"Get over there. Take whatever you need. Hire whomever you need. Maybe, just maybe they're too tired to ask questions and will retire for the rest of the day. If not—if it appears they are coming out and heading for the Cuipernam municipal complex—stop them. Do whatever you must. But keep them from reaching the complex. They must not be allowed to interfere with the vote of the Unity delegation."
Within three minutes of the Jedi and their companions setting out for the municipal building, where the Unity of Community (Ansion's government) was holding the vote, the inn exploded. While en route, the group was attacked by mercenaries sent by Soergg the Hutt, a bossban allied with Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild. These mercenaries drove the Jedi into a building, with snipers at the ready to eliminate them when they attempted to leave. However, the timely appearance of an honor guard from both the Borokii and Januul overclans saved the Jedi. The Alwari warriors eliminated the snipers and began picking off the remaining mercenaries. "Should you win, you will not only have redeemed your honor but earned the right to brag of having defeated the prince of Hapes. Should I win, I gain nothing more than the right to demand that you solicit the pardon of my daughter and of Ambassador Organa Solo for your remarks." "If you'd like to sweeten the pot, Prince Isolder, you need only say so." "Should I win, I want your pledge that Vergill will support the New Republic." "You have my pledge. Providing that Hapes will withhold support if you lose." "You have my pledge."
―Isolder and Thane establishing the terms of the duel
In 25 ABY, PrinceIsolder and ArchonBeed Thane participated in an honor duel. The duel occurred after AmbassadorLeia Organa Solo traveled to Hapes to enlist the help of the Hapes Consortium in the Yuuzhan Vong War. Thane, who was opposed to the Consortium becoming involved in the war, insulted Organa Solo and Isolder's Jedi daughter, Tenel Ka Djo. Isolder, a friend of the Ambassador, responded by slapping Thane across the face, initiating a Hapan honor duel with him. The duel was held shortly thereafter, with the contestants using an ancient form of hand-to-hand combat. Isolder won the duel after the referee called a sudden death round. As a result, the Hapes Consortium decided to enter the war against the extra-galacticYuuzhan Vong invaders. (Read more…)
"No maiming and no killing. It's hard to win hearts and minds when you're cutting off heads and hands."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi, to the Jedi
In 22 BBY, during a diplomatic mission to the planetAnsion undertaken by several members of the Jedi Order, a skirmish took place in the plains on Ansion between the Borokii and the Januul, two Alwarioverclans. Four Jedi—MasterLuminara Unduli, Jedi KnightObi-Wan Kenobi and their PadawansBarriss Offee and Anakin Skywalker—were dispatched to Ansion to ensure it remained in the Republic. After finding the ruling Borokii, the Jedi agreed to help them deal with their traditional enemies, the Januul overclan. After both the Borokii and Januul armies had assembled outside the Januul camp, Kenobi attempted to get both sides to sit down and talk, though this initially failed and fighting broke out. During the skirmish, which was brief (lasting only minutes), the Jedi fought both sides. Once both overclans realized the Jedi had destroyed their finest weapons while avoiding killing anyone, they ceased all insult and assault and agreed to hear the Jedi out. (Read more…)
"To that end, we must take an indirect path to Kuat and strike these designated targets. No sieges, no prolonged attacks—these are surgical strikes against logistical hubs. We destroy these, and the Empire must react by reassigning ships and officers—either to repair damage or to compensate by bolstering efficiency elsewhere."
―Everi Chalis, on attacking Naator and other targets of Operation Ringbreaker
"Now that the war is winding down—" "Winding down. It's not over?" "Pockets of resistance remain, especially on Umbara. Our forces are engaging in several, shall we say, pacification exercises to bring about a lasting peace."
«But then, centuries later, came an invasion by a merciless enemy. Our outer worlds were overrun and the Defense Force pushed back until only Csilla remained unconquered. The enemy gathered all its ships and armies, preparing for what is now known as the Final Assault on Csilla. We knew there was no way we could stand against them, and we knew that if we lost the Chiss faced extinction.»
The weapon and all twenty Mitth, known as the Starflash team, were loaded onto a heavily armed ship and sent into the center of the enemy fleet. When the fleet neared the ship, the Mitth warriors activated the weapon, shooting a massive burst of tachyonic and lightspeed energy into Csilla's sun, which triggered a return blast thousands of times more powerful back at the weapon. The ship and the enemy fleet were destroyed, rendering the Chiss victorious. However, the burst into the sun had disrupted the sun's core, causing it to cool over the next decades, freezing the planet and eventually making Csilla uninhabitable on the surface. The Mitth were elevated to the status of ruling family, and Mitth PatriarchMitth'omo'ross, core name "Thomoro," was granted the Stybla honorific "-odo," adopting the name "Mitth'omo'rossodo." Additionally, she was given the epithet "The Tragic" for her sons' sacrfice. (Read more…)
"I've been monitoring your transmissions, General, and I know that this little chat is being sent to the Jedi Council. So let me make one thing perfectly clear. As long as the Republic resists me, 'innocents' will continue to die. Every death in this war lies firmly at the feet of the Jedi. And now… it is time for you and your passengers to join the ranks of the fallen."
