Plot summary
Reunion on Bracca
The episode opens with Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs traveling through hyperspace on a shuttle to meet up with Eren Kitt, M1-M1 and the Pikpik. They converse with Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna, who says that Kitt will appreciate all the junk they have brought from Marlaa Jinara's junkyard. Brightstar says it was fun learning about being scrappers on Bracca and thanks Master Zia for letting them borrow the shuttle. Zanna wishes them all the best for their trip while Nubs greets her in Poobian.
The Jedi younglings deliver a cart full of junk to Kitt at Eren's place but find her and M1-M1 distracted. Kitt explains that her friend Tippo and the other Pikpik went to the Badlands last night in order to search for ship-parts. However, she lost contact with them. The Jedi younglings react with concern. Kitt explains that the Badlands are a dangerous place. She had advised Tippo to wait until morning to formulate a plan. However, Tippo was impatient and insisted on living last night. M1-M1 beeps in binary while hovering over them.
Dodging the dianoga family
Brightstar says that he and his fellow Jedi can accompany her. Kitt is relieved but warns that the Badlands are home to dangerous creatures like dianoga. Solay says that they will be careful. Kitt gives the Jedi a ride into the Badlands on her skiff, which Brightstar describes as unwelcoming. As they approach the pools, Solay says that they have to be quiet since the aquatic dianoga have a keen sense of hearing. She warns that if they disturb them, they get upset. Kitt warns them to stay alert and be quiet as they hover over the pool. She tells them that Tippo and his friends were salvaging a nearby starship.
The younglings try to remain silent. Unknown to the group, a family of dianoga is shadowing their skiff. The dianoga surround their skiff and one of them grabs the skiff's steering vane with its tentacle. M1-M1 helps to drive away the dianoga with an electro-shock. Taking advantage of the mother dianoga's hesitation, Kitt hits the accelerator and the skiff rockets through the water, escaping the pack and landing on a shore.
The Nihil pirates
Following their escape from the dianoga, the younglings leave the pool and reach the wrecked starship that Tippo and his friends were salvaging. Through a pair of macrobinoculars, Kitt and Solay discover that the Pikpik have been captured by a pair of Nihil pirates, whom Solay recognizes as Fleever and Jaay. The Nihil and their spider droids have forced the Pikpik to work for them salvaging metal and electronics. The four younglings and M1-M1 confront the Nihil and demand that they release their Pikpik captives.
Fleever and Jaay refuse to release their captives, whom they have put to work salvaging ship parts including a navicomputer. Fleever says this technology will help them plunder more planets but Jaay warns his partner against divulging too much information about the Nihil. Brightstar reiterates their demand but Jaay unleashes three spider droids on the Jedi. While the Jedi battle with the spider droids, Kitt and M1-M1 rush over to Tippo and the Pikpik. She tells them to wait for her signal but Tippo charges ahead against her instructions.
Tippo draws the attention of a spider droid, who fires a blaster bolt at him. The bolt misses and dislodges several pieces of starship components, which slide into the pool. This attracts the attention of a large adult dianoga, which scatters everyone. As Fleever and Jaay flee, they notice that the Pikpik have retrieved a navigational computer and order them to load the device onto their starship. They also order the droids to retreat, leaving the Jedi younglings, Kitt, M1-M1 and Tippo behind with the dianoga.
Rescue mission
Kitt is despondent but Brightstar says that they will figure out a way to get past the dianoga. Tippo wants to handle the dianoga alone but Kitt and Solay advise him not to rush into something without making a plan. After some discussion, Tippo proposes that the Jedi use the Force to create a loud sound and distract the dianoga. Kitt translates. Once they see an opening, they can rush to her skiff. Putting their plan into action, the Jedi collapse a pile of crates into the pool, distracting the dianoga long enough for the group to escape on their skiff.
They then track the Nihil onto their starship. They find the Fleever and Jaay ordering the indentured Pikpik aboard their ship. Solay says that they need to free the Pikpik before the pirates escape. Kitt suggests distracting the pirates while Pikpik suggests that the Jedi create a distraction. While the Nihil force the Pikpik behind a cell with an energy field, the Nihil head off to load the navicomputer. However, they encounter the Jedi younglings outside their ship. The Nihil deploy their spider droids, whom the Jedi younglings lead towards the shore. At Brightstar's signal, Solay and Nubs use the Force to drop several sheets into the pool.
A large dianoga emerges and proceed to crush the spider droids with its tentacles. Jaay and Fleever react with alarm and head towards the navigational computer. Meanwhile, Tippo and Kitt free the Pikpik from their energy field cell. To avoid alerting the pirates, Kitt sends M1-M1 to distract the Nihil pirates. The droid electro-shocks the two pirates, as they are carrying the navicomputer. With the Nihil distracted, the younglings and the Pikpik escape on their skiff, leaving the Nihil behind.
Homecoming
Back at her home, Kitt reunites with her friends and the Pikpik. She tells Tippo not to rush into things. Kitt also thanks the Jedi younglings and Jinara for providing the scrap. Brightstar invites them to visit Jinara's junkyard on Tenoo. Kitt and her friends begin sorting through the scrap metal and electronics.
