- "Tomasso's your father?"
"He adopted me. My parents had been killed by the Empire. He raised me, took care of me." - ―Luke Skywalker and Rynn Zenat
Between 19 BBY and 4 ABY,[1] during the Imperial Era, the Spice Runners of Kijimi carried out a raid on the planet Barajin. During the raid,[2] the parents of the human[3] female[4] Rynn Zenat were killed by the Galactic Empire,[3] leaving her orphaned. After the raid, the spice runner Tomasso found Zenat wandering the streets of Barajin's capital city New Alvaros, and was struck by her bravery and impulsive nature that he adopted her, taking her to live with the Spice Runners on[2] the Mid Rim planet[5] Kijimi.[2] In 5 ABY,[6] Zenat[3]—by then a pilot in the New Republic[4]—mentioned her parents passing at the hands of the Empire to the Jedi Luke Skywalker after they arrived on the astronomical object Sauwecer to speak with Tomasso.[3]
