Sauwecer was a terrestrial planet[3] in the Sauwecer system in the Videnda sector of the Outer Rim Territories[1] that was the origin point of Sauweceran tea.[4] In 5 ABY,[5] Sauwecer was visited by a group of individuals including New Republic pilot Rynn Zenat and the Jedi Luke Skywalker to speak with the spice runner Tomasso.[2]
Behind the scenes
The planet Sauwecer first appeared in Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege 2,[3] an issue of the 2024 comic limited series Star Wars: Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege written by Alex Segura and released as part of the Star Wars: Battle of Jakku event on January 15, 2025.[6] However, the planet was referred to as "Souwecer,"[3] a spelling that differed from the spelling of Sauweceran tea used in Segura's novel Poe Dameron: Free Fall.[4] A subsequent issue of the series, Battle of Jakku — Last Stand 3, used the Sauwecer spelling,[2] but the Star Systems of the Galaxy appendix of star systems that was published on June 24, 2025[7] introduced the Sauwecera system and placed it in the Inner Rim Territories,[1] contradicting Republic Under Siege 2's placement of Souwecer in the Outer Rim.[3] The second iteration of the appendix, published on October 13, corrected the discrepancy by moving the renamed Sauwecer system to the Videnda sector in the Outer Rim,[1] matching the comic's placement.[3]
