In 9 BBY,[2] Dritus lovingly recreated the recipe when making the pie for the human Kata Akuna after she joined the crew of his luxury yacht, the Stinger Mantis. Akuna found the pie delicious, and when Dritus and Akuna later discussed Pyloon while on board the Mantis, Dritus claimed Pyloon would have been pleased to hear how much Akuna enjoyed the recipe, as food had meant a lot to her. Akuna was then excited to learn that Pyloon had taught Dritus many other recipes besides the pie.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, zoochberry pie was mentioned in an ambient conversation in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[1] The pie originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it appeared in the 1992 junior novel The Lost City of the Jedi, written by Paul and Hollace Davids.[3]
