Plot summary
Reunion with Braygh
Padawan Wes Vinik and the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs travel to the planet Kundu Minor in a shuttle. After exiting hyperspace, Vinik reminds them of their destination. Brightstar thanks Vinik for getting them to their destination so fast. He adds that Braygh is excited about receiving his droid part. Solay is curious about what the part is for while Nubs speaks in Poobian.
The Jedi shuttle lands on the dusty, desert-covered world. They are greeted by the Besalisk Braygh. Solay introduces Vinik and the astromech droid R0-M1 to Braygh. Brightstar brings her the droid part and Braygh introduces them to her female two-legged droid B3-C4, whom the Jedi regard as cute. Nubs attempts to befriend B3-C4 but the droid walks away, prompting Braygh to warn him that the droid is skittish and scared easily.
The sandstorm and "heist"
A sandstorm blows through the settlement, forcing everyone to flee indoors. B3-C4's photoreceptors are covered by a piece of paper. Nubs attempts to guide the droid but it flees away from the settlement. Braygh follows his droid into the storm. Brightstar, Vinik and R0-M1 follow Braygh and B3-C4 into the sandstorm while Solay and Nubs stay behind. Continuing into the desert, they find Braygh. They spot B3-C4 navigating a ridge. Before they can reach her, she is grabbed by two masked and cloaked figures. Braygh reacts with dismay but the group is unable to follow them due to the intense sandstorm. Vinik and Brightstar convince Braygh that they should take shelter on the covered side of a stony outcrop.
After the storm has passed, the group head to the ridge where B3-C4 was taken but find that the sandstorm has blown away any footprints. Braygh is distraught by the loss of his droid and breaks down crying. Vinik tries to comfort her. When Brightstar asks who would kidnap a droid, Braygh blames the Dostans, describing them as a group of thieves who live in a nearby tent. When Vinik suggests that they should not jump to conclusions about the Dostans' guilt, Braygh responds that she is determined to reclaim her lost droid. The group continue towards the Dostan camp.
Resolving a misunderstanding
From a ridge, Braygh uses a pair of macrobinoculars to spy on the Dostans' camp. He sees their camp and confirms that the Dostans have B3-C4. Fearing that they are going to tear apart her droid for scrap, Braygh navigates down the gorge and confronts the Dostans in their camp. Believing her to be an intruder, they flash their electro-clubs. Braygh demands that they return her droid but they activate their clubs. B3-C4 panics and flees from her table.
Vinik intervenes and convinces the two parties not to fight. However, the Dostans only speak Huttese, which Vinik recognizes. Vinik explains Braygh's predicament to the Dostans. In response, the Dostans say that they found B3-C4 alone in the desert during the sandstorm. They said that they were worried about her and took her in to protect her. Braygh realizes that B3-C4 has fled again and blames the Dostans for the situation. Vinik says that the Dostans were only trying to help.
Cave of the dendroks
Braygh sees that B3 has left a trail leading into a cave. Braygh wants to enter the cave but the Dostans warn that it is too dangerous and block her path. Vinik explains the situation to Braygh, who is determined to rescue her droid. One of the Dostans says that they will take them into the cave but asks Braygh and the Jedi to trust them. Brightstar backs Vinik up and says that he never actually saw them steal anything. Braygh disagrees but Vinik counters that they took B3-C4 in to save her from a sandstorm.
Braygh reluctantly agrees to let the Dostans lead them inside the cave. Before entering the cave, Vinik tasks R0-M1 with watching over the Dostans' camp. Inside the cave, the group discover that the cave is inhabited by dendroks, large tentacled creatures who hunt prey. The lead Dostan warns them that they should be safe if they do not touch anything. Seeing B3-C4's trail, Braygh believes that she has gone deeper into the cave.
Braygh tries to follow but the Dostans instead point to another tunnel which is not covered by tentacles. Braygh is skeptical the path will lead to B3 but Vinik convinces her to trust the Dostans. Following a journey, they discover B3-C4 on the other side of some resting tentacles. Despite the warnings of the Dostans and the Jedi, Braygh rushes towards her droid, dodging tentacles. As she hugs the droids, she dislodges a stone, which strikes one of the dendroks' tentacles. The tentacles begin stirring.
Braygh runs towards the group while carrying her droid. The Dostans use their tentacles to strike the advancing dendrok tentacles. Braygh manages to pass B3 to Vinik but her foot is caught in one of the tentacles. The Dostans use their clubs to free her, prompting Braygh to thank them. The group flee through the tunnel they came but find the exit blocked by more tentacles.
One of the Dostan uses his electro-club to whack the tentacles, allowing the group to proceed. However, a tentacle grabs the Dostan and begins choking him. Braygh rushes to aid the Dostan but is unable to free him. Vinik and Brightstar use their Force powers to force the dendrok to free the dendrok. The group reach the exit of the cave exit. Braygh thanks the Dostans for helping her to rescue B3-C4.
New friends and water
Back at the local station, Braygh thanks the Dostans for their help in bringing B3-C4 home safely. She apologizes for wrongfully judging them. One of the Dostans expresses gratitude but says they have to leave in order to search for more water. Braygh explains that B3-C4 is a water scout. The droid then uses a drill to dig into the ground and releases a sprinkle of water. Braygh says that B3-C4 can help the Dostans find water in dry places but adds that they will need help from the Jedi to find spare parts. They are joined by Solay, Nubs and Brightstar. Brightstar says that the Jedi will be happy to help. The group celebrate their new-found alliance together.
Release and reception
