- "The only thing faster than how this cold, creamy, cookie-filled terrine was frozen is how quickly it disappeared from my plate!"
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook
Carbonite 'n' Cream Pie was a type of vegetarian terrine served as a dessert by the pastry chefs of the Deep Core world Empress Teta. The creamy, cookie-filled dish had a brown base with a white layer and an uneven brown topping. Carbonite 'n' Cream Pie was served cold, and the chefs on Empress Teta rapidly blast-chilled it during preparation by dipping it into a miniature carbon-freezing chamber.[1]
The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs stopped on Empress Teta during a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY[2] and learned of the chef's creative application of carbonite in the kitchen. He quickly ate up a plateful of Carbonite 'n' Cream Pie that he was served and later included a recipe for the dish in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook,[1] which was published in 35 ABY.[2] He assured readers of the book that the dish could also be prepared using a regular freezer should they not have carbonite available.[1]
Behind the scenes
Carbonite 'n' Cream Pie was created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak with photography by Ted Thomas. The out-of-universe recipe for the dessert makes use of whole and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, chocolate ice cream, melted dark chocolate, and softened vanilla ice cream.[1]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
