"Consistent reports place the insectoids' home on the planet Huk in the sector of the same name, which the Yam'rii largely conquered in search of strong enemies, resources to plunder and peoples to enslave."
―"Species From A to Z"[5]

Huk was a barren planet within the Huk system, a star system in Wild Space, the homeworld of the technologically-advanced insectoid Yam'rii species.

Description

Huk[4] was a planet[3] located in the Huk system within the galaxy's Wild Space, in grid square J-4 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[2]

History

The Yam'rii ruthlessly invaded their sector, stripped many worlds of their resources and sold them as slaves, and then turned their attention to Kalee. Years later,[6] one Kaleesh warlord named Qymaen jai Sheelal, now known as Grievous.[7] led a ruthless war against their planetary neighbor, the Yam'rii.[4] Having been driven from their world by the Kaleesh forces led by Grievous, the Yam'rii did something unexpected and asked the Republic for help.[6] The Republic[4] and the Jedi, the protectors of the Republic,[8] sided with them[4] and intervened in the conflict between the two species.[9] Grievous developed a personal vendetta against the Republic[4] and the Jedi as a result, eventually allying himself with InterGalactic Banking Clan[6] and becoming an enforcer.[7]

Behind the scenes

Huk was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[4]

Contradictions

The reference booklet "The Separatists" described Huk and Kalee as being located in the "Huk sector,"[6] but author Jason Fry has indicated this is an error.[10]
