- "Huh. Cermau. Never heard of it."
- ―Anakin Skywalker
Cermau was a planet[4] located in the Cermau system in the Bakura sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It sat along the Bakura Trace[2] hyperspace route, and was an endpoint of another route that linked it to Batuu northward.[3]
A Confederacy of Independent Systems freighter set to travel from the planet Batuu to Mokivj listed Cermau as its destination in its navigation systems. When investigating the freighter, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Chiss Ascendancy Commander Mitth'raw'nuruodo discovered its false destination, and Skywalker commented that he had not heard of the planet before. Mitth'raw'nuruodo deduced that the freighter's true destination was Mokivj, situated on the route between Batuu and Cermau.[4] The author and historian Eloc Throno included Cermau on a map in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu.[5]
Behind the scenes
Cermau was first mentioned in the 2018 novel Thrawn: Alliances, written by Timothy Zahn.[4]

(In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