Although Chubor's detachment tried to escort thousands of Mahran civilians off-world to safety, the Separatists were unwilling to leave any survivors, killing the Mahran refugees alongside the Jedi and clonesoldiers. Separatist leaderCountDooku unequivocally blamed the Jedi Order for the massacre, leading the Jedi High Council to finally sanction an operation to assassinate Dooku as a means of stemming the war's casualties. Sometime later, the Malevolence was tracked to the Abregado system by General Koon's own fleet in order to destroy the warship before it could strike once more. While Koon's fleet was destroyed by the Malevolence, Koon was able to escape the destruction and report his findings to the Republic. (Read more…)
After the families ignored the admiral's orders to cease hostilities, Ar'alani's vessel fired plasma spheres, weapons that disabled vessels, at all the combatants. After all eighteen Tahmie and Droc ships had been neutralized, the Vigilant used its tractor beams to haul the disabled ships away from each other. After the skirmish, Ar'alani met with Supreme AdmiralJa'fosk of the Ascendancy's Defense Hierarchy Council, who informed her the Syndicure was infuriated by her intervention as it had humiliated both families. He urged her to return to the planet Sposia, where the Vigilant had been stationed before being called to Jamiron. (Read more…)
"Morning, Senators. You should all consider yourselves to be in my power. As long as everybody behaves, this will be quick and painless. Do nothing, and it will all be over soon."
Infiltrating the Executive Building and disposing of multiple Senate Commando guards along the way, the team took a small group of senators hostage. Bane trapped Palpatine and Senator Orn Free Taa in the Chancellor's office by having Robonino shut down the building's power. Bane then issued an ultimatum to the Supreme Chancellor: Ziro was to be released, or the senators would be executed. Jedi KnightAnakin Skywalker was still in the building, though unarmed, and was knocked out and captured by the hunters. To secure the Hutt's release in exchange for the senators' lives, Bane ordered Taa to take a pardon disc to the Detention Center to release Ziro.
Taa reluctantly complied and was escorted to the prison by the sentinel droidHELIOS-3D. As final leverage against Palpatine, the bounty hunters set up a system of lasers around the senators that would trigger explosives with the slightest touch before leaving the building. Clone troopers of the Coruscant Guard led by Clone CommanderCC-1010 arrived to apprehend Bane's team on the landing platform, but the still-trapped senators allowed the bounty hunters to escape with Ziro. Although Bane remotely activated the explosives as payback for the indignities the Hutt had suffered in prison, a revived Skywalker was able to cut a hole around the senators, and all of them dropped into the room below seconds before the explosives went off. "You were a great Jedi, Hett, and the son of a great Jedi. But you have given yourself over to revenge. It stops here."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi, speaking to A'Sharad Hett
A duel occurred on the planetTatooine in the year17 BBY between two Jedi who had escaped the Jedi Order's extinction in Order 66—A'Sharad Hett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the aftermath of Order 66, Hett returned to his homeworld of Tatooine and became warlord of a number of Tusken Raider clans, as his father had done decades before. Leading the Tuskens in an aggressive campaign against the settlers of Tatooine, Hett and his war band eventually came across the Lars homestead on the outskirts of the Jundland Wastes. Little did he know, however, that the Lars moisture farm was under the covert protection of Jedi Master Kenobi, who had also survived Palpatine's Order 66. After a brief discussion between the two Jedi, during which Hett refused to put an end to his campaign of aggression, Kenobi and Hett found themselves involved in a fierce duel. Despite Hett's skill with wielding two lightsabers, Kenobi was able to defeat the fallen Jedi. Kenobi then made Hett swear on his father's honor not to return to Tatooine again, thus ensuring the continued protection of the Lars Homestead. Hett complied with Kenobi's demands, and agreed to never return to the backwater desert world. (Read more…)
"I do know some of your secrets. The tomb on Korriban in which this holocron was found was not the real tomb of Darth Andeddu. That much my research shows me. If it were found…if Darth Andeddu reawoke…" "Would that make you worthy? Perhaps—if you survive the journey."
―Darth Wyyrlok and the gatekeeper of Darth Andeddu's holocron
Wyyrlok managed to find Andeddu's Keep, where he encountered a previously unknown Sith cult called the Malevolence—one that worshiped Andeddu, and also refused to allow Wyyrlok further entry into their domain. Wyyrlok would not be denied, however, and he killed all the cultists save one named Gerlun, who revived Andeddu's deceased corpse at the cost of his own life. Andeddu then engaged Wyyrlok in a duel of Forceabilities, a battle that Andeddu ultimately lost. With the ancient Sith Lord dead for a second time, Wyyrlok returned Andeddu's body to its sarcophagus and sealed it within.
