Talpiddians were a sentient species that existed in the galaxy. They had acute eyesight at close range, but had difficulty identifying individuals of other species, particularly humans. Their hair could stand on end as a threat gesture, or when they were nervous. Huper Tenrecs was a Talpiddian weapons specialist who worked with the Resistance.[1] The species shared its name with Talpiddi, an astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories.[3]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Talpiddi as one such homeworld with regard to the Talpiddian species.
