"The Hutts sent her to collect protection money from a children's medcenter on Novor. The Sisters of the Ninth Plane, who were running the place, well, they wouldn't pay up. Told her to leave. She left all right, but not before she turned her frigate's thrusters on the sanctuary. Brought the walls down on them. The Sisters. The young ones. No one survived. She claims it was an accident, but she knew what she was doing. She wanted everyone to know."
―Sestin Blin, on Ola Hest[4]

Novor was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Novor system of the Outer Rim's Tharin sector. During the High Republic Era, the Hutt Clan sent the enforcer Ola Hest to Novor to collect protection money from a children's medcenter run by the Sisters of the Ninth Plane.

After the Sisters refused to pay, however, Hest destroyed the building, resulting in all inside being killed. While imprisoned on the Restitution in 231 BBY, Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee was informed of Hest's actions on Novor by fellow prisoner Sestin Blin.

Description

Novor was a terrestrial astronomical object[4] located in the Novor system within the Periphery subsector of the Tharin sector in the Outer Rim[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square S-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A hyperspace route linked Novor to the Boonta[3] and Junkfort Station systems.[5]

By 231 BBY,[6] during the High Republic Era, a children's medcenter on Novor run by the Sisters of the Ninth Plane paid protection money to the Hutt Clan. At one point, the Hutt Clan sent the Ottegan enforcer Ola Hest to collect the protection fees from the medcenter. After Hest arrived in her frigate, the Sisters refused to pay the Ottegan and told her to leave. In response, she aimed her frigate's thrusters at the building, bringing it down and killing everyone inside, later claiming that the incident had been an accident.[4]

Eventually, Hest left Novor and was tracked down and captured[4] on[7] the Hutt Space planet[8] Nal Hutta[7] by the "Blade of Bardotta"[4]—the title[9] earned by Jedi Master Porter Engle after a five-day siege on[7] the Colonies[1] planet[9] Bardotta.[7] After her capture, the Ottegan was eventually imprisoned aboard the Galactic Republic prison ship Restitution.[4] In 231 BBY,[6] while the Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee was also imprisoned on the Restitution, she was informed of Hest's actions on Novor by fellow prisoner Sestin Blin. Blin then relayed to Dee her belief that it had not in fact been an accident and that the Ottegan had known what she was doing and wanted others to know it, as well.[4]

Novor was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in The High Republic: Tempest Runner, a 2021 audio drama written by Cavan Scott and published as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[10] Phase I.[11] The spelling of the celestial body's name was later confirmed with the release of the audio drama's script in 2022.[4] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Novor system, which contained the planets Novor 18 to Novor 33, was introduced in Secrets of the Sisar Run, a 1997 sourcebook published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[12]
