Bombing of Fountain Palace

(Taken to CA by Princess Leia Organa Solo-GLG on June 25, 2013)

FountainPalace
Ta'a Chume: "No one hurt."
Tenel Ka: "It was a bomb?"
Ta'a Chume: "Yes. In the dining hall. [We] must leave immediately."
Tenel Ka: "We were all supposed to be in the dining hall!"
Jaina: "So that bomb—"
Ta'a Chume: "—was meant for the princess and me."
―Ta'a Chume, Tenel Ka, and Jaina after the explosion of the bomb
In 23 ABY, the dining hall of Fountain Palace, the personal residence of the Hapan Queen Mother on the planet Hapes, was bombed. The bomb was meant to kill Ta'a Chume, the matriarch of Hapes, and her granddaughter Tenel Ka, the Hapan princess. However, because they had unexpectedly decided to eat in Tenel Ka's private room with her friends and fellow Jedi trainees Lowbacca, Jacen Solo, and Jaina Solo, no one was hurt by the explosion of the bomb. As a result of the bomb, the young Jedi were sent to the private island stronghold of the Royal Family of Hapes, Reef Fortress, where they were watched over by Yfra, who was Ta'a Chume's personal ambassador, and some Hapan Honor Guards. Ta'a Chume traveled back and forth between Reef Fortress and Fountain Palace as she personally attended the investigation of the bombing. Later, one of the bomb conspirators was caught. However, the prisoner was poisoned before she could be interrogated. (Read more…)

―Vaadu, in a Senate meeting
Following the Battle of Kur, the Nihil pirate organization attacked Salissia—a location in the galaxy—at some point between 232 and 231 BBY. In 231 BBY, Republic Senator Vaadu attended a Senate meeting concerning the upcoming Republic Fair on the Outer Rim planet Valo. He argued that the attack on Salissia was proof that the Nihil still posed a threat to the Republic Fair but was assured by Jedi Master Avar Kriss and the event's coordinator, Samera Ra-oon, that enough security would be present at the event to ensure its safety. Republic Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh agreed with their assessment, continuing the meeting despite Vaadu's concerns. (Read more…)

By some point between the years 402 BBY and 382 BBY, a war was fought between a baron from the location Dimok and the location Ripoblus during the High Republic Era. During the war, the baron acquired two orphaned Force-sensitive children as part of a plan to cultivate army generals to fight the war. The Jedi Master Char-Ryl-Roy interrogated the baron regarding the location of the abducted children, forcing him to confess within an hour by using the Force to close the windows and raise the temperature in the room. The children were recovered and sent to the moon Jedha. Master Char-Ryl-Roy's Padawan, Enya Keen, witnessed the interrogation and, in 382 BBY, recalled it after she used the same technique in an attempt to force a confession while interrogating Viceroy Ferrol for his connections to the Children of E'ronoh terrorist group on the planet E'ronoh. Matacorn campaign

(Taken to CA by Imperators II on May 06, 2024)

At some point between 1 BBY and 4 ABY, the Rebel Alliance engaged the military of the Galactic Empire in the Matacorn campaign of the Galactic Civil War. It shared its name with Matacorn, a nondescript trade world in the Mid Rim's Lambda sector. At one engagement of the campaign, Hesoc, an Alliance pilot flying an X-wing starfighter, eliminated eighteen TIE/LN starfighters and four TIE/sa bombers of the Empire. After that, however, an Imperial interceptor starfighter shot Hesoc down while he was executing a Tallon Roll maneuver.

Hesoc brought his damaged X-wing starfighter back in, but his right leg had been injured to the point where he was fitted with a cybernetic prosthesis. Although such an injury would normally have meant an end to the pilot's flying career, Hesoc nevertheless managed to persuade the chain of command to reinstate him for combat duty. (Read more…)

Engagement on Selvernis

(Taken to CA by Lewisr on July 06, 2024)

"I personally engaged with them on Selvernis. Before the Stormwall. There wasn't blight there then, at least not noticeably."
―Avar Kriss, on the Drengir
Between 232 BBY and 231 BBY, Jedi Master Avar Kriss of the Jedi Order engaged the Drengirsentient carnivorous plants who used the dark side of the Force—on the planet Selvernis. The engagement was part of the Jedi Order's response to the Drengir threat, after the dark side users had been seeded across the galaxy by the Nihil pirates to distract the Jedi.

In 228 BBY, when Cair San Tekka, a member of the San Tekka clan, presented Kriss with several potential terminus points for the plague known as the blight on a map, she noticed that Selvernis was one such point. The Jedi Master then realized a connection: she had personally fought the Drengir on Selvernis before the blight's appearance, recalling the battle and suggested that the planet could be significant in understanding the blight's origins and spread. ―Poe Dameron, to C'ai Threnalli
The Battle of Chyron Belt was a confrontation that took place at some point by the time of the First Order-Resistance War in 34 ABY and shared its name with the Expansion Region's Chyron system. It saw the participation of Amilyn Holdo, who served with the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War before eventually becoming a Vice Admiral of the Resistance.

