IG-88A[1] was one of five identical IG-88 assassin droids[2] that, according to legend, were created by Holowan Laboratories during a secret Imperial project[1] known as the Project Phlutdroid.[3] After its activation, IG-88A and its cohorts killed their creators and planned to overthrow organic life. Meanwhile, IG-88B played its part by becoming a bounty hunter to draw attention away from IG-88A.[1]
