Rentaxius VIII,[3] was an astronomical object[1] and the eighth orbit[3] of the Rentaxius system.[2] It was situated in the Inner Rim Territories near the Perlemian Trade Route at the coordinates O-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] In 4 ABY,[4] the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron attempted to intercept and capture an Imperial freighter at Rentaxius VIII that they believed to have been resupplied at the planet Pandem Nai.[3]
Alphabet Squadron surrounded the freighter, and Alphabet Leader Yrica Quell demanded its surrender, with the starship's captain complying before being murdered by his own crew. The Imperial vessel, under a new commander, then opened fire on the squadron. Alphabet Squadron responded, and the pilots Chass na Chadic and Nath Tensent disabled the vessel thereafter, but the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor pilot Wyl Lark accidentally shot its oxygen generator, forcing Alphabet Squadron to evacuate the surviving crew and tow them away in escape pods.[3]
Behind the scenes
Rentaxius VIII first appeared in 2019's Alphabet Squadron, the first novel in Alexander Freed's Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.[3]
