Horzao Darr![]() Horzao Darr was a Human male from the isolated planet of Exocron within the Kathol Outback, a largely unexplored section of the galaxy in the Outer Rim Territories. An officer in the Exocron Airfleet, he was a skilled and respected sky-sailor, and commanded the flagship, the sky-dreadnaught Maxion. In 8 ABY, Captain Darr made first contact with representatives of the New Republic when the CR90 corvette FarStar accidentally discovered the planet while searching for the rogue Imperial warlord, Moff Kentor Sarne. The ruling caste of Darr's homeworld, the Devisors, decreed that the New Republic representatives could never leave Exocron in order to maintain the safety and security of the planet. Disgusted at this turn of events, Darr rescued the stranded crew members and allied with the planet's insurgents to free the commander of the FarStar, Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum. This act of defiance would lead to the ending of the Devisors' rule, freeing the planet from their technocracy. Darr continued to serve in the military, and by 19 ABY had been promoted to the rank of Supreme Admiral. He was commander of the Exocron Combined Air-Space Fleet, the successor to the Exocron Airfleet he had served in several years previously, during the attack on Exocron by the Rodian Rei'Kas and his pirate fleet. The assault on the planet was repulsed with the assistance of the Aing-Tii, a race of mysterious Force-wielding aliens from the Kathol Rift. (Read more…) |
Keleman Ciro![]() Keleman Ciro was a Human male from the planet Dolomar. Along with his brother, Noell, he was a member of one of the planet's resistance groups and assisted in the ousting of Imperial forces from his homeworld. Following the liberation of Dolomar, Ciro joined the New Republic military as a soldier, serving with the forces in Brak sector. His service record earned him a transfer to the elite Page's Commandos in 6 ABY. Two years later, Ciro was a part of the commando squad that infiltrated the planet Kal'Shebbol in order to bring down the defensive shields surrounding the main continent. Despite the successful liberation of the planet, the ruler of Kal'Shebbol, Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne, escaped into the Kathol sector with the majority of his forces. Having learned that the Moff had access to a powerful new form of weaponry, Lieutenant Judder Page assigned Ciro to command a mission to chase Sarne down and neutralize him. Although he was a soldier, Ciro was placed in command of the CR90 corvette FarStar, a heavily modified starship that had once been part of Sarne's fleet. Ciro was captured by forces loyal to Moff Sarne in the Kolatill system early in the mission. Taken to the Q'Maere Research Facility within the Kathol Rift, he was physically and mentally tortured and retreated into a catatonic state. Weeks later, he was rescued by the crew of the FarStar, but eventually passed away in the ship's medical bay shortly before the ship arrived in the Kathol system. (Read more…) |
Bungo Bung![]() Bungo Bung was a male Sullustan from the planet Sullust. Despite growing up working on his father's boaboo fungus farm, Bung harbored a desire to pilot starships. Joining SoroSuub Corporation's Transport and Supply Division, he eventually attained the command of the Chubby Gundark, a Nyubba-class cargo barge driver. Assisted by his droid co-pilot, 42-RST—known as Rusti—Bung was the pioneer of the Great Bantha Breakfast Biscuit Run between Sullust and Gastrula in the Outer Rim Territories during the Galactic Civil War. Bung transported Biscuit Baron's Bantha Breakfast Biscuits to the native Gastrulans, despite interference on the first run from Imperial Captain Wankle. Although he made a healthy profit, Bung broke even after spending much of the money on repairs to his ship after an encounter with a Giant Amorphous Bantha Breakfast Biscuit, a strange anomalous lifeform that was the result of the interaction between the preservatives in Bantha Breakfast Biscuits and the stale air in his ship. He survived by defeating the creature with blue sauce, which, as the recommended accompaniment to a Bantha Breakfast Biscuit, proved to be the lifeform's weakness.(Read more…) |
Akanseh![]() Akanseh was a male Mon Calamari doctor from the planet Dac. A philanthropist and accomplished surgeon, he wanted to use his skills to take medical care to the backwater planets of the galaxy. When the Galactic Empire invaded his homeworld, Akanseh fled and avoided becoming a slave. Hiding for several years, he built a fully automated surgical suite staffed by droids and set out to achieve his goals. Since the surgical suite could be broken down and stowed in the hold of a freighter, Akanseh used free-traders to transport the apparatus from world to world. While being ferried between planets, the freighter Akanseh had booked passage on was intercepted by an Interdictor cruiser. The doctor was taken to Moff Kentor Sarne, an Imperial warlord who ruled the Kathol sector. Sarne saw that Akanseh's talents and surgical suite would serve him well, and forced the Mon Calamari to work for him as an interrogator and torturer. Akanseh did his best to act humanely in this role, using persuasion and coercion to gain his subject's secrets without resorting to violence. Despite this, he still used more forceful methods on occasion. In 8 ABY, he was freed from his servitude to the Moff by Page's Commandos of the New Republic during the Battle of Kal'Shebbol. Moff Sarne had fled Kal'Shebbol with the bulk of his fleet, and the New Republic corvette FarStar had been assigned to track him down and neutralize any threat he posed. Akanseh signed onto the crew of the FarStar as chief medical officer, hoping to atone for his actions while in Sarne's service. Several months into the voyage, the vessel stopped at the planet Q'Maere in the Kathol Rift. The planet was the site of the Q'Maere Research Facility, a former scientific outpost that had been converted into a penal colony by Moff Sarne. Many of the inmates had been poorly and brutally treated, and Akanseh elected to stay behind at the outpost to care for them.(Read more…) |
Krudar![]() Krudar was a male Duros gunner who served with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, pirates, and the New Republic during his career. Originally a member of the Rebel Alliance, Krudar left their service after becoming convinced that the organization used their mandate of bringing freedom to the galaxy to justify acts of terrorism and violence. Joining a group of pirates, Krudar befriended the Guudrian Boom, and crewed with them until the gang was destroyed by Imperial forces. Hiding out on the planet Kal'Shebbol in the Kathol sector with Boom, Krudar was present when the New Republic launched an assault on the world to liberate it from the rule of Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Despite the successful freeing of the planet, Moff Sarne managed to escape into the Kathol sector with the majority of his forces. The New Republic authorized the CR90 corvette FarStar to track down the rogue warlord and neutralize any threat he posed to the region, but was forced to recruit from the civilian population of Kal'Shebbol to crew the vessel due to manpower shortages. Krudar joined the mission and convinced the New Republic selectors to accept Boom as well. The Duros served on the FarStar throughout its mission into the Kathol sector, participating in several operations along the way. However, his surly and temperamental attitude did little to endear him to the rest of the crew, and he was involved in several confrontations with other personnel during the mission. Several months after leaving Kal'Shebbol, Krudar participated in the Battle of Kathol System, an engagement that saw the end of Moff Sarne.(Read more…) |
Drigor Tarrens![]() Drigor Tarrens was a male Human scientist from a colony in the Kathol Outback, a largely unexplored sector of space within the Kathol sector. Believing that biological technology was superior to traditional inanimate technology, he joined a group of like-minded scientists known as the Qektoth Confederation who were based at the University of Sanbra's Q'Maere Research Facility within the Kathol Rift. After a series of experiments came back with disappointing results, the scientists left the facility to pursue their own goals, and Tarrens accompanied them. During his time with the Confederation, the organization changed from a group of idealistic scientists trying to save the galaxy from the perceived dangers of traditional technologies, to a militant order that advocated war against those that would use their technology to keep the population of the galaxy "enslaved." Tarrens disagreed with these views, and learned of a project that would use the genetic material of the Confederation's own members to create new life-forms. Before Tarrens could reveal this plan to the rest of the organization, his starfighter exploded upon take-off, and his life was saved through the use of cybernetics. Charged with treason, which was punishable by death, Tarrens fled to the planet Uukaablis and was granted political asylum. There, Tarrens lived in seclusion until the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar sought his help in 8 ABY. They had encountered a biochemical agent created by the Confederation, and needed a cure for it. After learning that he might have been exposed to the agent as well, Tarrens directed them to a research facility in the Qu'mock system. After the FarStar delegation left, Tarrens discovered that he had indeed been infected by the agent, and realized that the crew of the New Republic ship was his only hope. Taking his personal Helix-class light interceptor to the Qu'mock system, Tarrens was instrumental in helping the FarStar to defeat a Qektoth attack cruiser, and recover the data needed to create a cure for the agent.(Read more…) |
Kolatill![]() Kolatill was a planet located in the Kolatill system within the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. A stopping point for ships plying their business on the Trition Trade Route, the planet was located several days' travel from the sector capital, Kal'Shebbol. Noted as one of the sector's major repulsorlift manufacturing centers, Kolatill was ruled by the Kolatill Council until Imperial Moff Kentor Sarne was appointed to administer the Kathol sector in 2 BBY. In 0 ABY, the planet was placed under martial law, and most of the repulsorlift industry was ordered to produce combat speeders for Moff Sarne's forces. In 8 ABY, after the successful liberation of Kal'Shebbol by New Republic forces, a popular uprising on Kolatill overthrew their Imperial governor, Tetrum, and reinstated the Kolatill Council. Following this act of defiance, the escort carrier Kathol Protector arrived in-system and deployed TIE bombers to attack the capital city of Domaz, leaving it ruined and aflame. Kolatill sent out a distress call, which was answered by the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. The vessel provided relief assistance to the planet, and engaged the Kathol Protector in battle after the Imperial vessel returned for a second strike on the world using pathogenic bombs. Between the combined efforts of the FarStar, its fighter squadron, and the Kolatill Defense Force, the planet was spared from further devastation.(Read more…) |
Miktiss![]() Miktiss was a male Saurton warrior from the planet Essowyn in the Trax sector. A loyal supporter of the Des'mar, a faction of Saurtons who supported the mining companies that dominated their homeworld, Miktiss participated in military operations against the Quenno, a group opposed to the presence of the corporations. However, since his actions were illegal, he was eventually brought before the Council of Elders to answer for his crimes. Despite being employed by members of the Council who were Des'mar supporters themselves, he was sentenced to death since the proof of his guilt was absolute. However, his loyalty to the Des'mar cause was so strong that he refused to implicate members of the Council in his actions. As a reward for his sacrifice, he was smuggled off-planet prior to his execution on the proviso that he never returned to Essowyn. Striking out toward the Kathol sector, Miktiss turned to piracy and formed a group known as the Des'maric Pirates around 7 ABY. Stealing several Skipray Blastboats and an Action IV transport to use as the basis of his pirate fleet, he entered into an arrangement with a local crime lord, Crev Bombaasa, who supplied him with freighter travel routes in exchange for a share of the pirates' take. Miktiss used his small fleet to capture several vessels and intimidate primitive backwater planets throughout the Kathol sector.(Read more…) |
Makezh![]() Makezh was a Human male from the planet Danoor in the Kathol Outback, an isolated region of space in the Outer Rim Territories. Abducted by the Aing-Tii, a race of mysterious, Force-using aliens from the Kathol Rift, Makezh was brainwashed and implanted with the compulsion to retrieve a sacred artifact for them. The artifact, known as the Codex, was located within the Kathol Rift, on an alien construct that the Aing-Tii viewed as sacred ground, and were forbidden to set foot on it by their own religious beliefs. The procedures they used left Makezh mentally scarred and amnesic, but with the uncanny ability to accurately navigate the Rift by "listening" to the "voices" within it. Returning to Danoor, Makezh plied his trade as a navigator of the Rift, catering to scientific parties. His navigational methods were instinctive, and they often made his passengers feel ill at ease, but he was considered to be the best Rift navigator on the planet. However, despite his skills, he struggled to earn a living, and was forced to steal food from a local market. Caught and jailed, government scientists began to take an interest in him and his abilities. He was eventually released, but the attention he had received, combined with a series of murders aimed at other navigators, frightened Makezh into believing that he was next in line to be killed. Around the same time, the New Republic vessel FarStar arrived at Danoor, looking to hire a navigator to guide them through the Rift. Representatives from the corvette were directed to Makezh, who initially believed that they were there to kill him. Convinced of their good intentions, the young navigator agreed to assist them as he saw it as an opportunity to leave the planet. Makezh guided the FarStar safely though the Rift, although his methods alarmed and frightened his fellow crew. They realized that, while his flying style was erratic, it was reliable and conceded that they probably would not be able to navigate the Rift without him. As the ship penetrated deeper into the Rift, the compulsion to retrieve the Codex within him grew stronger as he neared the site of the alien construct. Discovering the construct, a landing party from the FarStar retrieved the Codex from it while attempting to free the ship from the station's malfunctioning automated docking system and brought the artifact aboard the ship. The mental programming instilled into the navigator to steal the artifact steadily grew, threatening to drive Makezh mad. When the ship reached the planet Demonsgate on the edge of the Rift, Makezh finally snapped, stole the artifact and an X-wing and went to the surface. There, the Aing-Tii waited to claim the item, and took Makezh with them against his will.(Read more…) |
Rolf Treidum![]() Rolf Treidum was a Human male who served in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. During his service while stationed in the Deep Core, Treidum encountered a young officer named Kentor Sarne and became one of his staunchest supporters. As a result, when Sarne was appointed as Moff of the Kathol sector, Treidum transferred to the Kathol Sector Imperial Fleet and commanded the CR90 corvette Lialic II. Following the death of Emperor Palpatine during the Battle of Endor—a battle that also claimed the life of Treidum's only son—Treidum served Moff Sarne as he withdrew the Kathol sector from the Galactic Empire and set himself up as a warlord. In 8 ABY, following the New Republic's liberation of the planet Kal'Shebbol, Treidum and the Lialic II retreated with Sarne into the deep regions of the Kathol sector. However, when Sarne learned that the New Republic had dispatched the CR90 corvette FarStar to track him down, he ordered Treidum and the Lialic II to return to the Kathol Outback and delay the vessel as much as possible. Although Sarne wished the FarStar to locate him and call in a New Republic strike force, he wanted it to be on his own timetable, and at a place of his choosing. He planned to destroy the New Republic regional forces in one fell swoop, allowing him to reclaim the sector unopposed. As such, Treidum was ordered to only stall the vessel, and not destroy it. Renaming the Lialic II as the Lance of Endor, Treidum posed as a New Republic officer to stir up resentment for the New Republic and the FarStar by portraying the government as a totalitarian regime that wished to bring all planets under its dominion. Treidum fooled several governments with this ruse, including the Kathol Republic and the leaders of the planet Danoor. While Treidum did succeed in delaying the FarStar during its trip through the Kathol Outback, he was unable to enjoy his victory as he was killed during the Battle of Danoor, when the Lialic II was rammed by an Aing-Tii Sanhedrim ship.(Read more…) |
Kier Santage![]() Kier Santage was a Human male who served in the Starfighter Corps of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. After being rescued from an Imperial detention center, Santage joined Rogue Squadron, the Alliance's premier starfighter unit. Under the command of Wedge Antilles, Santage operated under the call sign Rogue Seven. Flying a T-65 X-wing starfighter, Santage participated in several missions against the Fondor Shipyards, and often worked closely with Alliance procurement. In 4 ABY, Santage was serving with the Rogues when they were part of the Alliance Fleet assembled in the Sullust system to strike at the second Death Star orbiting the forest moon of Endor. Adopting the call sign Red Seven—as Commander Antilles had temporarily rechristened the Rogues as Red Squadron to honor the unit that had faced the first Death Star at Yavin—Santage was one of the handful of Rebel pilots to enter the superstructure of the Death Star with the intention of destroying the reactor core. At the rear of the Rebel fighter formation, Santage's X-wing was hit by laser cannon fire from a pursuing TIE fighter; the snubfighter was destroyed, and Santage was killed.(Read more…) |
Lancer Brunou![]() Lancer Brunou was a Human male doctor of archaeology at the University of Byblos during the Galactic Civil War. Loyal to the Galactic Empire, Brunou despaired for the stability of the galaxy following the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY. Feeling helpless that he could not help in restoring order, he resigned from his post and wandered the Outer Rim Territories, visiting archaeological digs. During his travels, he heard that Moff Kentor Sarne was attempting to forge a new empire from his capital planet of Kal'Shebbol in the Kathol sector. Brunou traveled to Kal'Shebbol and joined the Moff's forces. Welcomed by the Moff, Brunou was initially assigned to study examples of the mysterious DarkStryder technology. However, he was quickly reassigned by Sarne to lead science team MS-133 on a mission to the planet Aaris III. Brunou's objectives were to investigate a series of ruins on the planet that belonged to a long-dead civilization, with particular emphasis on what caused the society's destruction. Brunou and his team established a base camp and began excavating the ruins. On day 49 of the expedition, they discovered the Plaque of Victory—a powerful artifact that fed off organic life forces and compelled them to destroy each other—although they were unaware of its true nature. As the influence of the Plaque began to take hold of the members of the science team, they began to experience paranoid delusions and feelings of being watched and spied on. They were subsequently attacked by the primitive descendants of the native Aaris, and Brunou sought to escape the planet. However, the destruction of their shuttle hampered his plans, and he was forced to send a distress signal to Kal'Shebbol in the hopes of a rescue. However, during his time on Aaris III, Kal'Shebbol had fallen to New Republic forces, and the transmission was intercepted by the crew of the CR90 corvette FarStar. Responding to the distress call, they rescued Brunou and his research assistant, Solla Deremot, the last survivors of the team. However, Brunou had brought the Plaque of Victory aboard the FarStar, and it began to exert its influence over the crew. Fortunately for the FarStar's crew, personnel on the corvette figured out that the Plaque was responsible for the change in the behavior of the crew, and jettisoned it out of an airlock.(Read more…) |
