Dac City Stew

Dac City Stew was a traditional seafood stew on the planet Mon Cala. The dish became a signature of the Quarren/Mon Calamari hybrid prep cook Jom Jarusch. The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs found that none of the versions that he tried while visiting Dac City on Mon Cala were as good as Jom's recipe. The chef later included a recipe for the dish in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, in 35 ABY.

Behind the scenes

Dac City Stew was created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the dish makes use of unsalted butter, all-purpose flour, a chopped yellow onion, a chopped green bell pepper, dice celery ribs, minced garlic cloves, cut Andouille sausage, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, thyme, kosher salt, black pepper, cayenne, bay leaves, chicken broth, stewed tomatos, gumbo filé, shrimp, and fresh parsley.^[1]
