Polaar was[2] a Mid Rim Territories[1] planet located in the Polaar system within the Aubreeyan Cluster[2] of the galaxy's Eidoloni sector.[1] During the Galactic Civil War, a skirmish was fought near Polaar, where a Mon Calamari battle cruiser was forced to flee. However, as its hyperdrive was damaged, the [Battlecruiser|battle cruiser]] came out of lightspeed too close to Polaar. The ship's crew attempted to jump, but the cruiser's coaxium regulator instead overloaded and sent the vessel's fusion core into meltdown, which caused the ship to crash into Polaar's surface. After the crash, the core's chain reaction continued and poisoned the world with distronic radiation, which prevented life from living on the planet. The energy field that was created from the ship's crash scrambled all sensor readings, as well as communications both to and from the planet, which made Polaar an ideal place to hide.[2]
After she left the Acolytes of the Beyond, Komat lived in exile in a homestead on Polaar.[2] In 21 ABY,[3] Lando Calrissian and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker traveled to Polaar to speak with Komat, as Skywalker believed she could help find the location of the Goldstone, a luxury yacht being used by a family they sought. Komat agreed to help, and traveled beyond Polaar's energy field to use her ability of hyperwave signal interception, which allowed her to track where and when ships would exit hyperspace. She was successful in locating where the Goldstone was, and as she made her way back to the planet, Komat was ambushed by ships containing kyber crystal empowered battle droids that had been sent by the Pantoran female Kiza to retrieve kyber crystals that Skywalker had uncovered. After the defeat of the droids, Komat agreed to accompany Calrissian to Taw Provode to help the family.[2]
