Centares was an astronomical object[6] located in the Centares system in the Maldrood sector of the Mid Rim[1] at the junction of the Perlemian Trade Route[3] and the Triellus Trade Route.[4] Imperial capital ships were re-deployed from Centares in order to try and protect targets that the stolen Imperial corvette Carrion Spike might attack. Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, owner of the corvette, was informed of these re-deployments by the captain of the Star Destroyer Liberator.[5]
In 3 ABY,[7] flight KZ-35 to Centares that was scheduled to depart from Mirogana Spaceport's gate W2 on the moon Toshara was cancelled after the moon's Imperial Governor Thorden closed down a section of the spaceport.[6]