By 34 ABY, Resistance Commander Poe Dameron had heard of Holdo's role in the Battle of Chyron Belt despite not having seen the Vice Admiral in person. That year, Dameron attended a briefing aboard the Resistance cruiser Raddus in which Holdo, after being placed in command of the Resistance fleet, addressed the attending Resistance personnel. After her speech, Dameron asked his fellow pilot, C'ai Threnalli, if the unconventional Vice Admiral who had spoken was indeed the same person who had participated in the Battle of Chyron Belt. In response, Threnalli shrugged and mumbled an affirmative in the Abednedish language. (Read more…)

"Without any of his She'ar?"
"He doesn't think they're worth as much as he lets on, especially since Arathab was murdered."
"In an assassination attempt."
―Ghirra Starros and Nan
Between 229 BBY and 228 BBY, an assassination attempt against Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro was carried out. The attempt was unsuccessful, but resulted in the death of Arathab Fal—a member of Ro's loyal bodyguards known as the She'ar. As a result of Fal's death, the Eye began to see less value in the group. The event eventually became known to the Nihil spy Nan and the Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros.

In 228 BBY, when Starros questioned Nan about Ro's location, the spy informed her that she did not know. The minister then asked Nan if he had taken any of the She'ar with him, to which the spy told Starros of the Eye's wanning opinion of the group after Fal's death. ―Yarzion Vell, to Ordea
In 229 BBY, Jedi Master Kelnacca of the Jedi Order and his Padawan, Yarzion Vell, fought members of the Nihil pirates on Vianax, an astronomical object located in the Nihil-controlled Occlusion Zone, as part of the Order's conflict with the marauders. The Nihil suffered at least two casualties during the fighting.

Following the battle, multiple children, including a human and an Elomin, watched as Kelnacca and Vell helped clear debris and make repairs. Destruction of a children's medcenter

(Taken to CA by Lewisr on December 16, 2024)

"The Hutts sent her to collect protection money from a children's medcenter on Novor. The Sisters of the Ninth Plane, who were running the place, well, they wouldn't pay up. Told her to leave. She left all right, but not before she turned her frigate's thrusters on the sanctuary. Brought the walls down on them. The Sisters. The young ones. No one survived. She claims it was an accident, but she knew what she was doing. She wanted everyone to know."
―Sestin Blin, on Ola Hest
By 231 BBY, a children's medcenter on the astronomical object Novor was destroyed by the Hutt Clan enforcer Ola Hest after the Sisters of the Ninth Plane who ran the medcenter refused to pay Hest protection money she was sent to collect. After the Sisters told Hest to leave, she aimed her frigate's thrusters at the building, bringing it down and killing all inside, later claiming it had been an accident. Hest was eventually captured by Jedi Master Porter Engle on the Hutt Space planet Nal Hutta and imprisoned on the Galactic Republic prison ship Restitution.

In 231 BBY, Restitution prisoner Sestin Blin told Lourna Dee, a Nihil Tempest Runner also imprisoned there, about Hest's destruction of the children's medcenter. Blin believed it had not been an accident, stating Hest knew what she was doing and wanted people to know. After Blin suggested not antagonizing Hest, Dee questioned if it was because she would drop a building on her, noting people had "tried worse." (Read more…)

Annexation of Galactic Republic star systems

(Taken to CA by Lewisr on December 30, 2024)

Elzar: "Chancellor Soh fears we may be looking at a potential alliance. The Cartel was always going to struggle to hold the systems it annexed in the days after Starlight—"
Keeve: "But with the support of the Nihil…"
Santar: "There's no telling how long it will take us to send the slugs slithering back to Nal Hutta."
―Elzar Mann, Keeve Trennis, and Santar talk about possibility of a Hutt Clan and Nihil alliance
In either 230 BBY or 229 BBY, in the days after the Galactic Republic space station Starlight Beacon was destroyed by the Nihil marauders, the criminal Hutt Clan annexed a number of star systems belonging to the Republic. Around 228 BBY, after learning the Nihil and Hutt Clan planned to meet, Republic Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh feared the two were about to form an alliance.

Jedi Master Elzar Mann subsequently contacted the crew of the Republic Defense Coalition Longbeam cruiser Gios and informed them about the meeting. After Mann noted the Hutts had been expected to struggle to hold the systems they had annexed, Jedi Master Keeve Trennis began to consider the implications of the Nihil supporting the Hutt Clan. Before she could finish, however, Jedi Santar stated it would take them a long time to send the Hutts back to the Hutt Space planet Nal Hutta. The crew of the Gios were ultimately able to prevent an alliance being formed between the two. (Read more…)

During her youth, the Chandrilan Mon Mothma was enraptured by Kehouris' ardent and violent anti-royalism.

Around 19 BBY, after the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire, Mothma, by then a senator, was detained and interrogated by Imperial security officers on the planet Coruscant. The Darnaburny Civil War was an event that the Mirialan Jedi Vernestra Rwoh of the Jedi Order participated in during the High Republic Era by around 160 BBY. Jedi Indara eventually learned of Rwoh's role in the civil war, considering it a historical and tragic event.

Around that year, as Indara—by then a Jedi Knight and Jedi archivist—traveled to find Rwoh at the Jedi High Council's request, she thought about events the Mirialan had been involved in, including the Darnaburny Civil War, and wondered whether she would share stories about them. The Jedi Knight noted it was one thing to learn about the event from Jedi who did not take part in it such as Jedi Masters Yoda and Oppo Rancisis, but as Rwoh had personally been involved in it she would surely speak with more expertise. Indara then considered whether, because Rwoh's species lived far longer than humans, she had come to view such events with the quiet detachment of age. (Read more…)
