Gelgelar was a shadowport with an outlaw garage. The former pirate Queen Maz Kanata marked the direction of Gelgelar off the edge of a map she included in the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide.[2]

Behind the scenes

Gelgelar was first mentioned in the current canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[2] It originally appeared as a planet in the Star Wars Legends article "Finder's Fee," which was written by Peter M. Schweighofer and published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 6 in 1995.[3]
