Kerev Doi was a spice-mining planet[3] in the Kerev Doi system in the Circarpous sector of the Expansion Region[1] that was known for its "colorful," lawless path and its corrupt banking system. The spice producing planet once had pink skies, but after the Imperial occupation, they turned dark. Following the Battle of Yavin, the Imperial Navy officer Thane Kyrell was stationed on the planet. After witnessing the maltreatment of imported Bodach'i slaves, Kyrell, who already had been disillusioned by the Empire's destruction of Alderaan, decided to desert the Empire.[3] Shortly prior to the Battle of Jakku, Kerev Doi was still reportedly under the domination of some Imperial remnant, crime syndicate or gang.[4]
