The Dorneans were a species native[2] to the planet Dornea.[1] The Dorneans designed the Braha'tok-class gunship, a gunship class manufactured by the Dornean Braha'ket Fleetworks Conglomerate[3] to protect their homeworld from the Galactic Empire.[2] The starship became the representative ship of the Dornean race.[4] A number of these gunships came to aid the Rebel Alliance,[2] notably after Dornea joined the faction following the Battle of Yavin.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Dornean species was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles, written by Landry Q. Walker.[2] In Star Wars Legends, the species first appeared in the 1996 novel Before the Storm, written by Michael P. Kube-McDowell.[5]