Horton Salm![]() Horton Salm was a Human male from the planet Norval II in the Calaron sector of the Outer Rim Territories who was a military officer of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and its successor, the New Republic. An accomplished pilot, leader, and training commander, he preferred to fly Koensayr Manufacturing BTL Y-wing starfighters over newer models, as he felt that the older craft were more reliable and would get him home in one piece. Salm led the Alliance's Gray Squadron at the Battle of Endor, surviving the run through the second Death Star's superstructure. Salm continued to command combat units, leading Aggressor Wing through the Battle of Brentaal IV nine month after Endor, an engagement that saw him promoted to the rank of general. Salm later led the Aggressors during the evacuation of Ciutric IV. By 6.5 ABY, Salm was assigned to the New Republic's Folor Base, training several new starfighter squadrons, including the reformed Rogue Squadron and his own Defender Wing. Despite clashes with Commander Wedge Antilles over Rogue Squadron's lack of discipline, and the presence of Tycho Celchu—a suspected sleeper agent of the Galactic Empire—as the unit's executive officer, Salm and his Defender Wing worked effectively with Rogue Squadron at the battle of Vladet and the First Battle of Borleias. Salm was also one of the officers responsible for devising the plan that would eventually cause the planet Borleias to fall to the New Republic. Following the liberation of the galactic capital, Coruscant, Salm served as a judge presiding over the trial of Tycho Celchu. Celchu had been charged with treason and the murder of Rogue Squadron pilot Corran Horn during the operation to capture Coruscant. Salm was surprised to learn that Horn was in fact not dead, but had been captured by Director Ysanne Isard, the ruler of the Empire, and interred aboard the Super Star Destroyer Lusankya. Briefly resuming training duties, Salm was based at the Borleias starfighter training base before returning to active combat with a B-wing assault group for the New Republic's campaign against the Ciutric Hegemony, a former Imperial faction, in 9 ABY.(Read more…) |
JutkaJutka was a male Tuhgri from the moon Dayark in the Kathol Outback. In 8 ABY, he was commander of a small starship. On route to the planet Danoor in the Nah'Malis system, Jutka's ship was forced to make an emergency maneuver when an Aing-Tii Sanhedrim ship dropped out of hyperspace in front of them. Skimming through an energy tendril from the nearby Kathol Rift—a dense gas cloud fraught with lightstorms—the ship's controls were completely ionized, forcing the eight-being crew to abandon ship in a single escape pod. Drifting in an escape pod, Jutka detected a faint energy reading in the Duhrib Belt, an asteroid field orbiting between the system's fourth and fifth planets. Tracking the signal, the Tuhgri discovered a damaged mining drone that Jutka hoped could be used to signal their homeworld, or attract rescuers to their plight. During their repair operations, the Tuhgri met representatives from the crew of the FarStar, a New Republic vessel, who were engaged in recovering the drone for the government of Danoor. Working together, they salvaged the drone, and Jutka and his crew escaped the asteroid. Eleven years later, in 19 ABY, Jutka served the Kathol Republic as a general and commander of its armed forces. Following a skirmish between Talon Karrde's Wild Karrde and Corsair-class assault starfighters belonging to the Rodian pirate Rei'Kas in the Episol system, Jutka met with Karrde. He warned the smuggler that the Kathol Republic wanted no part in the war between Rei'Kas and Crev Bombaasa—under whose protection Karrde was flying—and that the Rodian would not stop hunting Karrde while he was in his territory.(Read more…) |
Delevar![]() Corporal Delevar was a Human male who served with the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Trained as a medic and a scout, he served with General Crix Madine's SpecForces. In 3 ABY, he was part of the force assigned to the Alliance High Command's Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth. Surviving the Battle of Hoth, Delevar regrouped with the Alliance Fleet, and remained stationed with the armada for a year. In 4 ABY, the Alliance learned that the Galactic Empire was constructing a second Death Star in orbit of the forest moon of Endor, and decided to strike at the superweapon while it was still being built. However, the half-completed battlestation was protected by an energy shield generated from a facility on the surface of the moon. A strike team was organized to infiltrate the moon, and deactivate the shield generator. Delevar volunteered to be part of the team; although he was considered to be a rookie soldier by Major Bren Derlin, the unit commander, he was highly recommended by General Madine. Delevar attended the briefing aboard the Alliance flagship Home One, during which Madine laid out the intended plan of attack, and he later traveled to Endor on board the stolen Imperial Lambda-class T-4a shuttle Tydirium. Following an encounter with an Imperial scout trooper patrol, Delevar and the strike team separated from the command crew led by the former smuggler, General Han Solo. Following orders to rendezvous with the general at 0300, the strike team avoided Imperial patrols until they encountered an All Terrain Scout Transport while making camp for the night. Delevar managed to subdue the walker with a clean shot into its open cockpit with a smoke canister fired from a Caspel launcher that forced the crew to abandon the vehicle. Delevar then participated in the ground engagement of the Battle of Endor, which saw the destruction of the shield generator that subsequently allowed Alliance starfighters to destroy the Death Star.(Read more…) |
Battle of Brentaal IV (Galactic Civil War)![]() The Battle of Brentaal IV was one of the first major engagements between the New Republic and the Galactic Empire, approximately nine months after the Battle of Endor. With the Core Worlds Recopia and Ralltiir supporting the New Republic, the Provisional Council began to look towards liberating more of the Core, with an eye towards eventually taking Coruscant itself. Following a reconnaissance by Rogue Squadron, the planet Brentaal IV was chosen as a target of the Republic's offensive. The Empire, headed by Imperial Grand Vizier Sate Pestage, struggled to hold itself together, threatened both by internal discontent and the fragmenting of their military force into individual warlord holdings. To appease the Cabal, a wealthy and politically connected faction whose members all had investments on the world, Pestage vowed to hold Brentaal IV at all costs. The New Republic hit the world in force, with Admiral Gial Ackbar in command of the task force, supported by Rogue Squadron and Aggressor Wing. Due to tactical ineptness on the part of Imperial Admiral Lon Isoto, the Republic forces were able to successfully take the Brentaal IV moonbase. Further operations allowed the Republic forces to establish a presence on the planet itself, in the city of Oradin, although at a cost—the 181st Imperial Fighter Group, led by Colonel Baron Soontir Fel, had reinforced Brentaal IV. Despite their presence, however, it became clear that Brentaal IV was lost to the New Republic. Director of Imperial Intelligence Ysanne Isard ordered an evacuation of Brentaal IV, sending ships from Coruscant to rescue the wealthy and influential citizens. Fearing that the evacuation would strip Brentaal of its wealth, New Republic forces mobilized to stop the escape. During the battle, Baron Fel was captured by New Republic forces, and Brentaal IV came under firm New Republic control with the withdrawal of Imperial forces. The fallout from the loss of Brentaal IV further split the political leaders of the Empire, mainly due to the plotting of Director Isard. During the course of the Brentaal campaign, she had successfully isolated Pestage and the Cabal from one another, and convinced each party that the other was ultimately to blame for the loss of the planet. Pestage, aware that Isard coveted the throne for herself, began to seek ways to save himself—including dealing with the New Republic—while the Cabal began to plot Pestage's overthrow. For the New Republic, the liberation of the planet was a significant tactical victory that strengthened their foothold in the Core, and even enlisted the services of Baron Fel, who defected to the New Republic in exchange for assistance in locating his wife.(Read more…) |
Treis Sinde![]() Master Treis Sinde was a Human male Imperial Knight who served Emperor Roan Fel and his Empire-in-exile in 137 ABY. Partnered with Master Sigel Dare, he was assigned to sabotage the new Imperious-class Star Destroyer Imperious nearing completion in the shipyard over Dac in order to keep it out of the hands of Darth Krayt's Sith Empire. After successfully planting explosives on board, they discovered that the vessel had been stolen by Admiral Gar Stazi of the Galactic Alliance. Deciding to inform Stazi of the explosives, Sinde and Dare rescued Monia Gahan, a Mon Calamari pilot from Rogue Squadron who had been assigned to slice into the shipyards' defensive system. Together, they rescued other Alliance captives from the recent battle, and sought to steal a shuttle to escape the planet and join up with the Alliance fleet. As they prepared to depart, the Quarren Sith Lord Darth Azard tried to stop them. Sinde engaged the Sith Lord in combat, giving Dare, Gahan and the Alliance pilots time to escape. Using an explosion caused by Dare during the shuttle's escape, Sinde retreated from his fight with Azard, going underground and joining a Mon Calamari resistance group that had formed in the wake of Krayt's proclaimed genocide against them. Allying with the Mon Calamari Rangers, Sinde assisted them by advising them on military tactics and strategies, and helping them defend the Mon Calamari refugees who had taken refuge on the planet's ocean floor. After several months, Sinde was able to contact Emperor Fel on Bastion, and was ordered to return as soon as possible to train new Imperial Knights. Despite feeling that his work on Dac was crucial, he was prepared to obey his Liege's orders. However, at the same time, the Sith scientist Vul Isen created a Sea Leviathan to hunt down the Mon Calamari refugees and suck them dry of their life-energies. When word of its existence reached Sinde, he initially counseled the Rangers to leave it alone and sacrifice the refugees to safeguard the few Ranger units operating on the planet. When Captain Tanquar, leader of the Rangers, made it clear that would not happen, Sinde devised a plan to destroy the Leviathan. While the Rangers attacked Isen's AT-AT Swimmer that was riding herd on the creature, Sinde took command of a number of Devilsquids, six tentacled creatures that hunted Mon Calamari. Sinde directed them to attack the Leviathan, and they dragged it into the depths of the Devil's Crevasse, where the Devilsquids made their home. Returning to Ranger Grotto, Sinde reported to Fel that obtaining transport off the planet was impossible. Fel told the Knight to return when the situation was merely difficult, not impossible, and sent Sinde's former apprentice, Sigel Dare to retrieve him and return him to Bastion. Sinde returned to Bastion following a confrontation with Master Dare, and the offer from Jedi Master Asaak Dan—who had accompanied Dare to Dac—to take his place in guiding and assisting the Mon Calamari Rangers. Although he took up his post training new Imperial Knights, he accompanied Emperor Fel to the planet Agamar, where representatives from the Empire and Jedi Order were meeting to formalize an alliance to oppose the Sith Empire. During the trip to Agamar, Fel admitted to Sinde that training new Knights was not the only reason for ordering Sinde back to Bastion; the Emperor was fearful of corruption, and needed Sinde by his side to counsel him. On Agamar, Sinde, along with his fellow Knights, guarded Fel during the meeting with the Jedi delegation. As the meeting came to a close, Moff Nyna Calixte, head of Imperial Intelligence in Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire, arrived to warn the congregation that the Sith knew of the meeting, and had arrived with the intention of capturing or killing the Emperor. During the subsequent battle with members of the One Sith, Sinde helped Antares Draco, leader of the Imperial Knights, evacuate the Emperor from the battle. Sinde later commanded the Imperial forces sent to defend the Jedi's Hidden Temple on Taivas from Sith-Imperial forces, and was aboard the flagship Jagged Fel during the Battle of Coruscant.(Read more…) |
Jaius Yorub![]() Jaius Yorub was a male Sullustan who served in the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. A naval officer, he was captain of the MC140 Scythe-class main battle cruiser Indomitable during the Sith–Imperial War of 127–130 ABY. The Indomitable served as the flagship of the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet, under the command of Admiral Gar Stazi. During the final engagement of the Sith–Imperial War—the Battle of Caamas in 130 ABY—Stazi took elements of the Core Fleet and began a resistance against the combined forces of the Fel Empire and the One Sith rather than surrender. Yorub accompanied the admiral into self-imposed exile. Over the course of the next seven years, Yorub served Stazi as an aide and confidante while the Core Fleet continued to embody the ideals of the Galactic Alliance. In 137 ABY, Yorub and Stazi planned the theft of the Imperious, the prototype vessel of the new Imperious-class Star Destroyer line, being constructed at the shipyards orbiting the planet Dac. During the subsequent engagement, the Indomitable suffered crippling damage and Yorub was injured. Although Stazi was prepared to sacrifice himself in a suicide attack—by crashing the Indomitable into the shipyards—Yorub knew that the Alliance could not survive without the Duros admiral. He ordered Lieutenant Jhoram Bey, commander of the elite Rogue Squadron, to evacuate the admiral from the Indomitable, which the Weequay achieved by striking Stazi and rendering him unconscious. With Stazi clear of the Indomitable, Yorub guided the vessel into the shipyards, sacrificing his own life by triggering an explosion that destroyed the ship and a third of the docks.(Read more…) |
Mist![]() Mist was a Human female bounty hunter operating during the early years of the New Republic. Born Shella Inion on the planet Kal'Shebbol, she was a minor actress who disappeared from public view after the death of her family and her own partial disfigurement following a suspected Rebel attack on her hometown. Moff Kentor Sarne, the Imperial warlord controlling Kal'Shebbol, had planned and staged the attack to further his own agenda, and to reduce popular support for the Rebel Alliance. Inion reinvented herself as the bounty hunter known only as Mist, utilizing a highly modified suit of Krail Armory's Model 1010 Photo-reactive Personal Armor to disguise both her appearance and gender. Mist was regarded as a capable individual, and she allied herself with Moff Sarne, blaming the Rebellion for the death of her family. When the planet Kal'Shebbol was taken by the New Republic in 8 ABY, Mist was off-planet on an assignment, and was subsequently separated from Sarne. The Moff managed to escape his capital with the bulk of his fleet, and Mist spent several weeks trying to regroup with him and his forces, tracking his movements through the Kathol sector and the Kathol Outback. Eventually succeeding, she led several military missions that encountered the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, which was on a mission to locate Sarne. Mist traveled with Sarne to the planet Kathol, and defended him throughout the Battle of DarkStryder's Fortress, escaping with him to the hyperspace launch gate in orbit around the planet. Sarne planned to activate the launch gate and destroy the New Republic forces battling his own ships in orbit of the planet as part of his plan to reconquer the Kathol sector. Wounded during the engagement, Mist was captured by members of the FarStar's crew. Jessa Dajus, a member of the FarStar crew and a former Intelligence officer in Sarne's Imperial regime, told her that the attack that had claimed the lives of her family had actually been planned and staged by the Moff to incriminate the Rebels. Enraged at having been lied to, Mist switched her allegiances and assisted the crew of the FarStar in defeating Sarne.(Read more…) |
Nishr Taskforce![]() The Nishr Taskforce was a unit of Alliance Special Forces assembled in 0 ABY for the Nishr Campaign, a series of battles fought on the planet Nishr during the Galactic Civil War. Consisting of three platoons of Wilderness Fighters and a single platoon of Pathfinders, the unit was commanded by Major Fisk Csino and styled as a light-armor company, employing numerous ground vehicles to keep the company on the move. Created in response to the forceful suppression of the native Nish by Imperial forces on Nishr, the Nishr Taskforce was assigned to harass the local garrison and encourage the local population to stage a guerrilla-style rebellion. Operating out of several hidden bases, the company—in concert with local forces from the Nishr Resistance—eliminated the Imperial garrison's mobile elements. This forced the Imperials to heavily defend their command base and effectively concede control of the countryside and plains to the Rebel force. As the campaign carried on, Major Csino's request for a unit of Infiltrator commandos to directly assault the garrison's command center was denied. Instead, the Alliance initiated Operation Shadowplay, designed to fool the Imperial planetary commander, Governor-General Vin Kollis, into thinking that the unit had been reinforced with Infiltrators, when in reality they had not been.(Read more…) |
Aaris III![]() Aaris III was a planet located in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Covered in jungle, it was connected to the worlds of Charis, Kolatill and Brolsam via hyperlanes. Aaris III was the homeworld of the Aaris species, a race of reptilian humanoids whose society flourished several thousand years before the Galactic Civil War. Their civilization was almost totally destroyed after a destructive civil war, perpetrated by the Plaque of Victory, an inanimate but sentient relic that could manipulate the feelings of those around it, turning them suspicious, violent and homicidal. The Aaris's cities fell into ruin and were reclaimed by the jungle, and their primitive descendants inhabited the hidden ruins. Four years after the death of Emperor Palpatine at Endor, Aaris III came to the interest of Moff Kentor Sarne, an Imperial warlord who ruled the Kathol sector following the fragmentation of the Empire. He dispatched a science team to the planet under the command of Professor Lancer Brunou to investigate the ruins. While on the surface, the team uncovered the Plaque of Victory, and its influence slowly began to turn the team against one another. Believing that they were being attacked by unseen hostiles, Professor Brunou sent out a distress call to Sarne's capital on Kal'Shebbol, hoping for rescue. After a few days, only three members of the team were left. Brunou's distress signal was intercepted by the FarStar, a New Republic CR90 corvette. During the time that the science team had been on Aaris III, Kal'Shebbol had fallen to the New Republic. The commander of the FarStar, Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum, diverted to Aaris III to investigate the science team's presence on the world and render aid. During rescue operations, the crew of the FarStar came under the influence of the Plaque of Victory after it was brought aboard by one of the survivors. Unlike the science team, however, they soon realized the cause of the negative feelings running through the ship and jettisoned the artifact into space. (Read more…) |
Operation HammerblowOperation Hammerblow was the New Republic Fifth Fleet's live-fire operational readiness exercise. The construction of the Fifth Fleet had been authorized by the New Republic Senate on Supreme Commander Admiral Gial Ackbar's assurances that it was needed to continue the war against the remnants of the Galactic Empire. The Dornean, General Etahn A'baht, was placed in command of the Fifth, and he oversaw the training of the fleet. The final test was a live fire exercise against a simulated target. Although the Fifth would only face drones and computers simulations, the danger to the participating personnel was very real. The planet Bessimir, located fifteen parsecs from Coruscant was chosen as the target, and General A'baht devised an assault plan. The proceedings were observed by high ranking members of the New Republic in the New Republic Defense Force headquarters on Coruscant, including Admiral Ackbar, Chief of State Leia Organa Solo, and the Defense Council. The Fifth engaged the defenses of Bessimir; A'baht effectively used the ships and resources under his command to neutralize the enemy targets. The main weapon used in the defense, a massive hypervelocity cannon capable of firing one hundred and twenty slugs per minute, was taken out by a squadron of new Koensayr Manufacturing BTL-S8 K-wing assault starfighters. The operation was successful, but not without casualties. Despite the loss of one ship, the Ahazi, the Fifth was declared operational following the exercise. (Read more…) |
