Nimban was a terrestrial[5] planet[6] located in the Nimban system,[3] a part of the Hutt Space portion of[2] the Slice.[1] Situated in grid square S-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it was linked by[2] the Pabol Sleheyron[4] hyperspace route to the Chalacta and Sleheyron systems.[2]
Nimban was the homeworld of the sentient Nimbanel species,[5] including Mosep Binneed, a servant of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure.[6] At some point, Nimbanel was mentioned in an entry of an artist's journal dedicated to the Nimbanels. The entry was included in a section of the work describing sentient species that originated in dry habitats. The journal was restored, expanded, and displayed at the Graf Archive[5] at some point no earlier than 34 ABY.[7]
Behind the scenes
Nimban's name was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[8] It was then identified as a distinct planet in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z.[6] Nimban was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was created by Pablo Hidalgo and introduced in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[9]
