"Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other — I've seen a lot of strange stuff…"
―Quote by Han Solo from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, introducing the article[3][4]

The Star Wars Galaxy Map is a map of the Star Wars galaxy hosted on StarWars.com based on a physical map that was created by Christopher Ibbitt[1] as a promotional poster serving as a companion for the reference book Star Wars: Timelines,[3] which released on April 25 2023 in the US by Dorling Kindersley.[5] The page acted as a continuation of the Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion, which was created as a tie-in to the Star Wars Legends reference book The Essential Atlas. Initially published on June 24, 2025, the page suggested there would be future updates to the map. It also links to Star Systems of the Galaxy,[3] an appendix of star systems similar to those included in the Online Companion.[6]

The map, along with the appendix, saw its first update on October 13, 2025. The update saw some new star systems mapped while others were removed; as promised by Fry, this did not reflect any kind of change in their position but was, instead, simply a way to spotlight certain systems by bringing different ones into the map.[7]