Kal'Shebbol![]() Kal'Shebbol was the primary planet of the Kal'Shebbol system, in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Kal'Shebbol was located on the Trition Trade Route, the hyperlane that connected the major worlds of the sector to the nearby Minos Cluster. Settled around 392 BBY by escaped Twi'lek slaves from Ryloth, Kal'Shebbol grew from a small settlement into a major trading world only fifty years after its initial colonization as sizable Human and alien communities emigrated to the planet in search of a fresh start. Once the Kathol sector entered the Galactic Republic, Kal'Shebbol, being the closest planet to Republic space, was appointed as the sector capital. With the rise of the Galactic Empire, Kal'Shebbol fell under its auspices. Moff Kentor Sarne was appointed as governor of the Kathol sector in 2 BBY and made Kal'Shebbol his capital. His edicts were oppressive, and the people of Kal'Shebbol suffered under his rule as industry was nationalized and travel to and from the planet was severely restricted. With the death of Emperor Palpatine during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY and the subsequent breakdown of Imperial authority, Sarne withdrew his sector from the Empire, setting up his own personal fiefdom with Kal'Shebbol as its capital. In 8 ABY, a New Republic task force was sent to liberate Kal'Shebbol from Sarne's control. Elements of Page's Commandos—the New Republic's elite commando team—infiltrated the planet with the intention of dropping Kal'Shebbol's defensive shield and capturing Sarne. While the commandos succeeded in lowering the shield, allowing New Republic forces to capture the planet, Sarne managed to escape into the Kathol sector with the majority of his military forces. The New Republic established a new administration to run the planet, appointing an Elomin named Monjai as governor to appease the large alien communities residing on the world. (Read more…) |
Octa Ramis![]() Octa Ramis was a female Human Jedi, originally from the planet Chandrila. Found to be Force-sensitive, Ramis joined the Jedi Order that had been established by Luke Skywalker. Trained to knighthood by Kam and Tionne Solusar, Ramis fought in the Yuuzhan Vong War, a galaxy-spanning conflict between the major galactic powers and the invading extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong. Early in the war, Ramis lost two of her closest companions; her former lover Miko Reglia, and the Twi'lek Jedi Daeshara'cor. Supportive of Jedi Master Kyp Durron's stance that the Jedi should take a proactive role in the conflict, Ramis was on the front lines of the war, serving at several major battles that included the battle of Mon Calamari and both battles of Coruscant. Following the war, Ramis was elevated to the rank of Jedi Master. She served the Order with diligence throughout the Dark Nest Crisis, which saw the insectoid Killik colonies wage war against the Chiss Ascendancy and, later, the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. She participated in the rescue of Master Skywalker and his wife, Mara Jade Skywalker, from a Killik nest on the moon Kr in the Gyuel system alongside several other Jedi Masters during the conflict. Master Ramis continued to serve the Order during the Second Galactic Civil War, being a member of the Jedi Coalition that opposed Jacen Solo's usurping of the Galactic Alliance until he was finally deposed by his own sister. At some point, she was appointed to a position on the Jedi Masters' Council. In 43 ABY, Ramis took on Seha Dorvald as an apprentice. During this time, Ramis played a part in the capture of Valin Horn, son of Jedi Master Corran Horn, who was suffering from a mental breakdown. During the following political crisis, which pitted the Jedi against Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala, Ramis continued to serve the Order with quiet determination. She, along with Durron, Dorvald, and a group of Jedi, later participated in the Jedi overthrow of Natasi Daala in 44 ABY, temporarily placing the Jedi in charge of the Alliance government. Radd MinkerRadd Minker was a male Brubb Jedi Knight serving in the New Jedi Order in 43 ABY. Minker was present in the Jedi Archives of the Jedi Temple on the galactic capital of Coruscant when Jysella Horn, daughter of Jedi Master Corran Horn and Mirax Terrik Horn, suffered a mental breakdown that caused her to view all her fellow Jedi as impostors. Minker, along with Falleen Jedi Natua Wan, attempted to stop her from fleeing the temple, but Horn's desperation allowed her to escape, although she was captured by Galactic Alliance Security shortly thereafter. Several days later, Minker was escorting the Solo family to the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition with Wan when the Falleen Jedi underwent the same mental breakdown that Jysella Horn had suffered. Wan caused panic and chaos at the Exhibition, and Minker was instrumental in subduing the rogue Jedi Knight. (Read more…) |
Battle of Kal'Shebbol![]() The Battle of Kal'Shebbol was fought between forces loyal to Moff Kentor Sarne and the New Republic in 8 ABY. With the New Republic actively looking to neutralize the threat of the various post–Endor Imperial warlords, it turned its attention to Moff Sarne, ruler of the backwater Kathol sector. Rumors had reached the New Republic that Sarne was in possession of dangerous, exotic weapons, so an operation was mounted to remove him from power and liberate his capital, the planet Kal'Shebbol. However, a prolonged campaign against the Moff's holdings was out of the question, as the New Republic's military was thinly stretched. A quick strike—consisting of a commando raid to disable the defense shields while a task force engaged Sarne's fleet—was authorized. Elements of Page's Commandos, led by Lieutenant Judder Page, infiltrated the planet ahead of the main assault force. Proceeding to the Imperial Government Complex, the team accessed the base and discovered that Sarne had a Carrack-class light cruiser hidden in an underground hangar as an escape vehicle. Reasoning that the hangar would contain controls for the defense shield, Page split his force. Page would lead a team to the hangar to shut off the shield and potentially capture Sarne, while the other team would rescue any prisoners in the complex's detention center. As Page and his commandos neared the hangar, they were incapacitated by Sarne, who used against them several of the alien artifacts that were the source of the rumors regarding exotic technology. Sarne used the diversion to escape the planet on board the light cruiser, although a member of Page's team, Keleman Ciro, managed to disable the defense shields after recovering from the artifact's effects. In orbit, Sarne ordered his forces to retreat, fleeing into the depths of the Kathol sector. The New Republic task force completed its liberation of Kal'Shebbol, installing a governor to look after the interests of the population. With Sarne still at large and in possession of dangerous technology, the New Republic authorized the CR90 corvette FarStar to proceed into the Kathol sector to track down the rogue warlord and eliminate any threat he posed. Bozhnee sector![]() The Bozhnee sector was an area of space located in the Outer Rim Territories. Bordering several other sectors—including the Tungra, Videnda, Brema, Juvex and Senex sectors—the Bozhnee sector boasted at least six sentient species that called planets within its borders home. One area of the sector, known as the Ninth Quadrant, had been part of the neighboring Senex-Juvex region until it was stripped from the rule of the region's Ancient Houses by the Galactic Republic several centuries before the Galactic Civil War. An unimportant region of space, the Bozhnee sector survived various galactic wars relatively unscathed. The planet Belsavis, however, was the site of a secret Jedi enclave that sheltered younglings hiding from the Galactic Empire in the wake of the galaxy-wide purge of Jedi known as Order 66. Belsavis was destroyed in 18 BBY by Imperial forces, although the majority of the refugees escaped the planet. Several systems in the region had ties to slavery, including the Garnib, Ossel, and Brodogon systems. In the case of both the Garnib and Ossel systems, this was a holdover from the time when the Ancient Houses of the Senex-Juvex region controlled the Ninth Quadrant—in which these planets were found—and exploited the native populations for slave labor. In 8 ABY, the Bozhnee sector was a source of contention between the remnants of the Empire and the fledgling New Republic. Supreme Commander Admiral Gial Ackbar deployed elements of the New Republic military to the sector in an effort to foil the strategic moves of an Imperial Moff or admiral attempting to stir up trouble in the region. In 12 ABY, Belsavis was the site of an attempt by former Emperor's Hand Roganda Ismaren to reconstitute the Empire with her son, Irek, at the head. The plot was foiled by the intervention of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, New Republic Chief of State Leia Organa Solo, and her husband, Han Solo. (Read more…) |
Tol dosLla![]() Tol dosLla was a Human native of the planet Ukio. The eldest son of Gol dosLa, the Ukian Overliege, dosLla served as the spokesman for the government. A capable and renowned politician, dosLla was expected to succeed his father. In 9 ABY, Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn waged a military campaign against the New Republic. Late in his campaign, Thrawn targeted Ukio, intent on capturing it and acquiring its food production and processing facilities for his military forces. Following a brief engagement against the planet—where Thrawn effectively employed cloaking technology to fool the Ukians into believing that he possessed a superweapon capable of firing through a planetary shield—dosLla negotiated Ukio's surrender to Thrawn. Despite being overmatched, dosLla was able to successfully demand guarantees of safety for the Ukian people and their land during the Imperial occupation. (Read more…) |
Rahm Kota![]() Rahm Kota was a Human male who served as a Jedi Master and General during the Clone Wars. Born on a war-torn world, Kota fought in the trenches during the planet's internal conflicts from the age of ten. At the age of eighteen, Kota met the Jedi Mace Windu, who had been dispatched to the planet to end the conflict peacefully. Discovering Kota's Force-sensitivity, Windu took Kota back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi. Despite being well over the traditional age of acceptance, Kota was schooled in the Force by Master Yoda. He took Falon Grey as his Padawan sometime before the Clone Wars, training him to Knighthood. During the Clone Wars, Kota was made a general in the Grand Army of the Republic. He did not believe that clone troopers were fit for battle, however, and refused to lead them. Instead, he commanded his own militia, comprising volunteers. In 19 BBY, when Order 66 was issued—an emergency contingency that ordered the clone forces to terminate their Jedi commanders, who had been deemed a threat to the Republic—Kota survived the slaughter of his fellow Jedi since there were no clone troopers serving with him. Going into hiding with his militia, Kota allied himself with Alderaanian Senator Bail Organa. Kota began striking at Imperial targets, taking interest in the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader and hoping to draw him into a confrontation. This culminated in a mission to seize a TIE Fighter Construction Facility in orbit of Nar Shaddaa. Kota believed that he could draw Vader out with the strike but was instead confronted by the Dark Lord's secret apprentice. The two dueled in the facility's command center; Kota was beaten and blinded but managed to escape the confrontation. With his confidence shaken—and his connection to the Force seemingly gone—Kota turned to drinking and went into hiding in Cloud City on Bespin. He was discovered by the apprentice he had dueled on Nar Shaddaa, who wanted his help in fighting the Empire. The apprentice—who had been tasked by Vader to create a rebellion with which to oppose Emperor Palpatine—wanted Kota to instruct him in the Force. Kota suspected that the young man before him was the same man who had blinded him, but—through the Force—Kota sensed a bright spot within him that gave him hope that the apprentice could be turned away from the dark side. Kota agreed to help the apprentice and assisted him in making contact with Senator Organa, Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila, and Senator Garm Bel Iblis of Corellia, through a series of missions. Together, they pledged to form the Alliance to Restore the Republic to fight against the Empire. During this time, Kota recovered much of his former self and restored his connection to the Force. During the subsequent meeting of the Corellian Treaty to formally create the Rebellion against the Empire, Vader attacked the assemblage with Imperial forces. The apprentice—who had come to renounce his ties to Vader and the Empire—had attempted to keep the meeting secret but had been discovered. Kota was captured, along with the gathered senators, and taken to the Death Star battlestation under construction in the Horuz system. Kota was to be interrogated and executed by the Emperor himself. The apprentice—who had been left for dead on Corellia—infiltrated the superweapon and fought his way to the prisoners. After engaging and beating Vader in a duel, the apprentice rescued Kota from a Force lightning attack by the Emperor. While the apprentice held off the Emperor, Kota and the senators escaped the Death Star aboard the apprentice's ship, the Rogue Shadow. Regrouping on Kashyyyk, Kota joined in the Declaration of Rebellion, an official proclamation of the group's intent to oppose the Empire's rule. Over the next year, Kota served as a general in the new Alliance, using his own squad of commandos to assault Imperial targets. Captured during a mission to Cato Neimoidia, he was forced to fight in gladiatorial combat for the amusement of the world's ruler, Baron Merillion Tarko. Kota was eventually rescued by Starkiller, a clone of the apprentice. Although Starkiller was more interested in finding Juno Eclipse—who had been captured by the bounty hunter Boba Fett and taken to Vader—than in fighting the Empire, he provided Kota with coordinates and schematics for the cloning facilities located at Timira City on the planet Kamino. Kota led the Alliance Fleet to the water world, engaging an Imperial fleet in battle. With Starkiller's aid, the Alliance claimed victory at Kamino, rescuing Eclipse and capturing Vader. Kota was later responsible for the recruitment of X2, a Force-sensitive clone of his former Padawan, Falon Grey, into the Rebel Alliance. (Read more…) |
Sha'a Gi![]() Sha'a Gi was a Human male from the planet Ord Biniir. As a child, his Force-sensitivity was discovered by Jedi Master Daakman Barrek. Taking Gi as his Padawan, Barrek accompanied him to Coruscant so that the youth could begin his training as a Jedi. During his training, Gi was less than proficient in the martial skills of the Order but excelled in computer system operation. As a result, he aspired to work in the Jedi Archives after passing his Jedi Trials. Gi and his Master formed an effective partnership, gathering intelligence and disrupting pirate activity throughout the Outer Rim Territories. When the Clone Wars broke out in 22 ABY, Gi and Barrek continued their intelligence-gathering operations and discovered a Confederacy of Independent Systems droid factory in operation on the planet Hypori. Barrek called in a Republic task force to destroy the factory, but the reinforcements were ravaged by orbital mines, and the entire force crashed onto the surface of the planet. Gi and Barrek regrouped with several Jedi survivors. Surrounded by droid forces, Barrek was killed by the leader of the Droid Army, a cyborg called General Grievous. As the remaining Jedi took cover in the wreck of a downed Acclamator-class assault ship and waited for Grievous to engage them in battle, Gi—overcome by fear and the loss of his Master—panicked and rushed out into the open, where he was killed by Grievous. Solla Deremot![]() Solla Deremot was a Human female from the planet Kal'Shebbol in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. She studied biology at an educational institution in the Colonies, but when she returned to her homeworld upon completion of her studies, she was co-opted into the service of Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne, who ruled the region. In 8 ABY, Deremot was assigned to science team MS-133 as a research assistant and was part of an expedition to excavate the ruins on a planet called Aaris III. While on the planet, the team discovered the Plaque of Victory, a sentient inanimate artifact that fed off the life-force of those nearby and compelled them to act in paranoid and homicidal ways. As the Plaque's influence spread through the expedition team, the members began to turn on one another, resulting in strange deaths and the destruction of the shuttle that had ferried them to the planet. Deremot, along with Professor Lancer Brunou, the expedition leader, were the sole survivors, and they were rescued by the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. In the months that Deremot and the expedition team had been on Aaris III, Sarne's regime on Kal'Shebbol had been toppled, and the New Republic was searching for the Moff as he had fled his capital. Brunou brought the Plaque of Victory aboard the FarStar with him, however, and a repeat of the situation on the planet below threatened the crew. Managing to realize the danger that the Plaque possessed, the crew ejected the artifact from an airlock, ending its hold on those aboard. (Read more…) |
MS-133MS-133 was an Imperial science team commissioned by Moff Kentor Sarne, warlord of the Outer Rim Territories' Kathol sector. The team was led by Professor Lancer Brunou, a respected archaeologist, and was comprised of scientists, technicians, and soldiers. In 8 ABY, they were assigned to explore a series of extensive ruins on the planet Aaris III that had hosted a civilization thousands of years prior. After several months, the team uncovered a chamber known as the Place of Kastays, and discovered an artifact, the Plaque of Victory. The Plaque, a sentient inanimate lifeform, had been responsible for the civil war that had led to the downfall of Aaris society by inducing feelings of paranoia and homicidal tendencies in those around it. Following the discovery, MS-133 began to experience feelings of being watched from the jungle. Events took a turn for the worst as members of the team began to disappear, and the base camp came under almost nightly attack. Eventually, only Professor Brunou and Solla Deremot, a research assistant, were left alive. Both were rescued by the FarStar, a New Republic CR90 corvette, which was in the process of tracking down Sarne in the Kathol sector. The Plaque, taken aboard the FarStar, began to have a similar effect on the crew of the corvette, until it was jettisoned out of an airlock. (Read more…) |
Huoba Neva![]() Huoba Neva was a female Sullustan from the planet Sullust. The daughter of a SoroSuub Corporation Executive Board member, Neva was accepted to the Imperial Academy, graduating fourth in her class. However, her status as a female non-Human severely stunted her progression through the ranks. After several years of being passed over for promotion, and growing dissatisfied with the Galactic Empire's treatment of non-Human species, she was contacted by Sian Tevv. A political agitator and member of the Sullustan Resistance, Tevv convinced Neva to defect to the Rebel Alliance. Neva found acceptance within the Alliance's ranks, and served both it and its successor state, the New Republic, with dedication. The elimination of an Imperial-backed insurgency in the Illoud system earned her commendations and the command of the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Rebel Star, making her the youngest Sullustan warship commander in the New Republic Navy. Captain Neva died during a mission to rescue the crew of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Liberator from Coruscant in 10 ABY, which had been damaged by Imperial forces while on a scouting mission to the galactic capital. As the Rebel Star emerged from hyperspace, it collided with battle debris in orbit around the planet with the loss of all hands. (Read more…) |
