Mefti was an astronomical object[6] located in the Mefti system of the Colonies[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square L-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and was connected to the Thrinittik system[7] and the Uviuy Exen system via the hyperspace route known as the Shwuy Exchange.[3] Mefti was the homeworld of[5] the sentient Meftian species,[4] including the gunslinger Kullbee Sperado.[6]
Behind the scenes
Mefti was first mentioned on a map[8] designed by Christopher Ibbitt[9] that was created for the reference book Star Wars: Timelines and given out as a promotional poster at Celebration Anaheim[10] on May 27, 2022[11] prior to the book's release during Celebration Europe[12] of April 7 through 10, 2023.[13] The 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy subsequently established Mefti as a distinct celestial body.[6]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Mefti as one such homeworld with regard to the Meftian species.
