- "Our vessel is called…the Vessel. I named it not for the container itself, but the space within the container that gives it its value and purpose. To remind me to look beyond the obvious, you know?"
- ―Leox Gyasi
The Vessel was a transport starship piloted by Leox Gyasi of the Byne Guild. It was crewed by the co-pilot Affie Hollow and the navigator Geode. During the High Republic Era, the Vessel was assigned to transport four Jedi to the Starlight Beacon after their primary transport became unavailable. While traveling in hyperspace, the Vessel became stranded in deep space after debris from the Great Hyperspace Disaster obstructed hyperspace lanes. Upon the Byne Guild's dissolution, Gyasi arranged for Hollow to be registered as the Vessel's owner with Galactic Republic authorities.[1]
History
In 228 BBY,[4] the Vessel was used to transport supplies to Oisin along with two Jedi, Eve Byre and Zaph Mora. When it arrived at Oisin, the crew started to land but nearly collided with a Nihil ship that was carrying a raiding party. The ship was maneuvered twenty meters above the raiding ship so the Jedi could jump onto the ship below and breach the hull. It landed on the planet and was emptied of all its cargo. After unloaded, Hollow and her crew flew the Vessel back to Coruscant. The ship was used to transport Reath Silas and Cohmac Vitus to Tolis on a mission to discover if they could find any information about the Nameless and the blight. When they reached the planet and entered the atmosphere, the crew of the Vessel dropped off the two Jedi and then went to collect a sample of Tolisian ore. Once done, the crew flew the Vessel back into orbit to wait for the Jedi to request retrieval from the surface. Hollow detected a signal from a specialized comlink she had given to Byre was coming from the surface of Tolis and ordered the Vessel to land. As they broke orbit, the Vessel suffered a major failure in the fuel regulator. Geode managed to get it under control, but the ship had limited maneuverability. They headed to the surface when they received a call from Silas asking for extraction. The Vessel came in low with its rear hatch open but came under fire from Sicarus's shuttle, causing it to crash. The ship was unable to fly due to a broken power relay inverter but was repaired using a replacement that was removed from the Invictus. After it was repaired, the Vessel was used to transport everyone from Tolis to Coruscant.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 takes place one year and two weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. Since the events of The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6 are set immediately following the fourth issue and depict the expansion of the Stormwall, the expansion must have taken place in the same year. Meanwhile, the events of "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: No Big Deal" include the Stormwall's expansion and also depict the start of Pikka Adren's pregnancy. A later story, "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Sparks Fly," states that Adren is eight months pregnant during its events, indicating that it is set eight months after "No Big Deal," and therefore one year, eight months, and two weeks after the fall of Starlight Beacon. "Sparks Fly" is set during the Battle of Eriadu, an event that begins in The High Republic Adventures Phase III - The Wedding Spectacular. As
Star Wars: The High Republic Chronological Reader's Guide on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places The High Republic: Tears of the Nameless between the events of "No Big Deal" and The Wedding Spectacular, its events must also be set in 228 BBY.