Plaque of Victory![]() The Plaque of Victory was a triangular-shaped metal ingot, containing an entity that fed on the life-force and emotions of other living beings and existed solely to bring about the destruction and downfall of those with whom it came into contact. While not being capable of actively harming a living being—being an inanimate object—the Plaque was able to manipulate and influence individuals around it, causing them to experience heightened feelings of aggression, suspicion, and paranoia toward one another. The resulting feelings would culminate in increasing levels of violence and homicidal behavior. The Plaque of Victory was first discovered on the planet Aaris III, located in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories, several thousand years before the Galactic Civil War, although it was not native to the planet. The Plaque's influence caused civil unrest among the planet's inhabitants, the Aaris, and the Plaque was hidden by a scholar called Kastays in the hope of negating the Plaque's influences. The plan did not work, and the Aaris descended into civil war. Their civilization fell to ruins, and the Plaque remained hidden for several millennia. In 8 ABY, an Imperial science team, MS-133, began excavating the ruins on Aaris III. They rediscovered the Plaque of Victory and fell victim to its manipulations until the last two survivors, Lancer Brunou and Solla Deremot, were rescued from the planet by the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. Aboard the vessel, the Plaque attempted to spread its influence to the crew; however, the FarStar's personnel realized the cause of their problems and jettisoned the Plaque into space, freeing themselves from the artifact's manipulations. Lialic IIThe Lialic II was a Corellian Engineering Corporation CR90 corvette in service to the Galactic Empire. Assigned to the Kathol Sector Imperial Fleet, the Lialic II was commanded by Captain Rolf Treidum. In 4 ABY, following the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, the Kathol sector's Moff, Kentor Sarne, withdrew his sector from the Empire. The Lialic II ended its service to the Empire and became part of Sarne's forces. In 8 ABY, the New Republic liberated the Kathol sector capital of Kal'Shebbol, forcing Sarne to flee into the Kathol Outback. The Lialic II was part of the fleet of ships that accompanied Sarne on his retreat. After learning that the New Republic had tasked the corvette FarStar to hunt him down, Sarne ordered Treidum to take the Lialic II on detached duty to slow their progress. Rechristening the ship as the Lance of Endor, Treidum posed as a New Republic vessel and intimidated worlds throughout the Outback, turning public opinion against the New Republic and denying the FarStar potential allies. During the course of its mission, Treidum used the Lialic II to turn the Kathol Republic against the FarStar, destroying and damaging several of the Republic's naval vessels and leaving the New Republic corvette to face the blame for the Imperial ship's actions. After several months, the Lialic II engaged the FarStar in direct combat during a battle over the planet Danoor. Despite being supported by an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, the Lialic II was destroyed during the battle when it was rammed by an Aing-Tii Sanhedrim ship, which had responded to a call for help from the FarStar's allies, the Danoor Resistance. Zgorth'sth![]() Zgorth'sth was a male Mon Calamari who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic as an agent within Alliance Intelligence during the Galactic Civil War. Formerly a field agent, he was promoted to head the Intentions branch, reporting directly to Chief of Intelligence General Vernan. Zgorth'sth's skills as an analyst helped the Alliance Fleet successfully defeat the Imperial Oplovis Sector Fleet in the Mantooine system when his study of requisition reports led him to believe that the Imperial fleet was intending to destroy the Alliance's army units on the planet Mantooine. Zgorth'sth subsequently served with the Task Force on Alliance Security, a unit dedicated to recording and evaluating potential threats to the Alliance. He edited many of the reports submitted by members of the Task Force, as well as recording his own entries, such as one on the Gand Lu'daal-ud, who had acquired encrypted Alliance Intelligence datafiles. Zgorth'sth continued his role as an intelligence agent when the Alliance transitioned to the New Republic, serving with the direct successor to the Task Force on Alliance Security, the Department of Threat Assessment. The Department continued to keep track of possible threats to the security of the New Republic, and one of Zgorth'sth's reports was circulated among high-ranking generals, admirals, and senators. Noell Ciro![]() Noell Ciro was a Human male from the planet Dolomar. Along with his brother, Keleman, he joined one of his homeworld's resistance groups and assisted in the liberation of the planet from Imperial forces. Seeing a way to leave his home planet, he joined the New Republic military at the same time as his elder sibling. Ciro underwent training as a starfighter pilot and fought in several campaigns against Imperial forces before being assigned to the task force to liberate the planet Kal'Shebbol. The capital of the Kathol sector in the Outer Rim Territories, Kal'Shebbol was the headquarters of Moff Kentor Sarne, an Imperial warlord who had broken away from the Empire after the Battle of Endor. With Kal'Shebbol liberated, Sarne fled from the planet into the depths of the Kathol sector. Ciro was subsequently assigned to the FarStar mission, which was charged with tracking down the rogue warlord and neutralizing any threat he posed. He was transferred at the behest of his brother, who was commanding the mission, and was part of the ship's starfighter complement. Shortly after the beginning of the mission, Ciro participated in the Battle of Kolatill, a conflict against forces loyal to Sarne, wherein the young pilot lost his life. (Read more…) |
Vegath Tist![]() Vegath Tist was a salt-addicted male Arcona and an outcast from his family. A speculator, Tist spent much of his life traveling the galaxy dabbling in get-rich schemes and questionable endeavors in an effort to make a fortune and keep himself supplied with salt. Trading on his skills as a miner, he eventually made his way to Kal'Shebbol, the capital of the Kathol sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Shortly after the liberation of the planet by New Republic forces in 8 ABY, he signed onto the crew of the CR90 corvette FarStar as a mineralogist. The ship was on a mission to track down the former ruler of Kal'Shebbol, Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne, and neutralize the threat he still posed to the region. Tist served on the ship and participated in the Battle of Kathol System, helping to liberate the planet from its ruler, the bio-engineered insectoid known as the DarkStryder, and defeat Sarne and his forces. Tist stayed on the planet following the conflict, hoping to learn a Ta-Ree ability—a manifestation of the Force practiced by the native inhabitants—to cure him of his salt addiction. (Read more…) |
Nek Bwua'tu![]() Nek Bwua'tu was a Bothan male who served in the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet as a naval officer, rising to the rank of admiral and later serving as Chief of Naval Operations. Hailing from the planet Ruweln in the Bothan sector, Bwua'tu joined the Galactic Alliance Defense Force and served against the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong during the Yuuzhan Vong War. In the peacetime period that followed the conflict, Bwua'tu was promoted to the rank of admiral and assigned to command the Alliance Fifth Fleet. He took the Admiral Ackbar, a Victory-class Star Destroyer outfitted with a powerful tractor beam to operate as a pirate-hunter, as his flagship. On the day he was made an admiral, Bwua'tu swore an oath of krevi to always place the interests of the Galactic Alliance above those of himself and his species. He was considered to be a masterful tactician, as he constantly defeated the Thrawn Simulator despite never having actually commanded a fleet engagement. In 36 ABY, Bwua'tu was at the center of the Swarm War against the insectoid Killiks when he was ordered to institute the blockade of the Utegetu Nebula, which contained the planets on which the Killiks lived. During the subsequent battle of the Murgo Choke—where the Killiks attempted to breach the blockade—Bwua'tu lost the Admiral Ackbar to Killik forces who commandeered the vessel. The Bothan Admiral's tactical insights later assisted in recapturing the ship and ending the war during the battle of Tenupe. Bwua'tu continued to serve the Galactic Alliance during the Second Galactic Civil War, which pitted the Alliance against a Confederation of governments led by Corellia and including Bothawui. Despite pressure from his government to resign, Bwua'tu stayed true to his krevi and commanded Alliance forces during the battle of Hapes, the battle of Kuat, and the battle of Roche. By 43 ABY, Bwua'tu had risen to the post of Chief of Naval Operations under Chief of State Natasi Daala's administration and commanded the entire Alliance Navy. During the government's troubles with the Jedi Order, Bwua'tu was attacked by two assailants wielding lightsabers. The assault, perpetrated by a conspiracy that sought to remove Daala and Imperial Head of State Jagged Fel from office, left the Admiral with severe injuries, including a severed arm, and in a coma. After spending several weeks comatose, Bwua'tu regained consciousness to find that the Jedi Order had deposed Daala, and a triumvirate had been formed to rule the Galactic Alliance. Sensing that there was a group carefully orchestrating recent events—including the assault on him—Bwua'tu hid his recovery from his doctors and, along with a select few individuals, sought to unravel the conspiracy. He played a key role in liberating Coruscant from the grip of the Lost Tribe of the Sith several months later. (Read more…) |
Firdaaz![]() "Gammer" Firdaaz was a Human male scout from the planet Socorro who spent the majority of his life exploring other worlds. An alcoholic, Firdaaz spent a lot of his time drunk, but he had a wealth of knowledge and survival skills. In 8 ABY, Firdaaz found himself on Kal'Shebbol, the sector capital of the Kathol sector, and subsequently signed onto the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, which had been assigned to track down the Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Sarne had ruled Kal'Shebbol until the New Republic liberated the planet but had fled during the battle, taking the majority of his fleet with him. Unlike many other members of the crew, Firdaaz had no personal stake in the mission, and he sought no vengeance against Sarne himself—he simply wanted to visit as many planets as possible before he died. Firdaaz served on the FarStar until the ship reached the planet known as Demonsgate on the edge of the Kathol Rift, a volatile area of space filled with dense gas clouds and lightstorms that disrupted sensors, navigational instruments, and communications. He volunteered to remain on the planet to maintain the communications link known as the Lifeline Project, which was the corvette's only means of staying in contact with New Republic forces based on Kal'Shebbol. Varel DeVay![]() Varel DeVay was a Human female xenobiologist from the Core. Growing up in a pampered environment, DeVay enjoyed the finest education, and worked for several research companies throughout the galaxy. Offered a new job on the planet Kal'Shebbol, sector capital of the Kathol sector, she was forced into working on biological weapons for the Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Rescued from her service to him when the New Republic liberated the planet in 8 ABY, DeVay signed on as a member of the crew of the CR90 corvette FarStar, which had been charged with tracking down the rogue Moff after he fled from Kal'Shebbol during the battle. DeVay was assigned to duties in the ship's hydroponics bay, and was later a member of the landing party to the planet Binaros. The party inadvertently brought back the spores of a feeder plant from the surface, and as it grew, the plant began to cause malfunctions within the ship's systems. DeVay was attacked by the plant's mobile feeders, and was instrumental in developing a countermeasure that neutralized the threat. (Read more…) |
Battle of Kolatill![]() The Battle of Kolatill was a small engagement fought in 8 ABY at the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The engagement was contested between the combined forces of the New Republic and the Kolatill Defense Force, and Imperial forces allied to Moff Kentor Sarne, the Imperial warlord of the Kathol sector. That year, Sarne was ousted from his capital, Kal'Shebbol, by New Republic forces. In response, Kolatill overthrew its Imperial governor and declared allegiance to the New Republic. This act of defiance resulted in the escort carrier Kathol Protector bombing the capital city of Domaz. Following the bombing, the Kolatill Council sent out a distress signal to the New Republic forces at Kal'Shebbol. The CR90 corvette FarStar responded to the call, and was in orbit of the planet when the Kathol Protector returned to assault Kolatill for a second time using TIE bombers armed with pathogenic bombs. The New Republic corvette and its starfighter complement engaged the Imperial force, aided by the local TIE/LN starfighters of the Kolatill Defense Force. The battle was fought both in the planet's orbit and within its atmosphere, with the FarStar and a number of its starfighters engaging the Kathol Protector directly while the Kolatill Defense Force and the remainder of the corvette's screening force engaged the escort carrier's bomber force. The joint effort between the New Republic and the Kolatill Defense Force managed to neutralize the threat posed by the pathogenic weapons and drive off the escort carrier. However, the battle was not without cost to the victors—Captain Keleman Ciro, commanding officer of the FarStar, was captured by Imperial forces during the battle, and his younger brother, pilot Noell Ciro, was killed in the engagement.(Read more…) |
Dasha Defano![]() Dasha Defano was a female Wroonian pilot from the planet Wroona. An accomplished flier, Defano was a member of a Wroonian privateer gang before leaving the group after the destruction of a civilian transport during a raid. She joined the Rebel Alliance shortly before the Battle of Endor and flew T-65 X-wing starfighters. Defano continued to serve with the military when the Alliance became the New Republic, and was part of the task force charged with the liberation of the planet Kal'Shebbol, the sector capital of the Kathol sector. Following the flight of Moff Kentor Sarne—Imperial warlord of the sector—from Kal'Shebbol, Defano was transferred to the CR90 corvette FarStar. The vessel had been assigned to track down the rogue Imperial and neutralize any threat he posed to the stability of the region. Defano served as part of the starfighter complement aboard the FarStar for several months and participated in several missions, including the Battle of Kathol System, which saw the eventual defeat of Moff Sarne and his forces.(Read more…) |
JelokJelok was a Human male scientist who served in the forces of Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne in 8 ABY. Assigned to research team MS-133, Jelok was part of an expedition dispatched to the planet Aaris III in the Kathol sector. The team's mission was to conduct an archaeological dig in ruins found on the planet in an effort to discover why the native species, the Aaris, had gone extinct. During the months-long mission, Jelok assisted his colleague, Grigor Tansad, in exploring the Place of Kastays, where he discovered the Plaque of Victory, an inanimate lifeform that influenced the emotions of those beings around it by heightening their suspicions and causing violent behavior. The Plaque of Victory began to affect the team, causing an outbreak of paranoia. Shortly after, MS-133 came under attack by the primitive descendants of the Aaris. As the team began to take casualties, the expedition leader, Doctor Lancer Brunou, ordered the mission to be abandoned. Jelok, feeling that his exploration of the Place of Kastays had reached a critical stage, refused to abandon his research and had to be forcibly removed to the team's shuttle. That night, the shuttle was destroyed, stranding MS-133 on the planet. Jelok did not survive to be rescued by the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, which arrived in orbit in response to a distress call sent by Doctor Brunou.(Read more…) |
Grigor TansadGrigor Tansad was a male scientist who served in the forces of Moff Kentor Sarne, Imperial warlord of the Kathol sector. In 8 ABY, he was assigned to science team MS-133 which was charged with excavating extensive ruins on the planet Aaris III. During the expedition, Tansad was responsible for discovering a chamber filled with pictographs. Tansad theorized that the glyphs corresponded to a dating system used by the Aaris, the native sentient species that had apparently gone extinct several thousand years prior. During the mission, Tansad's fellow scientist, Jelok, discovered the Plaque of Victory, a sentient inanimate artifact that sought to manipulate the beings around it by heightening their suspicions and hostility, eventually turning them against each other. As the team began to suspect that they were being watched from the jungle, they were attacked by the primitive descendants of the Aaris. Tansad was killed in the pictograph chamber by a blow to the head, and his body hidden under the rubble. Ultimately, only two members of the team, Doctor Lancer Brunou and research assistant Solla Deremot, survived to be rescued by the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, which had answered a distress call sent by Brunou.(Read more…) |
Unda Lagor![]() Unda Lagor was a male Quara Aqualish who enjoyed violence, murder, and destruction. After serving with a mercenary group, he went on a wild killing spree through a starport on the planet Kal'Shebbol in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Massacring civilians and Imperial soldiers alike, Lagor was eventually imprisoned by the forces of the planet's ruler, Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne, and kept in the detention cells of the Imperial headquarters. Freed during the New Republic's assault on the planet in 8 ABY, Lagor subsequently joined the crew of the CR90 corvette FarStar when they began recruiting from the planet's civilian population due to a manpower shortage. The New Republic had tasked the ship with tracking down Sarne, who had fled his capital following the liberation of Kal'Shebbol. Lagor, having developed a hatred for the Moff and Imperials in general, claimed he was a political prisoner and was assigned as a heavy weapons specialist. He kept quiet about the reason for his incarceration, fearing that if the truth was known he would be ejected from the ship via an airlock. Lagor remained aboard the vessel until it reached the planet Kathol, where Sarne was finally defeated in a decisive battle.(Read more…) |
Margo "Pepper" Flarestream![]() Margo "Pepper" Flarestream, a Human female born around 35 BBY, defected from the Imperial Academy to the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the early days of the Galactic Civil War. A skilled pilot, Flarestream rose to the rank of Flight Commander, flying Z-95 Headhunters and earning the nickname "Pepper" at some point. Flarestream led the starfighter forces during the evacuation of the Alliance base at Refnar. Although the engagement at Refnar was technically a victory for the Alliance—it evacuated almost 70 percent of all forces—Flarestream became guilt-ridden after her actions led to the destruction of many transports at the hands of an Imperial cruiser. Haunted by her actions, Flarestream requested a transfer away from combat duty and was assigned to Sleeper Cell V-16, based in the capital city of Fabrillan on the planet Malthor. Although she descended into alcoholism, Flarestream was a capable member of the cell. She knew many of the other pilots who frequented Fabrillian's cantinas, and she used her personal Ghtroc Industries freighter, the Pepper's Hope, to extract Alliance operatives on the planet when the need arose. Despite Flarestream's emotional state, General Airen Cracken, head of Alliance Intelligence, was pleased that an individual of her caliber was still able to contribute to the Alliance, and he hoped that she would return to combat duty one day.(Read more…) |
Marja Lang![]() Marja Lang was a Human female who served as the Imperial Vice-Governor of the planet Gandle Ott in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. A staunchly loyal Imperial, she was more dedicated to the ideals of the Empire than Moff Kentor Sarne, the sector's ruler. When Sarne withdrew the sector from the Empire in the wake of the Battle of Endor and established himself as a warlord, Lang's devotion to the Empire ensured that she was frozen out of the personality cult that Sarne developed among his forces that engendered loyalty to him over the Empire. In 8 ABY, Sarne was disposed from his capital on Kal'Shebbol by the New Republic. He retreated to Gandle Ott with his fleet, stripping the system of its defense force and governor before departing. With the planet in confusion after Sarne's departure, Lang found herself the highest ranking Imperial on the planet and moved to secure a power base with her fellow abandoned Imperials with the hopes that she would ascend to the post of governor. However, her position was challenged by General Herron Dade, the native commander of the planetary militia. Several days after the Moff's departure, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar entered orbit in pursuit of Sarne. A delegation from the corvette spent several days on the planet establishing diplomatic ties, and although Lang was not especially welcoming of their presence, she understood the need to treat them pleasantly.(Read more…) |
