Porgs were a type of bird.
Birds or avians were a group of organisms which included the convorees from the moon of Wasskah and the porgs of the ocean planet Ahch-To. Birds also lived on the arboreal planet Naboo, as well as the moon of Yavin 4 and the forest planet Rodia, where they were included in the diet of predatory Ghests.[2] Most birds had feathers, wings, and the ability to fly.[3] Birds usually built nests in trees, though some species were known to make their homes in burrows beneath the ground.[4] They were hatched from eggs.[5] Some bird species communicated via so-called bird calls.[6] Sentient avian species included Hiitians,[7] Snees,[8] and Whiforlans.[9] Many birds included berries in their diet.[4]
Avians on a number of worlds would imprint on the first creature they saw once they emerged from their eggs.[5]
