In 228 BBY,[2] Jedi Grand Master Yoda undertook a mission to a Nihil satellite after he felt a disturbance in the Force that had come from the station. After arriving, Yoda discovered he had been lured to the satellite by the Nihil, who intended to kill him the Great Leveler, a Force-consuming Nameless creature. While there, Yoda rescued a family of Twi'leks who had been captured by the Nihil to lure Yoda to the station, ultimately escaping despite the Nihil's attempts to kill him.[1]
During his encounter with the Leveler, Yoda was emphatic towards the creature's plight, which allowed him to escape its affects and allowed him to communicate with it through the Force. Through the encounter, Yoda learned it was haunted by the deaths it had been forced to carry out from its hunger and simply wished to return to its homeworld, Sophros.[1]