Gandle Ott![]() Gandle Ott was the fourth planet of the Ott system, located in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The terminus of the Trition Trade Route, Gandle Ott was considered to be the farthest major settled world in the sector. Settled around 592 BBY, Gandle Ott quickly grew into a thriving colony and became the most prominent world in the Kathol sector until Kal'Shebbol was settled two hundred years later. When the Kathol sector was inducted into the Galactic Republic, Kal'Shebbol was designated as the sector capital since it was closer to Republic space. Gandle Ott slid out of prominence, although it was still regarded as a mature civilization despite its relative age. The inhabitants of Gandle Ott were fiercely independent, and the planet was self-sufficient but credit-poor, leading to the world's marginalization in sector politics. During the Galactic Civil War, Gandle Ott came under the rule of the Galactic Empire, and later Moff Kentor Sarne, a warlord who broke away from the Empire following the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY. Four years later, the New Republic liberated Kal'Shebbol from Sarne's rule. The Moff fled into the depths of the sector with his forces, stopping at Gandle Ott to resupply and strip the planet of its Imperial forces and leadership. With the population left in confusion over the abrupt departure of its officials and defense force, two opposing factions—one led by the Imperial Vice-Governor Marja Lang, the other by Gandle Ott native General Herron Dade—competed for control of the planet. A New Republic CR90 corvette, the FarStar, arrived at Gandle Ott shortly after in pursuit of Sarne. A delegation from the crew spent several days on the planet establishing diplomatic relations and obtaining information on Sarne's future plans.(Read more…) |
Chubby Gundark![]() The Chubby Gundark was a SoroSuub Transport Systems Nyubba-class cargo barge driver owned and operated by SoroSuub Corporation during the Galactic Civil War. Assigned to the corporation's Transport and Supply Division, the vessel was captained by the Sullustan Bungo Bung, who crewed the ship alongside his droid co-pilot 42-RST. Capable of holding cargo barges to the fore and aft of its central section, the Chubby Gundark held the record for carrying thirteen barges in formation with an uncontrolled landing over a distance of thirty-five parsecs. Sometime during the Galactic Civil War, the Chubby Gundark became the only vessel to make the Great Bantha Breakfast Biscuit Run between the planets Sullust and Gastrula in the Outer Rim Territories, transporting Bantha Breakfast Biscuits manufactured by the restaurant chain Biscuit Baron. During what would prove to be the final trip on the Run, the Chubby Gundark was almost destroyed by a mutant lifeform known as a Giant Amorphous Bantha Breakfast Biscuit. The creature, hatched from the preservatives contained in the foodstuffs mixed with the stale air in the Chubby Gundark's hold, attempted to eat the ship. The quick reaction of Bung, who figured out that the lifeform's weakness was the blue sauce that accompanied the Bantha Breakfast Biscuits, saved the ship. With one crate of biscuits left, Bung allowed his vessel to be detained by the Imperial-class Star Destroyer commanded by Captain Wankle, an Imperial official of whom Bung had run afoul before. Wankle confiscated the last crate of Bantha Breakfast Biscuits, but Bung regretted to inform the Captain that there was no blue sauce to accompany it.(Read more…) |
Herron Dade![]() General Herron Dade was a Human male from the planet Gandle Ott in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. By 8 ABY, Dade was the highest ranking native in the planet's Imperial-controlled government, and he commanded the planetary militia. Following the defeat of Moff Kentor Sarne—warlord ruler of the Kathol sector—at Kal'Shebbol by the New Republic, Sarne retreated to Gandle Ott with his forces. There, he stripped the planet of its defense force and Governor before departing. Gandle Ott was thrown into chaos, and the former civilian government, the Bank parliament, stepped in to restore order. Dade emerged as one of the leading candidates to take control of the planet, the other being Marja Lang, the Imperial Vice-Governor who had been left behind during Sarne's withdrawal. Dade was kept busy consolidating the remaining security and defense forces, and worried about Gandle Ott's ability to defend itself. When the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar arrived at Gandle Ott in pursuit of Sarne, Dade attempted to gain their support as Gandle Ott's "native son," hoping that their backing, combined with his own popularity among the civilian population, would enable him to ascend to the position of President of the Bank parliament.(Read more…) |
FortressaThe Fortressa was a modified Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 cargo freighter commissioned by the Trade Federation megacorp. Converted to a battleship as part of the Federation's desire to better protect its cargo convoys, the Fortressa was later part of the naval forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems—with whom the Trade Federation had allied themselves—which fought against the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. The Fortressa survived the war, and it was decommissioned and sold off when the Galactic Empire—the successor state to the Republic—nationalized the Trade Federation. Falling into the hands of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the Fortressa served as starfighter carrier and anchored the Alliance Fleet's main battle line. In 0 BBY, the Fortressa engaged the Death Star battlestation in the Horuz system in an effort to destroy the immense superweapon before it became operational. The Death Star used its superlaser on the Fortressa, destroying the vessel in a single shot.(Read more…) |
T'achak T'andar![]() T'achak T'andar was a male Chadra-Fan with a passion for speed and racing. Originally a design engineer, T'andar found the work boring and became a test pilot for prototype airspeeders and landspeeders. He was known to push vehicles to their very limits in order to test them thoroughly, but his penchant for joyriding and racing the prototypes—along with gambling on the result—meant that he could not keep in steady employment. T'andar joined the New Republic, and despite their best efforts to place him in a role where he could not get into trouble, he was eventually transferred to Page's Commandos as a support operative. Following the liberation of Kal'Shebbol in 8 ABY, T'andar was transferred to the CR90 corvette FarStar to serve as its repulsorlift chief. The ship had been assigned to track down the rogue Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne, who had fled from Kal'Shebbol with the majority of his forces in the wake of the New Republic's assault on the planet. T'andar spent the majority of the mission looking after the corvette's small detachment of ground vehicles.(Read more…) |
Kolig![]() Kolig was a male Human bounty hunter and criminal. Serving as the unofficial leader of the bounty hunter group known as Qulok's Fist, he was also the pilot and owner of the organization's vessel, the Steel Fist, a heavily modified YT-1300 light freighter. Presentable and affable, Kolig took the lead in organizing operations, and often went undercover to investigate and appraise potential targets. While working in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories around 8 ABY, Kolig and Qulok's Fist were employed by Moff Kentor Sarne, the local Imperial warlord. They were paid to tail the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, which had been assigned to track Sarne following the Moff's flight from the sector capital of Kal'Shebbol due to its liberation by New Republic forces. Eventually, Kolig and the group engaged the FarStar in the Shintel system at Sarne's request, damaging the corvette before retreating.(Read more…) |
Endurance![]() The Endurance was an Endurance-class fleet carrier in service to the New Republic Defense Force in 12 ABY. Commanded by Admiral Areta Bell, the Endurance was dispatched to assist General Wedge Antilles and the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Lusankya in opposing Imperial Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's capture of the planet Orinda and six other systems along the Entralla Route in the Mid Rim. The Endurance fought alongside the Lusankya at Obredaan, eventually forcing a confrontation with Pellaeon's forces—led by the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Reaper—at Orinda. During the battle, Bell refused to launch the Endurance's squadrons of E-wing escort starfighters until the Reaper's defenses had been sufficiently weakened to allow for a pinpoint tactical strike by her fighters. However, Pellaeon sprung a trap at Orinda using six Interdictors and the Star Dreadnought Dominion, commanded by Admiral Teren Rogriss. The Endurance was caught between the firepower of the two Imperial Star Dreadnoughts, and was swiftly destroyed with the loss of all hands.(Read more…) |
T'Charek Haathi![]() T'Charek Haathi was a Wroonian female who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic as both a starfighter pilot and Special Operations team leader. Born on the planet Wroona, Haathi deplored stability and being bored. She served with the Wroonian defense force, but the rigidity of military life led Haathi and her unit to go rogue and target Imperial shipping. The squadron was decimated in a reprisal attack from the Empire, and Haathi eventually joined the Alliance shortly after the Battle of Yavin alongside two Humans she had met on the planet Rodaj: former Imperial soldier Ivhin Jayme, and technical genius Morgan Q. Raventhorn. A stint in the Alliance's Starfighter Corps led to the same problems that Haathi had encountered serving with the Wroonians, although she was regarded as one of the Alliance's top pilots. As she faced discipline and authority problems, Haathi's superiors decided to transfer her to Special Operations, where she could use her considerable skill-set in a more unregulated atmosphere. Haathi recruited her friends Jayme and Raventhorn into her new team, and they came to specialize in stealing starships. The team was highly successful, and Haathi found her place in the Alliance. Accompanied by a Human medic, Dren Nord, the team stole a YT-1300 light freighter, The Maker, from a spaceport on the planet Zelos II. Taking the ship to an Alliance drop point on the planet Gelgelar, the team was forced to face the Doom Slayer, an experimental assassin droid that the ship's previous owner, the Sluissi Sythluss Leethe, had created and kept aboard the vessel. Although defeated, the Doom Slayer had a self-destruct mechanism built in; the team barely escaped from the drop point in The Maker before the installation was destroyed, though they managed to evacuate most of the base personnel.(Read more…) |
Chin![]() Chin was a Human male smuggler and chief associate of Talon Karrde's organization. A native of the planet Myrkr, Chin was one of Karrde's longest-serving and most trusted associates, and served as the smuggler's chief of operations for Karrde's headquarters on the planet. An expert on Myrkr's native wildlife, Chin trained and domesticated Karrde's pet vornskrs, and was skilled in the removal of ysalamiri from their tree branches. He filled many roles within Karrde's organization, including caring for the vornskrs Sturm and Drang, and crewing aboard Karrde's main vessel, the Wild Karrde. Chin served Karrde throughout the entirety of the Thrawn campaign, and was still part of the organization during the Caamas Document Crisis ten years later. A skilled engineer and gunner, Chin would most often be found manning the communications console during missions. A veteran smuggler, he was middle-aged by 9 ABY, and in later years adopted a grandfatherly approach toward the new members of the organization.(Read more…) |
Uwana Buyer![]() The Uwana Buyer was a SoroSuub Corporation Luxury 5000 space yacht owned and operated by the Human smuggler chief Talon Karrde. Heavily modified by Karrde to suit his needs, the Uwana Buyer was the most extravagant and luxurious vessel in Karrde's fleet. He used it to impress potential clients whom he considered to be gullible enough to be amazed by wealth and riches, but rarely spent much time aboard himself, preferring to operate from aboard the Action VI transport Wild Karrde. Karrde operated the Uwana Buyer through the Galactic Civil War, and he employed it as an incentive for his associates; those who served him well were assigned to crew the yacht to take advantage of its comforts. In 8 ABY, Karrde and his Human second-in-command, Quelev Tapper, took the Uwana Buyer to the planet Varonat to investigate the operations of a Krish crime lord named Gamgalon. During the mission, Tapper was killed, and Karrde saved by a Human woman named Mara Jade.(Read more…) |
Quelev Tapper![]() Quelev Tapper was a Human male smuggler who operated during the Galactic Civil War. Formerly the head of his own organization, Tapper agreed to merge with fellow smuggler Talon Karrde's smuggling group after Imperial forces leveled his headquarters and destroyed three quarters of his operation. Tapper became Karrde's second-in-command and most trusted lieutenant, and his conservative personality countered Karrde's more flamboyant nature. The pair would often personally investigate new business opportunities. In 6 ABY, Tapper accompanied Karrde to the planet Kaal to investigate the rumor that Emperor Palpatine's personal yacht, the Emperor's Shadow, had crash-landed in the world's oceans. Due to Imperial intervention, Tapper was forced to detonate the wreck to save Karrde, a New Republic delegation, and Kaal's ruler, Tirgee Benyalle. In 7 ABY, a deal was struck between Karrde and former smuggler Booster Terrik to supply ex–New Republic pilots Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron with munitions during their war against Ysanne Isard, who had taken control of the Bacta Cartels on Thyferra. Tapper commanded the convoy that traveled to the Graveyard in the Alderaan system to transfer the equipment and was caught in a battle between the Rogues and forces loyal to Isard. In 8 ABY, Tapper accompanied Karrde to Varonat to investigate the operations of the Krish crime lord Gamgalon. While working undercover, the pair were discovered by Gamgalon and his Krish underlings, who planned to kill them. Tapper tried to escape, but was killed during the attempt. Karrde was rescued by former Emperor's Hand, Mara Jade, who was posing as a hyperdrive mechanic named Celina Marniss.(Read more…) |
Halomar Corros![]() Halomar Corros was a Human male general who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Assigned as commander of Reginard Base, Corros oversaw the day-to-day operation of the outpost. Corros was present on the base when a YT-1300 light freighter, the Limping Lady, arrived at the outpost carrying independent spacers who were in possession of a data cartridge containing vital information on Imperial warship movements. He was later present when the base's senior technician, Adonar Dellox, apparently succumbed to the deadly disease triflexia. In reality, he had been murdered by Major Tanya Madera, an Imperial spy who served as the base's second-in-command. Due to Madera's schemes, Reginard Base was almost discovered by Imperial forces, but Corros's command was saved by a group of Rebel agents stationed at the base. Corros was also responsible for recruiting Dirk Harkness into the Alliance. He met the young mechanic during a mission to Kelada, where the General hoped to rendezvous with an Alliance operative, Chessa Dohhenty. Dohhenty was killed by Imperial stormtroopers prior to meeting with Corros, and Harkness, who was her lover, killed several stormtroopers in revenge before fleeing the scene. Corros caught up to the young man in a cantina, Lorana's Labyrinth, and recruited him on the spot.(Read more…) |
Firmus Nantz![]() Admiral Firmus Nantz was a New Republic Fleet commander—and later senior flag officer of the New Republic Defense Force—during the Galactic Civil War. From 4 ABY to 6 ABY, Nantz commanded the First Fleet, and oversaw the New Republic's campaign to liberate the Western Reaches from the rule of the Galactic Empire and the various Imperial warlord states that had arisen in the wake of Emperor Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor. His campaigns blunted or curtailed the plans of several of the new warlords, including Moff Utoxx Prentioch, Superior General Sander Delvardus, and Moff Par Lankin. During this time, Nantz was responsible for recruiting General Lando Calrissian to form a unit to deal with rogue Imperial pirates plaguing New Republic shipping. By 16 ABY, Nantz was the senior flag officer in the fleet, and was considered to command the enhanced fleet formation dispatched to the Koornacht Cluster in that year. The fleet's mission was to oppose the xenophobic Yevetha after they had conducted genocidal massacres of planetary populations of alien species within their home region.(Read more…) |
Shintel![]() Shintel was a planet located in the Shintel system of the Kathol sector, which was part of the Outer Rim Territories. A remote, muddy, and wet world, Shintel's only distinction was that it was the location of a supply depot established by Warlord Moff Kentor Sarne as part of his military forces. Commanded by veteran Imperial Army officer Colonel Heget, the depot was intended to be used by Sarne in the event that the Galactic Empire ever decided to attempt to reabsorb the Kathol sector. In 8 ABY, following Sarne's defeat by New Republic forces at his capital, Kal'Shebbol, the Moff fell back to Shintel to strip the depot of its supplies, simultaneously stranding those members of his forces that were not personally loyal to him on the planet. Shortly thereafter, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar arrived in orbit, tracking Sarne. The commander of the FarStar, Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum, struck a deal with Colonel Heget to assist him in contacting outside help to rescue the marooned Imperial personnel in exchange for information on Sarne's likely destinations.(Read more…) |
Kebbo![]() Kebbo was a Rodian male who served as the Chief Magistrate of the Pembric Security Legion in 8 ABY. A career criminal, Kebbo was also a member of crime lord Crev Bombaasa's cartel on the planet Pembric II in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories, and the Security Legion operated in the cartel's best interests. In 8 ABY, Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne was removed from power in the sector by the New Republic. Bombaasa moved to take control of Pembric II, establishing a puppet government that proclaimed pro-Imperial loyalties to deter New Republic overtures. Kebbo, in his role as head of the Security Legion, enforced Bombaasa's will, arranging for the crime lord's enemies to be detained and keeping the population under control by denying them the right to travel off-world by making it expensive to leave. The same year, Kebbo and Security Legionnaires under his command encountered an undercover landing party from the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar when they landed on the planet seeking Breslin Drake, the manager of the ThrusterBurn Tapcafe. The Rodian was aware of the party's allegiance, information that had been provided to him by Bombaasa, and had been sent to ascertain their intentions while on-planet. He later escorted the delegation to a meeting with Bombaasa himself, where he unsuccessfully attempted to arrest them under suspicion of obtaining transit visas without paying for them.(Read more…) |
Heget![]() Colonel Heget was a Human male Imperial Army officer who served the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. A capable commander and instructor, Heget was a loyal devotee of Emperor Palpatine's New Order. However, he became disillusioned with the constant infighting and political backstabbing that permeated the Empire and sought to remove himself from it by transferring to the remote Kathol sector under Moff Kentor Sarne. Sarne, however, declared himself a warlord following the death of Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY and fostered a personality cult amongst his forces, in which loyalty to him was rewarded over loyalty to the Empire. Heget refused to play Sarne's games and was rewarded by being posted to command Imperial Depot 4290-1 on the backwater planet Shintel. There, he trained his allotted personnel into a fighting unit. In 8 ABY, Sarne was evicted from his capital on Kal'Shebbol by the New Republic. Falling back to Shintel, Sarne took everything of value from the depot and stranded Heget and his troops on the planet by destroying the hyperdrives on all the base's starships. Shortly thereafter, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar arrived in orbit in pursuit of Sarne. Heget offered its crew a deal to help him contact Imperial authorities in exchange for information on Sarne's possible destinations.(Read more…) |
