New Alvaros was the capital city of the planet Barajin[1] during the Imperial Era. Between 19 BBY and 4 ABY,[2] when the human[1] female[3] Rynn Zenat—a native of Barajin—was at a very young age, her[1] parents were killed by the Galactic Empire[4] during a raid carried out by the Spice Runners of Kijimi, leaving her orphaned.[1]
After the raid, Zenat was present in New Alvaros wandering the streets, where she was found by the spice runner Tomasso. The spice runner was so struck by Zenat's bravery and impulsive nature that he adopted her, and took her to live with the Spice Runners on[1] the Mid Rim planet[5] Kijimi.[1]
