Plot summary
Ace and the squork
The episode opens with the Jedi Initiates Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs teaming up with the bounty hunter Ansen Strung to rescue a Tooka, who has gotten stuck on top of a tree. The tooka belongs to a Talpiddian, who is worried about his pet. Solay approaches the tooka but the cat is frightened and retreats down a branch. However, the branch snaps. Strung uses his rocket boots to descend down and rescue the tooka before it falls to the ground. The Jedi younglings thank Strung for his help.
The Talpiddian is grateful to Strung, who reassures him that capturing creatures is what he does. The tooka takes a liking to Strung, who returns the creature to the Talpiddian. Shortly later, Brightstar is contacted via holoprojector by Ace Kallisto, who asks to speak with his friend Solay. Kallisto tells Solay that she is at the Kublop Springs spaceport where she is having trouble with a creature she is transporting. Solay offers to help due to her love for animals. Strung convinces the younglings to let him accompany them for the new mission.
Aboard Ace's ship, Kallisto explains that she is transporting a marine reptile known as a squork, which Solay recognizes from her Galactic Creature Guide as rare amphibious lizards that are very fast. Brightstar remarks that the lizard doesn't look very fast. When Strung asks what she did to it, Kallisto asks who the Dowutin is. Strung introduces himself as a former bounty hunter who now tracks creatures for a living. Kallisto introduces herself, adding that she is not the biggest fan of bounty hunters.
Tooba Jinx strikes again
Kallisto is concerned that the squork has been acting tired since she brought it onboard. Solay notices that the room is cold and says that squorks like it warmer. Solay raises the tank's temperature, which makes it more energetic. Kallisto is pleased. Unknown to everyone, Kallisto's Gungan former crew member Tooba Jinx is watching the ship, with plans to steal the squork in order to make money. Realizing that Kallisto is not alone, he decides to create a distraction.
Seeing a Gonk droid walking nearby, he knocks it over, causing the droid to tip over several crates. While the Jedi younglings, Kallisto and Strung rush outside to help the Gonk droid, Jink infiltrates the ship and steals the squork from its tank. He places the squork inside a portable fish tank and scurries away. Meanwhile, the Jedi younglings and their friends help the Gonk droid, which thanks them in Binary. Solay tells the droid that it is welcome.
Returning to the ship, the Jedi younglings and their friends realize it is missing. Solay thinks the squork has snuck out while Kallisto says they have to search the spaceport. Solay offers the services of Strung as a creature tracker but Kallisto is skeptical about working with bounty hunters. She reacts with distaste when Strung crawls onto all fours while searching for squork. He finds a trail of water which leads to the river. Using a pair of macrobinoculars, Kallisto sees Jinx emerging from the river with the squork in his fish tank backpack. Kallisto realizes that Jinx must have tracked her to Tenoo.
Pursuit
Solay is relieved that the squork is safe but Kallisto warns that squork will sell it to someone. Brightstar resolves to stop Jinx. He borrows two speeder bikes from a Mon Calamari youngling and Rodian youngling, explaining that it is for "official Jedi business." The Mon Calamari and Rodian younglings oblige. The Jedi younglings ride one speeder bike while Kallisto and Strung ride the second one. Seeing the Jedi and their friends approaching, Jinx flees on his own speeder bike. During the pursuit, Kallisto and Strung argue about steering the bike and narrowly avoid colliding with the roots of a Tenoo tree.
Meanwhile, the Jedi pursue Jinx in their speeder bike. Brightstar uses their speeder bike to jerk Jinx's speeder, causing it to spin out of control and crash. He flees with the stolen squork through the roots of a Tenoo tree. The Jedi younglings and the adults pursue Jinx on foot. He approaches his starship, which lies beneath a waterfall. As they approach the Gungan, Kallisto warns Strung not to underestimate Jinx but Strung chafes under her. Jinx jumps down the waterfall and crosses the river towards his ship.
The Jedi younglings are unable to Force jump since the waterfall is too high. Seeing Strung's jet boots, Brightstar proposes that Strung fly them down with his jet boots. Kallisto doubts that Strung will be able to carry all of them and criticizes his jet boots. Brightstar and Solay tell the adults to put aside their differences and work together to stop Jink from kidnapping the squork. Strung reluctantly carries the younglings and Kallisto down with difficulty to the forest clearing below.
Working together
As a tired Jinx approaches his starship with the stolen squork, Kallisto catches up with him on foot. Jinx is surprised that she got down here and remotely opens his starship's canopy. She grabs the fish tank backpack and the two engage in a tug of war. The fish tank backpack lands on the grass and the squork jumps out. The younglings and adults pursue the squork, which dodges them using its fast reflexes. The squork runs circles around Nubs and Brightstar. Jinx tries to catch it but it escapes his grasp. Kallisto and Strung also struggle to catch the nimble reptile. Solay tries to reason with the creature while Jinx demands that the squork come with him.
The squork races onto the river and walks on water. The Jedi react with shock. Jinx pursues the squork into the river with the Jedi younglings following suit. Kallisto warns that they will not outswim a Gungan. After some discussion with Strung, they come up with a plan for the Dowutin to carry her while he fires up his rocket boots. Kallisto initially falls off but Strung pulls her to safety. Working together, Kallisto retrieves the squork with the help of Strung. A defeated Jinx climbs out of the river. The younglings and Kallisto tell him to beat up.
Jinx accepts defeat but warns that they will not be so lucky next time. He departs in his starship as Kallisto and the Jedi younglings bid him farewell. Later, Solay returns the squork to his tank aboard Kallisto's starship. Kallisto looks forward to returning the squork to her friend. Speaking with Strung, she says that not all former bounty hunters are bad. Strung jokes about not pushing it while the others laugh.