Steel Fist![]() The Steel Fist was a heavily-modified Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 light freighter owned and operated by the bounty hunter Kolig during the early years of the New Republic. The craft also served as the main vessel and command base of Qulok's Fist, a small group of criminals who engaged in bounty hunting, smuggling, slavery, and mercenary work. The ship was used by the gang throughout the Outer Rim Territories, the Minos Cluster, and the Kathol sector. Well-armed, it was a considerable threat to smaller ships and merchant vessels. In 8 ABY, Qulok's Fist used the vessel to tail the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar on the orders of Moff Kentor Sarne, an Imperial warlord who had been ousted from the planet of Kal'Shebbol. Shortly after being contracted for that work, the Steel Fist briefly engaged the FarStar in combat in the Shintel system as part of a trap for the corvette set by Sarne. Following the terms of the agreement, the Steel Fist only harassed the FarStar, causing limited damage before retreating.(Read more…) |
Galtea![]() Galtea was a planet in the system of the same name, located within the Outer Rim Territories' Kathol sector. The world was situated near the edge of known space, on the border of the Marcol Void, an empty region of space thirty light years across. Neutral in galactic politics, Galtea was only of cursory interest to the Galactic Empire, which established a small outpost on the planet and allowed the population a degree of autonomy. In 8 ABY, Galtea played host to the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar when it laid over at the planet for repair and resupply. Due to the actions of an Imperial saboteur known as the Wraith who had become part of the corvette's crew, an Imperial task force of three ships arrived at Galtea to engage the FarStar. Outnumbered, the FarStar was forced to retreat.(Read more…) |
Pembric II![]() Pembric II, also referred to as Pembric 2, was a planet in the Pembric system, located in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Although it was originally terraformed as an agricultural colony, careless actions during the process resulted in unsuitable conditions, creating boggy wetlands and a near-constant light rain to fall. Situated in a remote part of the galaxy, and partially isolated by the presence of a dense asteroid field and radiation fields, Pembric II was marketed by its residents as a resort for gangsters, which eventually evolved into a full-blown shadowport. Soon, a cultured criminal element based themselves off Pembric II, including the Corellian Crev Bombaasa, who controlled a large cartel. The government of Pembric II turned a blind eye to the organized crime due to the large influx of credits they contributed to the planetary economy. During the Galactic Civil War, Pembric II came under the control of the Galactic Empire, and later Warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Both parties utilized Pembric II as a source of raw materials, processing hfredium ore mined from the star system's asteroid field on the planet for shipment to Imperial-allied arms corporations. In 8 ABY, Moff Sarne's control of the sector was broken when New Republic forces evicted him from his capital on Kal'Shebbol. Bombaasa moved quickly, taking control of the planet by establishing a puppet government with pro-Imperial leanings in the hope of dissuading the New Republic from interfering in Pembric II's affairs. That year, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar arrived at Pembric II in search of technical experts to assist them in solving problems that they were experiencing with their ship. They ran afoul of Bombaasa and his new regime, but managed to rescue an imprisoned slicer named Gaelin to assist them.(Read more…) |
Sebiris![]() Sebiris was a planet located in the Sebiris system of the Outer Rim Territories' Kathol sector. A hot jungle world, it was the homeworld of the Sebiri, a primitive species of scaly-hided humanoids. At some point, Sebiris had been visited by an advanced species that the Sebiri referred to as "those who came before," whom they believed created the jungle and performed miracles through the use of glowing charms. The only evidence of their passing was the ruins of a stone temple located within the planet's equatorial region. During the early years of the New Republic, the Imperial saboteur and assassin known as the Wraith visited the planet on a number of occasions to acquire a virulent toxin that he used in the course of his assignments. In 8 ABY, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar traveled to Sebiris to obtain a cure to the toxin, after their commanding officer, Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum, had been afflicted with the poison. They were successful in their mission, although they were hampered by the presence of the Wraith and a confrontation with the native Sebiri.(Read more…) |
Battle of Tiems![]() The Battle of Tiems was an engagement fought between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and Galactic Empire sometime during the Galactic Civil War, in the area surrounding the city of Tiems on the planet of the same name in the Outer Rim Territories. General Carlist Rieekan led a detachment of three Alliance Army infantry regiments to liberate thousands of Alliance prisoners from Imperial facilities located in Tiems. After successfully completing the assignment, their extraction was delayed as the transports were held up by enemy starfighter forces. Forced to defend a fixed position—the landing zone for their extraction—against a numerically superior enemy, Rieekan employed a mobile defense. By knowing that his Imperial counterpart would concentrate his full assault on the weakest part of the Alliance defensive line, Rieekan drew the Imperial forces into an effective trap, destroying half their number. The remaining Imperial soldiers withdrew to Tiems to regroup and reinforce, although by the time the Imperial commander mustered his forces, the Alliance soldiers had been extracted from the planet. Following the battle, the engagement was used by Alliance Special Forces General Crix Madine as the perfect example of the mobile defense tactic during orientation briefings to new Rebel ground forces commanders.(Read more…) |
Boo Rawl![]() Boo Rawl was a Human male independent freight-hauler from the planet Hazzard. A staunch believer in the proposition that individuals were free to run their lives as they chose without governmental interference, Rawl possessed one of the largest private music collections by artists blacklisted by the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order. After plying his trade throughout the galaxy for fifteen years, he joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic in 2 BBY in protest of the Imperial presence on his homeworld. Using his own, personally modified BD-27 transport, the Long Run, Captain Rawl delivered heavy equipment and supplies to Alliance installations across the galaxy. In 3 ABY, shortly after the Battle of Hoth, Rawl was partnered with technician Deen Voorson to steal a Colony Class 23669 power generator from the Kuat Freight Port. Voorson hoped to use family contacts at the freight port to allow them to take the generator before the scheduled Imperial transport arrived. Voorson's nine year old cousin, Shannon, arranged for the Alliance to steal the generator, and Rawl collected the barge containing the generator as planned. Leaving the freight port, the Alliance plan was discovered by the Empire when the real pickup barge arrived. Rawl piloted the Long Run while under fire, jumping to hyperspace and safety.(Read more…) |
Stevan Makintay![]() Stevan Makintay, also known as "Mak," was a Human male born on the planet of Hargeeva. The son of the world's High King, Makintay was raised in wealth and privilege. Despite his heritage, Lord Makintay, as he was known, held the view that all beings were equal. When the Galactic Empire annexed Hargeeva in 7 BBY, Makintay used the opportunity to attend the Imperial Academy and learn how to pilot starfighters. Upon his return, he fell in love with a lowborn commoner, Ketrian Altronel, and announced his intention to marry her. This action, along with his critical opposition of his father's oppression of the lower classes of Hargeevan society, led his father to disinherit Makintay. He also arranged for his son's kidnapping and incarceration at the Imperial penal colony on Garen IV. Makintay escaped with the aid of his friend, the Sullustan Merinda Niemeh, and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Returning to Hargeeva, Makintay established a small Rebel cell on the planet. The movement snowballed, erupting into an uprising that was violently subjugated by Imperial forces under the command of Major Nial Pedrin. Makintay escaped Hargeeva, eventually joining the Alliance proper. Makintay flew T-65 X-wing starfighters for the Alliance, and was stationed at Echo Base on the planet of Hoth as part of the fighter complement. During the evacuation of the base necessitated by its discovery by Imperial forces, Makintay was a member of Rogue Squadron, flying snowspeeders. Flying as Rogue Nine with his gunner, Barlon Hightower, the pair survived the battle and escaped Hoth. Makintay was transferred to Eyrie Base on the planet of Karatha, where he commanded Green Squadron. A shortage of supplies and critical parts for the Alliance forced Makintay to undergo a risky mission to Hargeeva to contact his former fiancée, Ketrian Altronel, and convince her to join the Alliance. Altronel, however, believed that Makintay had abandoned her for a life in space, unaware of his father's machinations. During their meeting, Imperial forces captured them, bounding them over for transport to the Imperial capital of Coruscant. During the transfer, the pair were rescued by friends of Makintay's from Eyrie Base. Altronel agreed to join the Alliance after discovering the truth about Makintay's disappearance and discovering that the Empire had killed her friend, Alikka Nolan. However, Altronel had been intentionally poisoned with Xebonica during the intended trip to Coruscant, and was regularly being dosed with the antidote, Trypanid. Standard Imperial procedure for Class A Security Risks such as Altronel—whose metallurgical work had created a new alloy with impressive heat-absorption capabilities—was to poison them during transport from secure areas and keep the effects at bay to prevent them from defecting or becoming a liability as prisoners. Although the Alliance was aware of the treatment for such poisonings, the standard treatment was not working. Makintay and Merinda Niemeh traveled back to Hargeeva to capture Major Pedrin, who had infected Altronel in the first place, as they believed that she had been poisoned with a new compound only he could cure. While their mission was successful, upon their return to Eyrie Base Makintay discovered that Altronel's condition was not caused by Pedrin, but by a fellow Hargeevan, Assistant Medic Astina Griek, who blamed Altronel's work for the deaths of her husband and son at the hands of the Empire. Makintay confronted Griek, who was also in possession of an antidote to cure Altronel. Subsequently, a struggle with Pedrin ensued as he sought to escape Alliance custody. Makintay was stabbed in the back, and Griek was killed by a blaster fired by Pedrin. The Major was then stunned and captured by Alliance forces, Altronel was cured with Griek's antidote, and Makintay recovered from his injuries.(Read more…) |
Peshk Vri'syk![]() Peshk Vri'syk was a male Bothan pilot who served in Rogue Squadron, the New Republic's elite starfighter unit, in 6 ABY. Born on Bothawui, Vri'syk was trained in flight combat at the Bothan Martial Academy. His performance earned him an appointment to Rogue Squadron when the unit was reconstituted in 6 ABY by Commander Wedge Antilles. Vri'syk's assignment was also politically motivated; the Bothans wanted a member of their species represented in the New Republic's flagship squadron because their spies had uncovered the location of the second Death Star, which Rogue Squadron subsequently assisted in destroying. The New Republic assented to the request. Although inexperienced, Vri'syk was an excellent pilot, and his training scores—along with the rest of the squadron's new recruits—were better than those of many front-line combat units. Vri'syk saw action at Chorax, and served in the effort to extract New Republic assets from the planet Hensara III. He survived a covert stormtrooper attack against the Rogue Squadron base on the planet Talasea, and participated in a retaliatory strike against Admiral Devlia, the Imperial officer who had ordered the assault. Vri'syk was killed during the First Battle of Borleias when a heavy ion cannon blast destroyed his X-wing starfighter. His legacy was later exaggerated by the Bothans to advance their political achievements. (Read more…) |
Zafiel SnoppsZafiel Snopps was a male Human from the planet Corulag who was one of the dominant political figures on his homeworld for several decades. A businessman and captain of industry, Snopps earned appointments to represent Corulag as its senator in the Galactic Republic Senate, as well as its successor, the Imperial Senate. When the Imperial Senate was disbanded by Galactic Emperor Palpatine in 0 BBY, Snopps was granted a special dispensation to serve as Corulag's Imperial governor. In that position, he presided over Corulag's ruling body, the House of Citizens, and worked to ensure that the planet's industry and economy thrived under his stewardship. Snopps' position on Corulag afforded him great power and prestige, and he was often left to control the affairs of the Bormea sector while its Moff, Jamson Caglio, was on the galactic capital Coruscant advising the Emperor. Well liked by the citizens of Corulag, Snopps was elected to represent the planet in the New Republic Senate once his homeworld decided to join the new galactic coalition.(Read more…) |
Seth Cambriel![]() Seth Cambriel was a Human male who resided on the resort planet Spira during the Galactic Civil War. A self-made multi-millionaire playboy, Cambriel posed as a genteel gentlemen of leisure, moving within the high society of Spira's elite while also working as a spy for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Using his access to high-ranking Imperial officials, along with a network of informants who had no idea of his true allegiance, he passed on sensitive information to the Alliance. Cambriel worked alongside Harbold Taft, a fellow spy and infiltrator, as a two-man cell on the planet. During the Galactic Civil War, Cambriel and a group of Rebel agents entered the 345th annual Spira Regatta Open, a famous yacht race, as a cover to recover Alliance supplies from a derelict alien spacecraft known as the wreck that was submerged in Spira's oceans. The supplies, dropped on Spira by a smuggler and hidden by Cambriel and Taft, were vital to Alliance operations in the sector. Despite the threat of Imperial interference—and the unwanted presence of Regenald Hanniper Snopps III, son of Corulag's Imperial governor, Zafiel Snopps—Cambriel and the agents successfully recovered the supplies and smuggled them off-planet. Roark Garnet![]() Roark Garnet was a Human male from the planet Socorro. During the Galactic Civil War, he operated as a smuggler, much to the dismay of his parents. He piloted a HWK-290 light freighter, the Moldy Crow, until his sister, Neena, was killed by the Tiss'shar gunfighter Uul-Rha-Shan. Upon her passing, Garnet inherited her freighter, the Dorion Discus, and used the Moldy Crow to pay off a loan that he had been forced to take out from crime lord Grappa the Hutt to cover his running expenses. Styling himself as an adventurer and entrepreneur, Garnet loved the life he led and viewed his lifestyle as true freedom. Garnet had many adventures throughout the galaxy, and often traveled with companions. Joh Yowza, a Yuzzum, worked with Garnet after stowing away aboard his ship, before leaving to join the band Evar Orbus and His Galactic Jizz-Wailers. Hawk Carrow served as Garnet's most regular co-pilot, as did the Wookiee Nagraoao. Garnet also traveled with his daughter Jill, her grandfather Jackson Farseeker, and the bounty hunter Tantos Dree. While he had no political leanings toward either the Galactic Empire or the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Garnet hated the Empire for making it hard for him to earn a living through their restrictive laws and edicts, and had several run-ins with their military forces and law enforcement agencies. However, the Socorran was willing to work for the Alliance on at least one occasion when he was contracted to ferry supplies by one of their operatives, Selnia Harbright.(Read more…) |
Scimitar assault wing![]() The Scimitar assault wing was an elite bomber unit operating within the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. Led by Captain Tomax Bren, the Scimitar assault wing—also known as "White Death" due to the light coloration of their starfighters—was based off the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Retribution, and assigned to the Qeimet fleet. Comprised of six squadrons, the Scimitar assault wing employed a variety of craft to achieve their mission profiles. Their primary craft was the TIE/sa bomber, with TIE/LN starfighters and TIE/rc starfighters providing support along with MT/191 drop-ships for coordinated ground assault landings. The unit made its reputation during the Hook Nebula campaign, where Captain Bren's tactics and strategies—many of which breached Imperial High Command's guidelines on the use of TIE bombers—resulted in several victories, and the wing was credited for playing an integral part in the elimination of the Alliance to Restore the Republic presence in the Hook Nebula region. The Imperial retreat following the Alliance victory at the Battle of Endor saw the Scimitar assault wing change mission profiles, and they were increasingly called upon to cover retreats and evacuations. Still considered an elite unit, the wing survived the post-Endor period through inaction until the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Unknown Regions. Thrawn rearmed the Scimitar assault wing with the new Scimitar assault bomber, a craft designed in conjunction with Captain Bren. Equipped with seventy-two of the new craft, the Scimitar assault wing was employed as a front-line asset, and was instrumental in the assault on the planet Mrisst during Thrawn's campaign against the Alliance's successor state, the New Republic. Following Thrawn's defeat at the battle of Bilbringi, the Scimitar assault wing was left to languish, and Captain Zgorth'sth of the New Republic's Department of Threat Assessment postulated that Bren would soon lead the unit to defect to a Imperial warlord faction in order to see action, leading Zgorth'sth to suggest that the New Republic would be prudent to eliminate the unit at the first opportunity.(Read more…) |
