"Once I got to explorin' that frosty world, I found a little tavern roastin' up a beautiful tenderloin. That hearty hunk of meat—genetically engineered to perfection by Arkanian scientists—was just what I needed to warm me up on a cold night."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Roasted Arkanian Tenderloin was a dish made from a hearty hunk of roasted tenderloin meat that had been genetically engineered by Arkanian scientists of the Colonies planet Arkania. The dish was served in a tavern on the world in which the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs tried it during a culinary tour of the galaxy that he undertook[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY.[2]

Although he had originally come to Arkania to taste the meat of a legendary Arkanian polar drake before learning that they were a protected species, Tuggs believed that the tenderloin had flavors that made it worthy of a legend of its own.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] he included a recipe for it in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, and described the dish as genetically engineered to perfection and just what was needed to warm him up on a cold night.[1]

Behind the scenes

Roasted Arkanian Tenderloin were created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the pies makes use of pork tenderloin, olive oil, minced garlic cloves, cumin, onion powder, oregano, paprika, parsley, kosher salt, and lemon pepper.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
