"During our arms exchange on Bonadan, I purchased a new writing stylus and a billy-bag of finely shredded savory sweetmeats."
―Ephant Mon adds an entry to the Smuggler's Guide[6]

Bonadan was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories Corporate Sector that marked the start of the Hydian Way. By 10 BBY, the arms dealers Ephant Mon and Masse Goskey had attended an arms exchange on the planet.

Description

Bonadan was a planet located in the Corporate Sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories[1] at coordinates Q-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[3] The world was the starting point of the Hydian Way hyperspace route,[1] which linked it to the Salient system.[7]

History

Ephant Mon and Masse Goskey attended an arms deal on Bonadan.

During the High Republic Era, the future Jedi Master Torbin was born on Bonadan to paupers.[8] By 22 BBY,[9] the planet had an embassy in the Federal District of Coruscant, the capital world of the Galactic Republic.[10] By 10 BBY[11] the arms dealers Ephant Mon and Masse Goskey attended an arms exchange on Bonadan where Mon purchased a new writing stylus and a billy-bag of finely shredded savory sweetmeats. He then mentioned the planet when writing about the exchange in the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide.[6]

The following entry in the book contained a post from a user named "BonadanBouncer" on Cynabar's InfoNet that claimed that the crime lord Azmorigan should be avoided as he had not paid for clean-up after the user transported puffer pigs for him.[6] The smuggler Han Solo had flown to Bonadan[12] by 0 BBY.[13]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Bonadan was first mentioned on a map in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[3] The world originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 1979 novel Han Solo's Revenge, which was written by Brian Daley.[14]

Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).

  11. Ephant Mon's entry in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide is written prior to an entry by Dryden Vos. Vos dies during a portion of Solo: A Star Wars Story that Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide dates to nine years after the formation of the Galactic Empire. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the formation to 19 BBY, Vos's death must occur in 10 BBY and Mon's entry in the Smuggler's Guide must be written at some point prior to that.