Dar Keyis![]() Dar Keyis was a Human male from the planet Churba who served as a member of the New Republic Starfighter Corps during the Galactic Civil War. In 4 ABY, nine months after the Battle of Endor, he was transferred to Rogue Squadron just prior to the Battle of Brentaal IV and was assigned the call sign Rogue Ten. The New Republic had targeted the planet Brentaal IV as part of an ongoing operation to establish a foothold in the Core Worlds, and to eventually liberate the galactic capital of Coruscant. Keyis served in the assault on the Brentaal IV moonbase, helping to secure it as a staging area for a direct assault on the planet itself. He then participated in the attack on the city of Vuultin, a diversionary feint that allowed the New Republic to establish a base in the city of Oradin. During the evacuation of Brentaal IV—an effort by the Imperial authorities to spirit away the wealthy and elite citizens of the planet—Keyis' fighter was destroyed by weapons fire from a TIE Interceptor, and he was killed in the resulting explosion. Diblen HarleysDiblen Harleys was a Human male from the planet Coruscant. The son of an Imperial bureaucrat, Harleys grew up believing that the Galactic Empire stood for order and justice, so he wanted to join the Imperial Survey Corps. Following the death of his mother around his fifteenth birthday, his father revealed the true nature of the Empire to him, explaining that a career in the Imperial Survey Corps would result only in the discovery of worlds that the Empire could exploit. Angry at being lied to all his life, Harleys joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic, serving in the capacity of a starfighter pilot and tactician. Harleys's tactics later proved effective during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, when he assisted in the Alliance victory over the Empire. By 9 ABY, during the Thrawn Crisis—a military campaign against the New Republic led by the Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn—Harleys was a Wing Commander and spent much of his time out of the cockpit planning missions. The Wing Commander was later involved in a scheme headed by Princess Leia Organa Solo and New Republic Intelligence agent Winter to search for Delta Source—a highly effective Imperial spy within the New Republic's highest echelons. Baydo Chasdy![]() Baydo Chasdy—"Bay" to his friends—was a Human male who owned the HyperDive Cantina on the planet Mon Calamari during the Galactic Civil War. Part of the Fathoms entertainment complex, the HyperDive's unique selling point was that the entire establishment was submerged under a meter of water. A self-admitted gambler, womanizer and con man, Chasdy was also a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, operating as a Foster Agent for Alliance Special Operations. Chasdy was a point of contact for Rebel agents who had been stranded in the field or had their covers exposed, and it was his duty to return them to the Alliance using his personal starship, the modified YT-1300 light freighter Chaser. His frequent absences from managing the HyperDive were explained by the multitude of scams and cons that he was always running, and it offered the perfect cover for his activities. (Read more…) |
Kina Margath![]() Kina Margath was a Human female who resided on the planet Elshandruu Pica. A businesswoman, she managed Margath's, a complex of hotels, bars, and casinos—including the famous 27th Hour Social Club—with a galaxy-wide reputation for excellence. Having inherited the business from her parents, Margath successfully ran her business empire for many years. In addition to her duties running Margath's, Margath was a Foster Agent for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, using her facilities to house orphaned operatives and assist them in returning to the Alliance. Margath also assisted the New Republic, the successor state to the Alliance, and helped Commander Wedge Antilles during his campaign against former Imperial Intelligence director, Ysanne Isard, by providing him with information on one of Isard's fleet captains, Sair Yonka of the Avarice. 3D-4X administrative droid![]() The 3D-4X administrative droid was created by Genetech Corporation in an effort to compete with their rival Cybot Galactica's hold on the galactic protocol droid market. Realizing that they could not compete one-on-one with the 3PO-series protocol droid and its AA-1 VerboBrain, Genetech opted to fashion a droid more suited to systems administration rather than diplomacy. The result was the 3D-4X series, which was a highly intelligent droid capable of taking initiative in completing tasks and possessed of a large information database concerning business, administrative, and financial procedures. Fluent in over two and half million forms of communication and able to act as a negotiator in preliminary business meetings, the 3D-4X was favored by senior executives and traveling businessbeings throughout the galaxy. Constructed on the factory world of Mechis III, 3D-4X droids were common sights in the galaxy, ranging from the Jedi Temple droid pool on the galactic capital Coruscant during the waning years of the Galactic Republic, to docking bays in Mos Espa on Tatooine; they were even found in the employ of crime lords. Although successful, the reputation of the 3D-4X series was damaged when it emerged that one of their number, 3D-4X, had killed his master, Administrator Hekis Durumm Perdo Kolokk Baldikarr Thun, during the takeover of Mechis III by a quartet of IG-88 assassin droids. Despite 3D-4X's reprogramming by IG-88A to commit that act, sales of the 3D-4X declined as confidence in the line wavered. (Read more…) |
Farstine![]() Farstine was a planet within the Farstine system, situated in the Mid Rim's Ryndellian sector. The planet was located on two major hyperlanes: the Five Veils Route, which connected the Mid Rim to the Svivreni and Skine sectors in the Outer Rim Territories, and the Triellus Trade Route, which spanned a large section of the Outer Rim within the Slice. Farstine possessed a methane atmosphere, requiring oxygen-breathing species to use breath masks for survival on the surface. Relatively untouched by galactic events, a battle was fought at Farstine in 19 BBY between Separatist holdout forces commanded by Trade Federation Customs Vizier Marath Vooro, and an Imperial fleet headed by the Imperial officer Octavian Grant. The planet was known to be one of the spice trade's major transshipment hubs, and was under Imperial occupation at some point during the Galactic Civil War. (Read more…) |
The Wraith![]() "The Wraith" was the codename of a Human male who served the Galactic Empire as a spy, assassin, and saboteur during the early years of the New Republic. Around 6 ABY, the Wraith successfully penetrated the New Republic Intelligence Service and caused the collapse of the Archive system, an effort to create a extensive network of intelligence gathering and data collation centers. The officer supervising the creation of the system, Major Breslin Drake, vowed to hunt the Wraith down for his actions, leaving the service of the New Republic to track him. The Wraith escaped into the Kathol sector in the Outer Rim Territories, where he entered the service of Moff Kentor Sarne, the local Imperial warlord. The spy operated as an assassin for the Moff's forces, eliminating Sarne's political enemies with a virulent poison harvested on the primitive planet Sebiris. In 8 ABY, after two years in service to Sarne, the Wraith was stranded on the planet Pembric II after the New Republic liberated the sector capital Kal'Shebbol and forced Moff Sarne to retreat into the wilds of the Kathol sector. The Wraith, under the alias Drenn, had been tasked by Sarne to infiltrate the organization of the local crime lord, Crev Bombaasa. Following the fall of Kal'Shebbol, the Wraith deemed his mission unnecessary and sought to rejoin Sarne, but Bombaasa had restricted travel off-planet. He spent several months working alongside Major Drake at the ThrusterBurn Tapcafe—the Wraith as a bouncer, Drake as the manager—after the latter had fallen afoul of Bombaasa during his search for the former. Neither knew of the other's identity or allegiance. The Wraith eventually made his way off Pembric II with the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar when he assisted them in liberating a slicer named Gaelin from Bombaasa's clutches. Serving as part of the FarStar's technical crew, the Wraith planned to rejoin Sarne by giving the Moff's forces the location of the FarStar while it underwent resupply at the planet Galtea and assassinating the corvette's commanding officer, Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum. The FarStar managed to survive the subsequent ambush, but Adrimetrum was left comatose by the Wraith's poison, with only days to live. Drake suggested that they might find a cure for the poison on Sebiris, as his investigations into the Wraith's activities had led him to the planet where he suspected the Wraith had operated under the alias Klendost Petrivoor. During the expedition to the planet, the Wraith's identiy was compromised when the headman of a Sebiri village recognized him as Petrivoor. He fled the planet in a freighter that he had concealed on the surface sometime prior.(Read more…) |
New Bakstre![]() New Bakstre was a planet located within the Tendrannan subsector of the Outer Rim's New Territories. Part of the loosely affiliated domain known as the Cassandran Worlds, New Bakstre was a planet dominated by industry situated on the important Braxant Run hyperlane that served much of the galaxy's northern quadrant. One of New Bakstre's major settlements, Havridam City, was partially destroyed in 22 BBY after activists from the Mechanical Liberation Front accidentally detonated a shipment of Vindicator XM-15 "brilliant" missiles. The planet was involved in the later stages of the Clone Wars when Jedi-led Galactic Republic forces engaged the military of the Confederacy of Independent Systems on the world's surface. Annexed by the Galactic Empire along with the entirety of the Cassandran Worlds roughly twenty years later, New Bakstre remained under Imperial control during the Galactic Civil War and the Second Galactic Civil War, with a brief intermediate spell, during which it was allied with the New Republic. New Bakstre possessed seven moons, a rapid rotation rate, and a sky that was colored purple. (Read more…) |
Dutra Zeneta![]() Dutra Zeneta was a male Jin from the Zchtek worlds who joined the growing resistance that became the Alliance to Restore the Republic shortly after the Galactic Empire subjugated his homeworld. A decorated and highly skilled commando and infiltrator, Zeneta participated in some of the Alliance's most perilous missions, including the Vidicx and Loac Campaigns, and was a member of the elite Scandium Team, leading Unit Theta. One of only six Scandium Team survivors from the Wellte-ir Massacre, Zeneta suffered from recurring nightmares and depression as a result of the battle, which resulted in the deaths of fifteen operatives out of the twenty-one deployed. After completing his twentieth assignment for Alliance Intelligence, Lieutenant Zeneta faced retirement or a desk job, as was standard procedure. Instead, he petitioned Alliance High Command to grant him a posting as a Foster Agent responsible for assisting stranded Alliance operatives to return to the Alliance and to give him command of a whole team of Foster Agents, a previously unheard of concept. High Command agreed to his request, and the all-alien Shroud Team was formed. Zeneta and his unit were inserted into Corint City on the planet Pirik in the Divis Arm, where they successfully returned sixteen agents to the Alliance in the space of seven standard months.(Read more…) |
Thilis-Brin![]() Thilis-Brin was a female Ishi Tib serving with the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. A technician, she was assigned to the Mon Calamari Shipyards as a troubleshooter after completing recruit training. After two years, Thilis-Brin desired a more active Alliance posting and accepted an offer to join Shroud Team—an all-alien unit of Foster Agents tasked with returning stranded operatives to the Alliance—under the command of Lieutenant Dutra Zeneta, a member of the Jin species. Based out of Corint City on the planet Pirik, she served as the group's technician and secondary Foster Agent after the Rodian Dheendo. A thrill-seeker, Thilis-Brin reveled in using her personal Sunwolf speeder bike to assist in operative extractions while evading Imperial pursuit, such as the time she successfully helped a high-ranking officer return to the Alliance after a speeder bike chase through the Talamp Industrial Sector.(Read more…) |
Mar Barezz![]() Mar Barezz was a Human male officer in the Investigations branch of the Imperial Security Bureau. An ardent supporter of Emperor Palpatine and the New Order, Barezz was charged with eliminating spies and traitors throughout the Galactic Empire, be they Rebel fugitives or members of the Empire's own military forces. During the Galactic Civil War, Barezz served as an Imperial Security Bureau advisor during the Raid on Picutorion in the Kwymar Suppressions, and later formed a rivalry with the Alliance Intelligence agent Tay Vanis, commonly known as "Tiree." The stories of the pair's continual clashes became well known in intelligence circles. Barezz attempted to stop the agent from recruiting new operatives for the Rebellion, and closed in on Vanis when his rival recruited four individuals—Raleigh Dawn, Sammie Staable, Raal Yorta, and Smileredon-Verdont—on the planet Ord Mantell. Chasing them to the abandoned lidium mine Mesa 291 on Bothawui, Barezz took a contingent of stormtroopers and attempted to capture the new Rebels to interrogate them and force them to reveal the location of the hidden Rebel base to where they were to be taken. During the mission, Raal Yorta threw a thermal detonator at Barezz and three stormtroopers. The resulting explosion allowed the Rebels to escape. (Read more…) |
Harovan Toth![]() Harovan Toth was a Human male Infiltrator who served with the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. A native of the planet Reynon, Toth joined the resistance forces on his homeworld before joining the Alliance proper on the planet Dantooine. There, he married Tisha Rostek, and the couple had a daughter, Samona; their happiness was shortlived, however, as Rostek was killed in the Battle of Thovinack. One of the first Alliance Infiltrators, Toth led Scandium Team, which participated in some of the most dangerous battles in the Alliance's early history. Sometime prior to the Battle of Yavin, Scandium Team participated in a mission to the Wellte-ir system. Encountering elite Imperial armor units, the team received heavy casualties, with only six members surviving out of the twenty-one deployed. The incident became known as the Wellte-ir Massacre. Plagued by the memories of the massacre, Toth was forcibly retired from active combat, drawing a variety of assignments before being assigned to Delta Base, the headquarters for the Suolriep sector, where he served as a patrol pilot and advisor.(Read more…) |
Theol Drost![]() Theol Drost was a Human male Imperial Army officer serving the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. As a high colonel, Drost commanded the Army detachment committed to the assault on Picutorion, an engagement that was part of the Kwymar Suppressions, alongside his Imperial Navy counterpart, Commodore Bevven. During the battle, Drost deferred to the judgment of Imperial Security Bureau officer Mar Barezz in allowing two of his men, Captain Ganig and Sergeant Stecker, to be killed in action to prevent the possibility of two decorated heroes of the Empire defecting to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Drost spent the next decade commanding various space installations until receiving a promotion to general and command of the security of the Bilbringi Shipyards. In 9 ABY, Bilbringi fell under the aegis of Thrawn's confederation and was responsible for building new Star Destroyers. A raid on the facility conducted by the smugglers Mazzic and Ellor resulted in the destruction of a nearly-completed Star Destroyer and revealed flaws in General Drost's security setup. Rather than punish the general, Grand Admiral Thrawn gave Drost thirty hours to revise Bilbringi's security system. Morodin![]() Morodins were a species of large, sentient herbivores. Often mistaken for massive herd animals, the Morodins had long, slender bodies that could grow up to twenty meters in length. They possessed six legs and two forearms, as well as a wide spoon-shaped snout. The most distinctive feature of the Morodins was their ability to secrete a nutrient slime trail that promoted growth and mutation in plant life that it covered. The composition of the secretion varied with the Morodin's diet, and they were always experimenting with new combinations by eating plants, exuding the secretion to create a new, more nutritious, strain of flora which then entered their food chain. Originally from a homeworld that struggled to feed its growing population, the Morodins established a colony on the planet Varonat to grow food. The Morodins turned part of Varonat into a vast jungle and transported their bounty to the homeworld aboard organic space vessels. However, an ecological disaster on their homeworld prevented the Morodins from growing their ships, and contact with the homeworld was lost. The Morodins on Varonat continued to thrive. Eventually, Human colonists reached Varonat and saw the Morodins as wild beasts intent on destroying their plantings when, in reality, the Morodins were trying to help the Humans to grow their food. During the early years of the New Republic, a group of Krish began planting in the jungle and actively allowing the Morodins to fertilize the crop. At the same time, a safari had been established by the same group of Krish that killed several Morodins a year as part of a big-game hunt.(Read more…) |

It was the homeworld of the Gree species, a race of six-tentacled cephalopods who, despite having an advanced form of technology, allowed their society to fall into ruin when they began prizing an individual's mastery of their advanced devices over improving them or creating new ones. As the Operator caste became more powerful within Gree society, they guarded the secrets of operating and manipulating their devices, sometimes dying before they could pass the knowledge on to their apprentices. Gree served as the capital of the Enclave, and was considered to be the cultural center of Gree society, revered by all members of the species as a sacred place. By the time of the Galactic Empire, Gree had fallen into ruin following the near-collapse of Gree society. Only one major city remained, and the rest of the planet was a virtual wasteland covered in barren plains and abandoned ruins. Little was known of the planet to other species; the Gree restricted visitors to the world, with individuals only being permitted onto the world at the behest of the planetary grand council.(Read more…) |

KastaysKastays was a male Aaris who lived on the planet Aaris III several thousand years before the Galactic Civil War. A noted scholar, he worked from a tower that overlooked one of the Aaris cities. Several days after the Plaque of Victory—a sentient, inanimate artifact that influenced the minds of surrounding individuals with suspicions and violent tendencies—arrived in the city, it was given over to Kastays for safekeeping. The artifact had been causing civil unrest throughout the city, and it was hoped that if the artifact was in Kastays's tower, high above the population, its effects would be negated. Hiding it in a floor safe, Kastays recorded the events surrounding the Plaque's arrival, and the subsequent unrest that he dubbed "the last days", on the bas-relief pictographs that the Aaris used to record their history. Several thousand years later, after the fall of the Aaris civilization, his recordings were uncovered and translated by Imperial science team MS-133.(Read more…) |

Corona-class frigate![]() The Corona-class frigate was a combat starship produced by Kuat Drive Yards for the New Republic. A successor to the successful EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate line, the Corona-class was designed as part of the New Republic's drive to modernize and standardize its naval forces, moving away from the eclectic collection of starships that it had inherited from the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The frigate was designed to incorporate the New Republic's philosophy of not allowing starships to operate independently for years at a time, and to be tied to a home base for support. Physically resembling its predecessor, Corona-class vessels were intended to operate both independently and in larger fleet formations, as well as perform a variety of mission profiles, including reconnaissance, close-line fire support and anti-starfighter screening operations. They boasted an array of offensive and defensive weapons, as well as hangar space for thirty-six starfighters. Corona-class frigates were deployed to the New Republic Defense Forces by 11 ABY, seeing service during the assaults on the New Republic by Imperial Admiral Natasi Daala.(Read more…) |
AarisThe Aaris were one-meter-tall reptilian sentients native to the planet Aaris III in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Thousands of years prior to the Galactic Civil War, the Aaris built an industrial society across their homeworld, raising large cities. They had a strong tradition of oral communication, to the extent of developing a unique method of recording their knowledge. Although a peaceful race, the Aaris tore their society apart in a civil war, a conflict perpetrated by the arrival of the Plaque of Victory on their planet. The Plaque was a sentient lifeform—although it was inanimate and held within a metal ingot—that sought to influence the minds of other beings into doing its bidding. The Plaque caused the Aaris people to become violent and homicidal, turning factions against one another as they all sought to gain possession of the artifact. Eventually, the Aaris fell into decline, and their cities became ruins reclaimed by the jungle. By 8 ABY, the primitive descendants of the Aaris lived in warrens tunneled through the ruins of their former cities. |
