Valon Cluster was a fried seaweed dish whose recipe dated back to the Republic Fair on the forest planet Valo. Prior to 35 ABY, the Lepi Jaxxon T. Tumperakki would come into Maz's castle occasionally. Jaxxon gave the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs a meal of ronto ribs with a side of valon clusters to make amends for insulting Tuggs's cooking. The chef didn't think much of the ronto ribs but later included the recipe for valon clusters in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, in 35 ABY.[1]

Behind the scenes

Valon Clusters were created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the dish makes use of cake flour, sparkling water, a large sheet of nori, and vegetable oil for frying.[1]
