"I…I need to get back to work—these repairs won't make themselves"
―Yarzion Vell, on his repair work on Vianax[3]

Vianax was a terrestrial astronomical object in the Lol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 229 BBY, when Vianax was part of the Nihil pirates' Occlusion Zone region of space, Jedi Master Kelnacca and his Padawan, Yarzion Vell, fought members of the Nihil there. Following the skirmish, Kelnacca and Vell made repairs in a settlement. A group of children watched as the Jedi worked and were impressed by Kelnacca's strength and use of the Force. They approached Vell and spoke with him about both Kelnacca and himself.

Description

Vianax was a terrestrial astronomical[3] in the Vianax system, which was part of the Lol sector and situated in an intersecting portion of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Trailing Sectors.[2] Vianax lay in grid square Q-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It had a Type I atmosphere[4] breathable by multiple species and had at least three moons.[3]

History

"But does he ever say anything?"
"Oh, he says things. But only when he really needs to."
"Then how do you know if he likes you?"
"Heh. It's not like that for Jedi."

Kelnacca and Vell fought the Nihil on Vianax.

By 229 BBY,[5] Vianax was part of the Nihil pirates' Occlusion Zone,[3] an area of space cut off from the rest of the galaxy by the Stormwall hyperspace barrier.[6] That year,[5] the Wookiee Jedi Master Kelnacca and his Padawan, Yarzion Vell, fought members of the Nihil on Vianax. During the skirmish, Vell deflected blaster shots from the Nihil with his lightsaber while Kelnacca leapt over several of the marauders and attacked one upon landing.[3]

After the fighting ended, Kelnacca and Vell made repairs in a settlement on Vianax. A group of children, including an Elomin and a human, watched the Jedi and were impressed by Kelnacca's strength and use of the Force to clear debris. The children approached Vell and spoke with him about Kelnacca, noting that they had never seen a Wookiee before and asking questions about his silence, which Vell answered by explaining how he only spoke when necessary. The children then asked Vell about his tattoos—which spelled the name of his previous Master, Lulad—but Vell avoided answering them by telling them he had to go back to his repair work.[3]

In 228 BBY,[7] the Nihil surrendered to the Galactic Republic after the fall of the Stormwall, which dissolved the Occlusion Zone as a territory. Locations in the former Occlusion Zone were welcomed to re-join the Republic if they wished. However, some chose to retain their independence, while others remained under the control of individual Nihil warlords.[8] Around 149 BBY,[9] when Vell was dying, he told his own Padawan, Ordea, about his time on Vianax while telling them about his training under Kelnacca.[3]

Inhabitants

"We've never seen a Wookiee before. Especially not one who can use the Force!"
―A child inhabitant of Vianax, on Kelnacca[3]

Vianax's inhabitants included a human, an Elomin, and a member of another humanoid species.[3]

Locations

A settlement with grey buildings was located on Vianax, which Kelnacca and Vell made repairs to after their skirmish with the Nihil.[3]

Behind the scenes

Vianax was identified and appeared in a flashback in the one-shot comic The Acolyte - Kelnacca 1, written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Marika Cresta, and published by Marvel Comics[3] on September 4, 2024.[10] Before the comic's release, it was first pictured in a video uploaded to the official Star Wars YouTube channel on July 25 of that year.[11]
