"Once I got to explorin' that frosty world, I found a little tavern roastin' up a beautiful tenderloin. That hearty hunk of meat—genetically engineered to perfection by Arkanian scientists—was just what I needed to warm me up on a cold night."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

A small tavern on the icy Colonies planet Arkania served Roasted Arkanian Tenderloin, a hearty meat dish that was genetically engineered by Arkanian scientists. During a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[2] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited Arkania in hopes of tasting an Arkanian polar drake, but after learning that they were revered by the locals, he instead began exploring the world and found the tavern. A serving of the tavern's roast tenderloin warmed up the Artiodac, and he later included a recipe for the dish and mentioned the tavern in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook,[1] which was published in 35 ABY.[2]

Behind the scenes

The tavern was mentioned in the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak.[2]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
