Plot summary
At the Rebel Command Center Home One, Leia briefs her team on the plan to take down Shu-Torun, a major Imperial resource site. Luke is eager for revenge against Queen Trios, but Leia clarifies the mission is a strategic strike, not a personal vendetta. She reveals that when they sliced into Trios's ship, they gained access to the full plans of Shu-Torun's infrastructure, which, despite its intricate design, is uniquely vulnerable. She assures the team that no civilians will be harmed, but they need a shape-shifter to help them with the mission.
Meanwhile, on the Outer Rim world of Gralack, the rebels find their man, Tunga, at a theatrical performance. When stormtroopers interrupt the show, believing it to be a treasonous performance, the rebels reveal their true identities to help Tunga escape. With Tunga now on their team, Leia decides they also need help from people who are used to fighting on a "hell world," and they travel to the planet Jedha to ask for the assistance of the Partisans, led by Benthic. Though initially skeptical, Benthic agrees to help after Leia makes a compelling plea.
While on Jedha, Luke visits the Temple of Central Isopter, a location with a dark history. He explains to Han that he once trained there with a death cult but was ultimately nearly consumed by the dark side. Back on the Home One, Leia assembles her full team, which includes a former slicer named Meorti, and explains their goal: to cripple the Empire's economy by striking Shu-Torun. Unbeknownst to the rebels, a group of Central Isopter devotees has also arrived on Shu-Torun, sensing a destructive Force energy similar to what they experienced on Jedha.
