The Arkanian polar drake was a type of creature from Arkania. It was considered sacred by the Arkanians and was a protected species by law.[2]

The cargo vessel Sketter's Quarrel was carrying an Arkanian polar drake on board while en route to deliver exotic creatures, many of which were illegal to personally own, to Regent Solculvis of the Mol'leaj system. During the journey, the crew of the vessel were killed by kheilwar wasps that had escaped from a damaged cargo container, leaving the vessel dead in space.[1]

Around 34 ABY,[3] the ship was discovered and members of the Sector Rangers catalogued its contents, including the polar drake. Information from the Rangers' file on the case was later published in the book Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was authored by Police Commissioner Exantor Divo.[1]

An Arkanian polar drake was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