Wyyrlok's mission was partially unsuccessful, as he was still unable to obtain any information in Andeddu's vast collection of Sith lore that would help him in the preservation of Krayt's life. He did, however, recognize what was truly killing the Dark Lord—his own doubts that he would not survive to see his dream of a stable galaxy under Sith rule fulfilled. (Read more…)
"This… is only the beginning." "Yes. After a thousand years, Korriban is ours again. Welcome home."
―Vindican and Malgus
The Battle of Korriban was a conflict that occurred in the early days of the Great Galactic War between the reconstituted Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, during which the Outer RimplanetKorriban fell back into the control of the Sith. Korriban was the ancestral homeworld of the Sith Empire, and had been a holy site and training ground for adherents to the Sith religion since its inception. Over one thousand years after the Sith's defeat in the Great Hyperspace War and their subsequent exile from Korriban, the dark side users returned to known space in the year 3681 BBY and launched a brutal campaign for dominance in the galaxy'sTingel Arm region. The attack prompted the Republic, which was severely under-prepared for such an assault, to rally its naval forces and send them into the Tingel Arm theater. The effort pulled defense vessels away from other planets, including Korriban, which was left without any substantive military defenses. A vigil over the world was maintained by the Jedi Order alongside a small number of Republic troopers, but that proved to be ineffective against the full force of the Sith naval fleet.
With an armada of over thirty Harrower-class dreadnaughts, the Sith Empire invaded the Horuset system and engaged the small number of Jedi and Republic defenders in orbit over Korriban. Aboard a Republic space station, Jedi PadawanSatele Shan, MasterKao Cen Darach, and several Republic troopers fought in vain against boarding Sith soldiers and Imperial battle droids. During their attempts to escape Korriban and warn the Republic of the Empire's return, the Jedi and troopers were met by the Sith LordDarth Vindican and his apprentice, Malgus. Although Shan and her Master held the two off for a time, the younger Jedi was eventually forced to flee and leave Darach behind to fight alone. While she and one of the troopers escaped the station with the assistance of an incarcerated smuggler, Nico Okarr, Master Darach remained aboard and continued to battle the avenging Sith. The Zabrak Jedi was killed by Malgus during the duel and the remaining Republic and Jedi forces were annihilated, clearing a path for the Sith to return to their homeland. After a thousand years of exile from the holy planet, the Empire retook Korriban and re-established it as a training ground, wherein students studied to continue the war with the Republic. Despite Shan's survival, the recapture was so efficiently and surprisingly performed that an extended period of time passed before the Jedi Council even learned of Korriban's loss. (Read more…)
"Hoba was referencing the long history of Republic instituted demilitarization of the Andoan people, which often led to bloody conflicts like the Battle of Raquish, and the Horos Spine Incident."
―HoloNet News report
The Battle of Raquish was the final engagement of the Andoan Wars, fought between the two groups of planets known as the Spiverelda and the Andoan Free Colonies. Taking place in 39 BBY, it saw the military leader Trench employ ruthless tactics against the Free Colonies' forces in what became a bloody engagement.
Although the battle was a victory for the Spiverelda, in its aftermath the Galactic Republic intervened in the conflict, separating the two sides and demilitarizing the local sector. The outcome of the Battle of Raquish subsequently fueled anti-Republic sentiment in the Aqualish inhabitants of the world Ando. (Read more…)
"Signal intelligence just finished decryption on a batch of Imperial transmissions broadcast before what was left of their fleet turned and ran. The good news is that they're in total chaos. The bad news is that we've got an Imperial holdout on the far side of the moon and they're dug in, waiting for any opportunity to counterattack. Seems no one told them they lost."
The Pathfinders arrived on a transportpiloted by LieutenantShara Bey and took out the base's defenses with the transport's weapons before capturing the base itself. Once inside, they gathered Imperial intelligence revealing the Empire's future plans, indicating that their war with the Empire was not yet over. Afterward, Solo debriefed about the endeavor with other Alliance generals. (Read more…)

"The Battle of Mizra (1466 B.B.Y.) saw the victory of a massive Sith army over the Jedi. It was immortalized by the poet Felloux, who described scores of Sith speeders bearing scores of Sith Lords […] The Sith Lords' drawn lightsabers illuminated the ash-blackened sky, and their whining repulsorlift chariots drowned out the screams of the dying."
"And where were the Republic one year ago when our beloved Sevran, on a diplomatic mission to Starlight Beacon, vanished without trace amidst the attack?"
After being rescued from the Nihil as part of a Galactic Republic and Jedi Order mission in 228 BBY, Sevran returned to Eriadu where she attempted to prove that she was alive. Despite her efforts, however, she had difficulties because of meddling from her uncleTragkul Tarkin, though she was able to have her status restored and took his place as the family's head.
