Yisbon Minor was a terrestrial astronomical object.[1] Around 231 BBY,[2] during the High Republic Era, overwhelming floods occurred on Yisbon Minor and[1] the human Jedi Knight[3] Nib Assek and her Wookiee[1] Padawan[3] Burryaga undertook a rescue mission of settlers who had been affected. While helping citizens into rescue ships, Assek hurt her knee, leaving her unable to walk. The two then tied their cloaks together, allowing Burryaga to carry her across his chest, which they laughed about.[1]

In 228 BBY,[4] Burryaga[1]—by then a Jedi Knight[5]—mentally recalled the Yisbon Minor mission during a service at the Jedi Temple on[1] the Core Worlds[3] planet Coruscant honoring the Jedi High Council members that had fallen during the ongoing conflict between the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic against the Nihil marauders. Burryaga noted that Assek—who had since passed away—had been so small and the weight of carrying her had been nothing to him, before adding that he sometimes dreamt he still carried her.[1]

Behind the scenes

Yisbon Minor was mentioned in the 2025 young-adult novel The High Republic: Into the Light, written by Claudia Gray as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[6]

  4. Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 16, which features the Stormwall going down, takes place one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. The events of The High Republic: Tears of the Nameless also take place in 228 BBY per the reasoning here. As The High Republic: Into the Light states its events occur after the events of Tears of the Nameless and before the Stormwall goes down, they must also take place in that year.