Kathol ProtectorThe Kathol Protector was an escort carrier in service to Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne as part of his military forces in the Kathol sector. Modified to mount two tractor beam projectors in place of a standard escort carrier's two twin laser cannons, the ship also carried pathogenic weapons as part of its arsenal. In 8 ABY, New Republic forces liberated the Kathol sector capital of Kal'Shebbol. In response, the population of the nearby planet of Kolatill overthrew their Imperial governor and declared their allegiance to the New Republic. The Kathol Protector conducted a retaliatory strike on the world, using TIE bombers to severely damage the capital city of Domaz. Several days later, the Kathol Protector returned to the planet to conduct a second attack, this time using the pathogenic weapons it carried. The New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar had responded to a distress signal from Kolatill and was in orbit of the planet. During the ensuing battle, the Kathol Protector's TIE bombers were tasked with releasing their pathogenic bombs on urban areas across the planet. They were eventually stopped by the combined starfighter forces of the FarStar and the Kolatill Defense Force. Despite this, the Kathol Protector was able to capture a shuttle carrying Captain Keleman Ciro—the commanding officer of the FarStar—before withdrawing from the battle. |

Comprised of four individuals—Thanis Gul-Rah, Kolig, Padak, and Sufar—Qulok's Fist engaged in various criminal activities, including slave trafficking, mercenary work, smuggling, and bounty-hunting. They used a modified YT-1300 light freighter called Steel Fist as their headquarters, transportation, and main combat vessel, operating in the Outer Rim Territories, Minos Cluster, and Kathol sector. In 8 ABY, the group was contracted by Moff Kentor Sarne, warlord of the Kathol sector, to keep track of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. The FarStar was actively tracking Sarne after forcing him to flee from his capital, and Sarne employed Qulok's Fist to provide him with information, and, on one occasion in the Shintel system, attack the corvette directly. |
Venom ZeroVenom Zero—also known as "VZ"—was a squad of Venom assault troopers that served the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet during the Second Imperial Civil War. Considered to be an elite unit, Venom Zero was not permanently assigned to any one Sabertooth-class assault/rescue vessel like their fellow squads, but was constantly transferred between ships when the mission deemed that they were needed. Like other Venom assault squads, Venom Zero was trained in close-quarters combat, zero-g combat and ship-to-ship boarding tactics. When not engaged in battle, Venom Zero was responsible for training their fellow squads in advanced combat techniques. |
Ambition![]() The Ambition was a Carrack-class light cruiser in service to the Imperial Navy. In 4 ABY, the ship became part of Moff Kentor Sarne's military forces when he removed the Kathol sector from the authority of the Galactic Empire, setting himself up as an independent warlord. By 8 ABY, the Ambition was maintained in a secret underground hangar on the sector capital of Kal'Shebbol for use as an escape craft for the Moff in case the planet fell to enemy forces. When New Republic forces assaulted Kal'Shebbol in 8 ABY, Sarne used the Ambition to flee the planet and join up with the rest of his military forces. |
Unidentified New Republic admiralThis male admiral was a member of the New Republic Defense Force, serving during the early years of the New Republic. In 8 ABY, he commanded the task force that liberated the planet Kal'Shebbol, the capital of the Kathol sector. Following the successful liberation of the world, the admiral was ordered to proceed to the Minos Cluster to rendezvous with forces under the command of Sarin Virgilio, then head on to the Bozhnee sector to assist Admiral Gial Ackbar in engaging another rogue Imperial warlord. Before he left Kal'Shebbol, this admiral authorized the transfer of personnel and equipment to the CR90 corvette FarStar, which had been charged with tracking down Sarne after the Moff escaped during the battle for his capital. |
Ord Pardron sector defense outpostThis sector defense outpost was a New Republic military installation on the planet Ord Pardron. Located under the surface of the planet, the outpost was originally a mining installation for the Galactic Empire, before being converted into a starfighter base used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic after Imperial forces abandoned it in 1 ABY. Starfighters from the base—known as the Ord Pardron Starfighter Base—scored numerous victories against Imperial forces during the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY and the establishment of the New Republic shortly thereafter, the base was retasked to serve as a major sector defense outpost with a full complement of starfighters, capital ships, and personnel. In 9 ABY, Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn waged a military campaign against the New Republic. He ordered task forces of Imperial capital ships to assault several planets within the sector defense outpost's area of responsibility in an effort to draw military assets away from Ord Pardron. With many of its ships and fighters engaged in other systems, the base was attacked by a task force led by the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Death's Head. The base personnel called for reinforcements themselves, which allowed Thrawn to assault his true objective—the planet Ukio. During the assault, the base was severely damaged. |
Elomin task force![]() The Elomin task force was a New Republic military formation consisting of four Assault Frigate Mark I capital ships and three wings of Incom Corporation T-65 X-wing starfighters. Crewed exclusively by Elomins, the task force was on patrol in the Obroa-skai system when Imperial raiders conducted an information raid on Obroa-skai's library. The task force tracked the raiders back to their mothership, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Chimaera, which was commanded by Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn used his tactical skills to totally decimate the task force by using the unstructured attack profile of the Marg Sabl maneuver against the Elomins, whose logical nature prevented them from countering it. |
Nomad Squadron![]() Nomad Squadron was a starfighter unit formed by the Alliance to Restore the Republic following the Battle of Yavin in 0 ABY. Originally comprised of Alliance Underground Engineering RZ-1 A-wing interceptors, Nomad Squadron was commissioned as a reconnaissance and hit-and-fade squadron. The unit served both the Rebel Alliance and its successor state, the New Republic, throughout the Galactic Civil War. By the start of the Yuuzhan Vong War in 25 ABY, the Nomads were based off the MC80B Star Cruiser Allegiant in the Meridian sector and were under the command of Captain Tarrik. There, the squadron patrolled the sector on alert for assaults from the extra-galactic invaders. Nomad Squadron's pilots were known for being cross-trained on virtually all starfighter classes employed by both the Rebel Alliance and New Republic. This was reflected in the unit's flight line in later years when it was not uncommon to see A-wings alongside Incom Corporation T-65 X-wing starfighters and Slayn & Korpil B-wing starfighters. |
Unidentified Elomin task force commanderThis Elomin commanded a task force of capital ships and starfighters that served the New Republic Military during the Galactic Civil War. In 9 ABY, the Elomin and his task force were present in the Obroa-skai system as part of the New Republic diplomatic efforts to entice the planet Obroa-skai to join the Republic. During the deployment, Imperial scout ships attempted an information raid on the planet's extensive library facilities. The Elomin commander ordered his task force to engage and pursue, chasing the Imperial intruders into hyperspace. After reverting to realspace, the Elomin commander found himself confronted with an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, the Chimaera. Although the task force had the advantage of numbers, the New Republic unit was destroyed when the commander of the Chimaera, Grand Admiral Thrawn, employed a Marg Sabl closure maneuver against the force. The Elomin commander, unable to properly counter the unstructured attack profile of the tactic due to his logical mind, was killed during the engagement. |
CantrylDoctor Cantryl was a male Human who operated as a crimeboss on the planet Gandle Ott in the Kathol sector during the early years of the New Republic. He controlled a criminal organization and kept accurate navigational charts of the sector. During the years that Moff Kentor Sarne was in charge of the region, Cantryl maintained a low profile due to the Moff's intolerance of criminal gangs within his territory. |
Brandy MacMillianBrandy MacMillian was a female Human from the planet Corellia. A freighter captain, MacMillian was a member of the Corellian Merchants' Guild, and at some point earned a Corellian Bloodstripe. MacMillian retired to Gandle Ott, a world in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories, where she maintained the local Corellian Merchants' Guild Guildhouse and possessed a large amount of navigational data regarding the Kathol sector. |
Bombing of DomazIn 8 ABY, Domaz, the capital city of the planet Kolatill, was bombed by Imperial forces allied to the Warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Sarne ordered the assault on the city after the population of Kolatill ousted Tetrum, their Imperial governor, and declared their allegiance to the New Republic, who had recently liberated the neighboring world of Kal'Shebbol. TIE/sa bombers, deployed from the escort carrier Kathol Protector, attacked the city, leveling buildings and leaving the city aflame. After the enemy force withdrew, the citizens of Domaz rallied to cope with the disaster and called for New Republic aid. |
New Republic task force (Kal'Shebbol)This task force was a military formation that was part of the New Republic Navy. In 8 ABY, the task force was assigned to the liberation of Kal'Shebbol, the capital of the remote Kathol sector, an area of space that was under the rule of Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. The task force arrived in the Kal'Shebbol system at a specific time, which allowed a freighter carrying elements of Page's Commandos to infiltrate the planet with the intention of bringing down the planetary shields. The task force battled Sarne's forces in orbit, but were unable to prevent the Moff from escaping the planet in the Carrack-class light cruiser Ambition. However, despite this setback, Page's Commandos were successful in lowering the shields, allowing the New Republic to take Kal'Shebbol. After the liberation, the task force was given three days to assist in securing the planet before it was to head to the Minos Cluster, hook up with Sarin Virgilio and his unit, and proceed to the Bozhnee sector to counter an Imperial official that Admiral Ackbar was trying to box in. Because of these assignments, the Admiral in command could not afford to commit a large amount of manpower or equipment to a mission that had been planned to hunt down Sarne. However, he did release as much personnel and supplies as was possible. |
Jaunty CavalierThe Jaunty Cavalier was a YT-series freighter owned by the Wookiee Rufarr, who operated it alongside a crew of six beings. The vessel was a common sight around the planet Bakura in the Outer Rim Territories during the conflict fought by the denizens of the galaxy against the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong. In 28 ABY, the crew of the Jaunty Cavalier was contracted by Molierre Cundertol, Prime Minister of Bakura, to take delivery of a Human replica droid made in his image and take it to a secret location, and then to secretly transport the Prime Minister to the same location and back again. To do this, the crew of the ship faked a kidnapping with Cundertol's assistance and spirited him away. Cundertol, however, was in league with the Ssi-ruuk, a reptilian species that inhabited a star cluster near to Bakura. After a failed invasion attempt on Bakura twenty-four years earlier, the Ssi-ruuk were looking to try again. In exchange for using the Ssi-ruuvi entechment process to transfer his life essence into the Human replica droid, Cundertol was to assist them in taking the planet. With the process completed, the Jaunty Cavalier took Cundertol back to Bakura. However, to ensure secrecy about his new immortal condition, Cundertol murdered the crew of the Jaunty Cavalier and sabotaged the ship. The vessel was destroyed shortly after exiting hyperspace above Bakura, but the Prime Minister ejected in an escape pod. After being rescued, he spun a tale of being kidnapped by the crew of the Jaunty Cavalier, escaping and overpowering them before turning the ship around to make it home. |
ThedaDoctor Theda was a member of Imperial research team MS-133 in 8 ABY. MS-133 was part of the military forces under the command of Moff Kentor Sarne, a warlord who ruled the Kathol sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Led by Professor Lancer Brunou, MS-133 conducted an archaeological expedition to the planet Aaris III with the intention of discovering why the native species had become extinct several thousand years previously. During their excavations, members of the team uncovered a strange artifact that began to manipulate their feelings, causing them to act in suspicious and homicidal ways. During the events that unfolded, Theda was badly wounded by blaster fire. As the situation on the planet worsened, so did Theda's condition. By the time that the survivors were eventually rescued by the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar, Theda had died. |
Unidentified Imperial lieutenant (MS-133)This Imperial lieutenant was a member of Moff Kentor Sarne's military in 8 ABY. He was commander of a security detachment assigned to the science team MS-133 during their expedition to Aaris III, a planet in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories, doubling as the team's shuttle pilot. During the expedition, the lieutenant led a small force of soldiers into the jungle to investigate reports of beings "spying" on the team. The reports were the result of the Plaque of Victory—an inanimate lifeform that manipulated individuals into destroying one another—influencing the members of the team and skewing their perceptions. The lieutenant never returned to the base camp, and his body was later found in the jungle by other members of the expedition. |
Kolatill Defense ForceThe Kolatill Defense Force was the primary military organization of the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The unit was formed in 8 ABY after the planet's population overthrew the local Imperial governor, Tetrum, and declared its allegiance to the New Republic following the successful liberation of the sector capital Kal'Shebbol from the forces of warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. Consisting of six TIE/LN starfighters, the Defense Force was charged with the protection of the world. Several days after the unit was created, it joined forces with the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar and its starfighter squadron to defend the planet from an attack by the escort carrier Kathol Protector. The FarStar was assisting in relief operations following an earlier assault on the planet's capital, Domaz, by the Kathol Protector. During the battle, the combined Kolatill–New Republic force managed to destroy the assault force of TIE/sa bombers that were intent on dropping pathogenic bombs on the planet's cities. |
City of KastaysThe City of Kastays was a major city on the planet Aaris III in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories several thousand years before the Galactic Civil War. Inhabited by the native Aaris, the city was home to the Place of Kastays and was large enough to require a standing city guard. Several millennia prior to the Galactic Civil War, the city was the location to which the Plaque of Victory—a sentient, inanimate lifeform that had the goal of destroying all life around it by manipulating the feelings of others to do its bidding—was brought to following its discovery. The City of Kastays descended into violence and disorder under the influence of the Plaque, and fell into ruin and disrepair following the downfall of the Aaris civilization. The ruins of the city were eventually reclaimed by nature and later housed the primitive descendants of the Aaris. In 8 ABY, the ruins were the site of an archaeological excavation by the Imperial science team MS-133. |
Manon FlintGovernor Manon Flint was the Imperial official in charge of the Oon Tien system in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 8 ABY, warlord Moff Kentor Sarne was forced to retreat from his capital on Kal'Shebbol by New Republic forces. As the Moff retreated, he ordered Flint to hold Oon Tien's extensive spacedock facilities at all costs or scuttle them in the likelihood that they would be captured by the New Republic. |
Kolatill CouncilThe Kolatill Council, also known as the Council of Kolatill, was the ruling body of the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 0 ABY, the Council was arrested by Imperial Governor Tetrum following his declaration of martial law on the world. Eight years later, the populace overthrew Tetrum in response to the New Republic's liberation of the sector capital Kal'Shebbol, which deposed the local Imperial warlord, Moff Kentor Sarne. The Council was freed from prison; and they took up their old position, although their time incarcerated had reduced their number to only three members, including Councilor Kause. After declaring allegiance to the New Republic, the Council and the population of Kolatill were forced to endure two assaults against their planet by forces loyal to Moff Sarne. The New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar responded to the Council's distress signal following the devastation of the capital city, Domaz, providing relief aid and assisting in fending off the second assault on the planet. The Council, grateful for the New Republic's efforts, publicly thanked the crew of the FarStar, and provided them with information that allowed them to carry out their mission to track down Moff Sarne. |
Pathogenic bombA pathogenic bomb was a chemical warhead that mixed two prime components together to create a poison cloud that was capable of spreading disease among targeted populations. The resulting mixture was highly volatile, which necessitated its storage in independent receptacles until just prior to deployment. In 8 ABY, the population of the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories was targeted by Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. The assault was in response to Kolatill's overthrow of their Imperial governor in the wake of Sarne's ousting from his own capital, Kal'Shebbol, by New Republic forces. The attack—which was to feature the dropping of pathogenic bombs on major cities across the surface of the planet—was thwarted by the combined forces of the Kolatill Defense Force and the starfighter squadron assigned to the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. |
Subjugation of CharisThe subjugation of Charis occurred in 4 ABY, during the Galactic Civil War. The planet Charis, located in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories, was under Imperial rule during the conflict between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. In 4 ABY, the population of Charis rebelled and tried to overthrow their Imperial oppressors. Moff Kentor Sarne, ruler of the Kathol sector, ordered a brutal assault, which reduced the population of the planet from 1 billion inhabitants to 850 million and ruined several major cities. |

During a training patrol over a planet, Calson crowded the formation and clipped the wing of Gorjaye's fighter, sending both craft crashing into an area known as the Wilds. On the ground, Gorjaye ordered him to fall in line and follow her to a nearby settlement, but Calson refused to take orders from a woman. Setting out on his own, he was killed by a corvaj, a predator native to the Wilds. |
Kal'Shebbol systemThe Kal'Shebbol system was a star system in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The system contained the planet Kolatill, which was the sector's largest producer of repulsorlift vehicles and parts and a major stopping point on the Trition Trade Route. The system was locally governed by the Kolatill Council until 2 BBY, when it came under the authority of the Galactic Empire. Four years later, following Emperor Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor, the entire Kathol sector was withdrawn from the Empire by its Imperial Moff, Kentor Sarne, who set himself up as a warlord. The Kolatill system subsequently became part of Sarne's fiefdom. In 8 ABY, Kolatill's population rose up and overthrew their appointed governor after learning that the New Republic had ousted Sarne from his capital, Kal'Shebbol. In the days following this act, they endured two attacks on their planet by forces loyal to Moff Sarne, but were assisted by the crew of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. |
