Plot summary

After their ship is damaged by a nebula they entered to escape Imperial forces, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa are forced to crash-land on an unknown planet. The planet is almost entirely covered by water, leaving them stranded on a small, isolated island. For three weeks, they survive on their own, hunting for food and repairing what they can of their ship. During this time, they share stories and connect over their similar pasts as orphans, strengthening their bond.

Luke and Leia soon discover they are not alone on the planet when a group of humanoid creatures emerge from the ocean. They realize that a whole civilization has been living beneath the waves the entire time. However, their short-lived peace is interrupted when the Empire tracks them down. An AT-AT walker'and a team of Imperial stormtroopers emerge from the water to capture them.

Using her wits and wilderness survival skills, Leia prepares a series of booby traps. The stormtroopers trigger a trap that fires paralyzing quills at them, giving Luke the chance to take out the remaining troopers with his lightsaber. To deal with the menacing AT-AT, Leia shoots a flaming arrow at a pile of dry wood she had strategically placed earlier. The ensuing explosion engulfs the walker, destroying it completely. With the threat eliminated, Luke and Leia scavenge enough parts from the wreckage of the AT-AT to repair their own ship. They are able to fly away from the planet, leaving the newly discovered civilization undisturbed.
