- "What do you miss most about Arkania? I've never been."
"I don't understand the question." - ―Joss Adren speaks to the Arkanian Visma Tarko
Arkania was a cold planet located in the Arkania system of the galaxy's Colonies region, positioned at the coordinates M-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid. It was the homeworld of Arkanian species.
Decription
The cold planet Arkania[3] sat within the Arkania system[2] of the Colonies region of the galaxy at coordinates M-8[1] on the Standard Galactic Grid[6] The Arkanian species hailed from Arkania.[3] As a result of life on the frigid planet, the Arkanians would develop infrared vision over the course of their evolution. Root vegetables were a staple crop on Arkania. The world[7] shared its name with the creatures known as Arkanian dragons.[8]
History
By the year 228 BBY,[9] the Tarkos family had been, for centuries by that point, among the most illustrious families who called Arkania home. Members of the clan arose to positions like general, governor, that of top scientist, and even Jedi.[5] In the weeks following the Battle of Endor, the New Republic was involved in a battle on Arkania that included ground-level fighting.[10]
Behind the scenes
Arkania was first mentioned in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016.[1]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Arkania first appeared in Tales of the Jedi 1, a comic published in 1993.[11]

- ↑ According to Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia, the Guardian Protocols were implemented in 229 BBY. According to Shadows of Starlight 1, this happened one week after the Destruction of Starlight Beacon, which Star Wars: Timelines places in 230 BBY. The events of The High Republic: The Eye of Darkness, including the Expansion of the Stormwall, take place exactly one year after the Fall of Starlight Beacon. The events of "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Friend or Foe?" and "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Survivors" take place one month after the Expansion of the Stormwall, so they must be set in 228 BBY.
