Plot summary
The Disciples of Central Isopter, sensing the Force, gathered on Shu-Torun to witness a prophesied destruction. As they saw the Spike shudder, they knew they had arrived just in time.
Meanwhile, a firefight raged between Leia, Han Solp, and the Shu-Torun guards. Suddenly, orbital bombs began to strike the Spike's shields. Queen Trios realized the attack was not from the rebels and was informed that the Star Destroyer Tribitum was in orbit, bombarding the site. Trios demanded a comms link with Commander Kanchar, telling him the rebels were on-site, as were her own forces. Kanchar said he would deploy his best stormtroopers to assist. Trios's immediate priority was to reclaim her throne room.
Trios called Kanchar again, asking why the bombardment was still happening. He explained he was doing so to ensure Leia didn't escape, telling the Queen that her presence was "unfortunate" but that her death would simply be replaced by another aristocrat. A guard then informed Trios that her ship had been damaged during the crash landing.
Knowing Trios and her guards were approaching, the rebels fell back to the throne room. Chewbacca reported to Leia that he still hadn't heard from Luke. At the same time, Luke was desperately trying to keep R2-D2 away from Benthic and the Partisans.
The throne room doors opened, and Trios and her guards entered, surprised to find Leia waiting for them. The two women immediately engaged in a fight using Shu-Torun axes. Simultaneously, Luke was cornered by Benthic, who began a broadcast.
As their duel continued, Leia explained to the Queen that the rebels' plan was never to kill anyone or destroy the planet. Trios called her a liar, and the fight escalated until Leia disarmed her. Trios, with her last breaths, warned that unless someone shut down the machines, the planet would be torn in two. She died with regret on her lips.
In the Spike, Benthic found R2-D2 and ordered him to overload the system. Luke protested, but the droid moved to the interface controls, triggering a massive reaction within the Spike. The Disciples of Isopter watched, certain that the foretold destruction had begun.
