- "Senator, you need to lie down."
- ―A guard to Bail Organa after he is attacked
The Alderaan Guard, also known as the Alderaanian royal guards, were a security force responsible for the protection of members of the House of Organa, the royal family of the planet Alderaan.
History
The Alderaan Guard accompanied the royal family in all their travels
During the Clone Wars in 21 BBY,[3] Alderaan's Senator Bail Prestor Organa was attacked in a parking garage by several thugs wanting to stop him from giving a speech in the Galactic Senate. Organa pushed an emergency button summoning several guards and the Coruscant Police. Though the thugs were arrested, Organa's speeder crashed and he was severely injured. The guards notified Senator Padmé Amidala before taking Organa to a hospital.[2]
In 19 BBY,[4] Trayus Castolle was the chief of the Royal Guard. After the guards failed in responding properly to multiple threats on the lives of the royal family, Castolle was reprimanded by Queen Breha.[5]
In 3 BBY,[6] Princess Leia Organa talked to one of the guards about their baby, who had begun sleeping through the night, before she began her Day of Demand ceremony.[7]
