Nubs and the Flower Fiasco

"Nubs and the Flower Fiasco" is the fourth short of the animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. It was released on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel on April 3, 2023.^[1]

Official description

While on a mission to get a special flower, nature-lover Nubs uses some high-flying heroics to avoid a creature who also wants it.^[1]

Plot summary

Nubs visits a forest with fellow Jedi initiates Kai Brightstar and Lys Solay. Nubs begins sniffing the various plants, prompting Solay to liken his love for plants to her love for animals. Brightstar reminds his friends about their mission to collect a Zeilla flower for the Jedi Temple on Tenoo. He displays a hologram of the purple flower. Solay suggests splitting up in order to improve their chances of finding the flower. Nubs whistles with delight.

Later, Nubs finds a Zeilla flower perched on a high branch. He climbs the tree only to encounter a large green bird with red and white feathers on its breast. The bird chirps playfully at Nubs, who attempts to reach the flower. However, the bird then uses the branch to catapult Nubs into the air. Nubs is thrown high above the forest. As he descends, he decides to trust in the Force and used his Force powers to glide and land on the bird's back. The startled bird throws him off and Nubs descends with lightsaber into the forest below.

Nubs lands on his feet but is hit on the head with his lightsaber. He spots the Zeilla flower on the opposite branch but the bird plays with him with its talons. Solay and Brightstar soon find Nubs. Solay realizes that the bird is attracted to his lightsaber. At his friends' prompting, Nubs uses his lightsaber to convince the bird to give him a ride towards the Zeilla flower. Nubs cuts the Zeilla flower off the branch, which allows Solay and Brightstar to pick it up. Following a ride, the bird lands Nubs among his friends. Solay and Brightstar thanks Nubs and the bird, with Solay patting the creature.
