"Still, I hated not bein' able to make a quick stop in Kijimi City to pick up one of my favorite frozen treats—these chunky dessert bars made with ice chiseled straight from the planet's Lha-Mi glacier. Guess I'll have to whip up my own off-world version to hold me over until things on Kijimi cool down a bit more—if that's even possible."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Lha-Mi Glacier Bars were a type of chunky, frozen dessert bar made with ice from the Lha-Mi glacier on the planet Kijimi and sold there in Kijimi City. They consisted of a brown and white crust then a pink cuboid filling with a white topping and red garnish.[1]

During a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[2] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs did not have time to visit Kijimi and avoided it due to the increasing crime rate and First Order presence. Upset that he could not pick up any Lha-Mi Glacier Bars in Kijimi City as they were his favorite frozen treat, he instead created an off-world version of the dish and included the recipe in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was published[1] in 35 ABY.[2] Tuggs stated in the book that he hoped to visit Kijimi again when it was safer,[1] but the world was destroyed by the Final Order later that year.[3]

Behind the scenes

Lha-Mi Glacier Bars were created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak with photography by Ted Thomas. The out-of-universe recipe for the crust of the bars makes use of finely crushed pretzels, unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and vanilla extract. The filling makes use of softened raspberry sorbet, vanilla ice cream, and freeze dried raspberries.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
