Rocket boots, also known as hover boots or jet boots, were a form of rocket propulsion system affixed to a pair of boots instead of being worn on the back like a standard jetpack. Cad Bane, a bounty hunter in operation during the Clone Wars, owned a pair of rocket boots and used of them on many occasions throughout his career. Chanath Cha owned a pair of rocket boots during her bounty hunting career; these boots had thrusters integrated directly into the boot's calf, had impressive range and speed, and were capable of operating underwater and in space.
Description
The rocket boot,[2] also known as hover boot[3] or jet boot,[4] was a form of rocket propulsion system affixed to a pair of boots, providing similar functionality to a standard jetpack.[5] While the rocket boot was able to be attached as an external accessory, it could also be directly integrated as part of the boot itself.[6]
History
Nox wears a pair of jet boots
Around 233 BBY,[7] the Dowutin bounty hunter Ansen Strung wore a pair of jet boots while on his job to find the missing Kibbin Figgles on the planet Tenoo.[4] During the Clone Wars, the Duros bounty hunter Cad Bane wore a pair of rocket boots as part of his arsenal to traverse and fight.[5]
In 0 ABY,[8] the human bounty hunter Chanath Cha owned a pair of integrated rocket boots, which she utilized during her job.[6] In 9 ABY,[9] the Iridonian Zabrak Hunter Nox wore a pair of jet boots while she competed in the competitive sporting show Hunters of the Outer Rim.[10]
